I visited the Giraffe stop whilst waiting for my train back to Edinburgh. It is situated up one level at kings cross station. Service was ok although the girl behind the till could have been a bit friendlier, the boy was the nicest of the two. Breakfast was a full English and absolutely hit the spot and my tea came in a tall cup which was just what i needed. All in all a good experience and felt refreshed for my 3 hour journey home! read more

After getting my photo taken at Platform 9 3/4, and eating a giant fresh pasty from the Pasty Shop, I became rather thirsty and really craved a green smoothie. I wanted something healthy for a change! In comes Giraffe Stop. They had a selection of smoothies, including the Kale Kick, which includes kale, spinach, and mango, perfect for what I was seeking! I got my Kale Kick in regular size for £4.50, which is $5.55 USD. Within 5 minutes, my smoothie was ready! Woohoo! I drank it so fast, I forgot to take a photo of it when all my drink intact, whoops. Lousy, rushed impersonal service. Cold eggs. Whiter than white thin toast. Half cooked bacon served cold. It's disgusting. This place should just shut its doors and go home. This Giraffe is old and tired and expensive and awful. Walk on. Go anywhere else in Kings Cross but do not spend your hard-earned money here. They have lost interest in their customers and in the food they serve. It's over for this Giraffe. read more

This place is amazing! Too bad I went through all of my food without being able to take good pictures. I got the strawberry pancakes, hash browns, and scrambled eggs with decaf coffee. All of it was delicious. The service was great too. Super clean and friendly staff. My only feedback is to turn down the AC! It was freezing in here. I had the Malay curry chicken. The curry was pretty good but the dish could have been better if the chicken were grilled in some Malay spices or something. I also had sweet potato fries. Those were made just the way I like them: a light crunch with a very sweet potato inside. read more

I want to give this place a 2 because of the weirdness of my visit, but the burrito was pretty damn good and the espresso rocked, so fine: 3. I arrived a few minutes after it was supposed to have opened (7:30 am) and was informed that they weren't open yet, but that I could have a seat. Saw someone ordering at the counter a few minutes later, so I walked back up, but they were only serving coffee, not food. This is King's Cross, guys. You can get coffee at about 10 different places. I want food, guys. They finally started serving food, and even though multiple workers knew that I was trying to eat, no on came by to let me know that they were serving yet, so I finally realized and went up to order. Got the brekkie burrito with chorizo (British chorizo is not the same as American, btw) and a macchiato. This super loud guy that cursed like a sailor made my coffee, which was quite good. Got the burrito, which was quite big, and it was enjoyable. If it's open, then try it out, but if it's early, don't bother. Not a fun way to start your day (though I had just visited Platform 9 3/4!). read more

Great option if you need to pick some food up quickly before traveling. Food came out swiftly and there is plenty of seating inside and out. I ordered the falafel burger and my mum had the ham and cheese toastie and we shared some fries. Opted for the large portion of fries, which is actually quite big, plenty to share. They sell drinks but do have complimentary water available from a cooler with mint and lemon in. Unfortunately I spotted that after purchasing my drink! read more

I went into Giraffe excited for a freshly-cooked burger with fresh ingredients. Sadly to my surprise, the burger came out within a minute... Uh oh... It takes longer than that to cook real food. My fears were realised: the burger was a reheated, pre-cooked patty, so the cheese did not have a chance to melt onto the unnoticeably-heated hockey puck. The tomatoes had the wilted translucent look of condiments that had been laid out on the bun for a couple hours in the hot sun. If you're at King's Cross, there are a few burger joints and pubs that will give you a better burger-- and if you're desperate, McDonalds is around the corner. At least they will give you fresher ingredients. Yep, I just said that. read more

This Giraffe is a "Giraffe Stop" - a quick-service take on the usual Giraffe brand. You order at the counter and take a number to your table. We stopped in for some quick breakfast before our train journey. My bacon was so salty that it tasted of brine. So disappointing. For a simple cooked breakfast to have a large aspect of it to be inedible isn't nice. However, the juice was up to the usual great Giraffe standard. I *love* their fresh blended juices. Sadly, no fun giraffe-shaped stirrers at the train station. Decent service and they did keep things moving steadily with traveling people in mind. read more

A "Giraffe-stop" in Kings Cross station. I had a bbq hot dog (cant remember the menu name!) which was tasty given it was slathered with pulled pork and bbq sauce, though I dont think I would get it again. Mrs K ordered the SofD which she really didnt like and unfortuantely her sandwich was fridge cold and then microwaved when I asked for it to be put in the grill so heat it up a bit (it was 10 degrees outside!) making it fall apart. Came here's for breakfast to escape a nasty hotel-type breakfast. I was served exactly that :( eggs are rubbery. I don't think they understand how to actually FRY an egg. Coffee came after we'd finished breakfast. It's okay coffee, nothing outstanding. read more

All I wanted was a coffee and a couple of croissants. You are given a large bit of metal with a number. Really, this is the 21st century, not some queue here to wait for your order. The barista guy cannot say 37. I had to ask "twenty or thirty". Honestly, you were not even busy, and you mess about with this silly numbering system. Went in asking for a simple chicken burger while waiting for my train, the staff were fighting in front of me like I wasn't standing there and after I gave my order I asked how much time it would take to see if I could fit the meal in my waiting time, I waited for 3 times that amount ! And when I asked to get my burger to go cause my train was leaving soon, the guy had the audacity to turn to the cook and apologize to him!!!!! Saying te customer changed their mind! I didn't change my mind you people took your sweet time on my expense ! And when I got the burger and fries, the fries were clearly old, and the burger was horrible ! No seasoning what's so ever !!!!
