I ordered delivery (GrubHub), so i can't speak to the ambiance. I ordered an ultimate calzone without mushrooms & ground beef. They didn't take them out. I asked for napkins & utensils; there were none. The calzone was delicious even though I had to pick the mushrooms out; I couldn't remove the ground beef. The crust was OUTSTANDING!!! Just got 2 Calzones. Got medium. Good size but way too thin in middle. Never saw a calzone that thin. Got an Italian and a steak bomb. Although I have ordered 10+ times, I have noticed a distinct downward trend in food and service There is always something either missing or wrong! The latest fiasco was a delivery of spaghetti and meatballs with RED sauce: the female who answered the phone has a poor command of English and seemed to think white sauce was okay and offered a free drink on the next order (which is NOT happening). Could not give any stars because it took so long to get our food. Was originally told it would take 25-45 min to get our food. I called over an hour after ordering and was told it would be delivered in 15-20 min. after another 20 min I called again and was told food had left only 15 min prior. was given an excuse that it was raining. We live 5 min away and spent $70+ on 2 salads and some chicken strips. Top it off... they didn't include any dressings (even though I specifically requested them on the order). Ordered delivery. It took much longer than we were told (uber eats or grub hub I forget which). I don't guess I can't fault the shop. But I'd rather just pick up next time. The pizza arrived cold. Not warm or even room temp. It HAD to be reheated since I do not enjoy cold pizza. Once reheated it tasted fine. The crust is a little doughy. I don't mind that but others may not. The wings were still hot when they were delivered. The foil likely helped. I was glad that they didn't steam and become soft. They were still quite crispy. My favorite local pizza place in Medford! I grew up in Medford and absolutely love this place. The new management does an amazing job. The ingredients are fresh and they are flexible with delivery. My favorite is getting the half and half pizza with with vegetables on one side (onions, peppers, and mushroom) and buffalo chicken on the other (no tomatoe sauce, buffalo sauce with ranch cheese and chicken). We ordered take-out pizza from Pinky's, and we dove into it about 30 minutes after it came out of the oven. As expected, the crust softened a little bit, but the pizzas were still quite tasty. We got two of the vegetarian specialties, the Elvis Pesto, and the Greece Lightning. I liked that these used slices of tomato instead of tomato sauce. The Pesto was slightly saltier than I expected, yet the Greece Lightning - which I expected would be the salty one because of the "Greek salad" toppings, was not. Our third pizza was a build-your-own carnivorous pizza which included bacon, always a plus. It hit the "meat zone." The mediums don't seem to be significantly larger than the smalls, which I guess is why they're only $1 more - even so, they didn't feel like a better deal. I swear I wrote a review about Pinky's but apparently not. I love Pinky's - everything from the people to the food. They're always so nice when I order food. They've almost always gotten my order right... literally made one mistake of grilled chicken instead of fried chicken in my wrap which isn't the end of the world. My go to's are Chicken Caesar Wrap, French Fries, Mozzarella Sticks, Chicken Tenders and their BBQ Chicken Pizza (named something different). I was genuinely so upset when they had a fire back in March and drove by today and saw they were open. My boyfriend and I - who live down the street - called and ordered once we got home. Service was fast I'll give you that but when I asked about the salad that comes with the wing dinner I was given options which I assumed was the type of salad that I'd get with it, no I was charged a completely different salad which again not mad about that because it is what it is. The meh: The pizza sauce is too thick and they use too much. The dough looks delicious, but seems to lack any real taste. The cheese is sloppy and sparse. The delivery is atrocious. They have a feature that lets you set when you want your order delivered. Fantastic option and perfect for those of us who have set lunch breaks. If only it worked. Seems they don't care what time you select, they deliver when the feel like it. The packing for the delivery is also horrible. When I first looked at the menu everything looked so good, so I ordered for my eyes which led to a lot of food. I got the Godzilla pizza (which consists of extra cheese and pepperoni), bread sticks (which were soft and so good), but my favorite was Cinnamon stick. Today was my second visit here; my first was back in October. Both times I had exceptionally friendly and prompt service. Both times I got a pizza. Today I got the hamburger which was very good. Some places go cheap on the quality of their hamburger but I'm glad to report that that's not the case here. It's not in my top five favorites but it's in my top ten or twelve. I prefer thin crust and this is more in the thick side, but still it's tasty and quite filling! The inside is a typical sub shop with a few tables, albeit in a somewhat odd layout. I ordered a steak and cheese and pepper hoagie. It was teenie and was $10.69! I ain't never seen no hoagie for 10 bucks! I asked for a cup of water, and that's what I got: a cup of warm tap water with no ice. No sense going out of your way, I guess. The hoagie was fair at best -really lacked any seasoning or flavor that steak hoagies usually have -it was most meh. It always comes faster than it says it will (a miracle), is consistent, and their menu is big enough that it will fit every fried craving need. Well, it's me again. I honestly don't think I could express in words how my heart broke when I discovered my beloved Pinky's had caught fire. But, like a phoenix from the ashes, it rises again. I ordered my old friend, Godzillaroni and despite all the chaos, she did not disappoint. When I walked in to pick up my pizza, it was like coming home again... to a significant other who is out of their frickin' mind, but really REALLY just... understands you like no one else can. It was like nothing had changed. The Godzillaroni was just as sinfully delicious as she was the first time, with enough pepperoni and cheese that I made sure to update my will before I dug in. I could hear my cardiologist sobbing somewhere far away and I savored every sweet bite of the perfectly layered pizza far into the night. I'm glad they're back. I can't say I was faithful, but I can say I'll never be gone for long. You make my heart flutter and not just from arterial blockage, but from something deeper as well. NEVER AGAIN. As someone who has worked in the industry for 15 years, I usually can cut people slack if the service isn't great, as long as the food is good. Furthermore, for someone who used to make subs for a living to pay my way through school, i can tell you the sub I just got from this place was an absolute joke. I mean, how hard is it to make a cold veggie sub? All I asked for was lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions. Some mayo and some provolone. It's not rocket science people. First off, I was appalled that I was charged $8 for this.. But it was late and not much was open, so I had to deal with that fact. Secondly, I got home and took a bite - no provolone. No onions. An almost empty sub which was covered in SO much mayo I couldn't even hold the sub without the mayo dribbling down my arm. I guess that's why it was $8.. They must have used an entire jar of mayo. Maybe they thought with all that mayo I wouldn't notice there were no onions and no cheese? I mean... I really don't understand how you screw up a sub that is SO basic. Like... Really. It's kind of amazing. The ingredients that they did include in my sub seemed fresh so I guess I'll give them that, but the sub was almost empty. Rude. Late. Eh? I placed an order for a pretty standard large with sausage and mushrooms. It took an hour and 20 minutes to make it to my door. After an hour and 10 minutes I called to ask want was up. I was given a line about how it takes 45 minutes to an hour tk get a pizza. I pointed out that I'd been waiting an hour and 10 minutes. I was cut off/interrupted and told that they were the only place open. I pointed out that this was not true (a quick confirmation on Foodler showed 30 other pizza places to be open) and asked why I had been interrupted. She cut me off again and said,"I'm not interrupting you." At that point? It became clear that this was a rude women working for a crap business. The pizza is...eh? Like all other Medford/Somervillle pizza places. Noting special. Next time? Alfredo's, Friend's, Avellino's, Jumbo's, or whatever. Those places have all treated me well as a customer. read more
