I thought I was pleased with Shine orthodontics, until recently. My daughter had her braces taken off about a month ago, and we recently switched to a new pediatric dentist. This dentist had to inform me that my daughter is missing 2 permanent teeth that he saw from the panoramic X-rays Shine ortho sent to him. Those x-rays were from LAST JULY and no one from shine orthodontics thought that was important to share with me?????? I'm very upset with that lack of communication. That is terrible. My daughter even won free braces to use when she is older, I see now why they are giving free braces away! I will never go back, I dont care to pay for braces out of pocket again before I use them again!!!!!!!

The two new women working the front desk during my last visit were impolite, unprofessional and did not appear to have a handle on their work responsibilities. Far different experience than what I am used to at this office. Tiffany was pleasant and ran an efficient front desk/lobby area. These two women fought over who was going to take the temperature for me and may family members and then the skinnier of the two shouted temps out inside the full office. I don't want other clients to know our temperatures...guess I am funny that way. The heavier set lady struggled to schedule a follow-up appointment so I suggest you ask your technician to do so before you leave the chair. I believe that the first person you meet at a business/service provider should bring their A game in the face of the customer. These ladies struggle and are not the best in class when it comes to customer services and pleasantries. I also do not believe in nepotism in a business because it significantly alters the culture and makes your best team members uncomfortable and eventually quiet. You could definitely tell that having the mother-in-law working at the front desk has changed the feel of the office and seems to have brought down the heart of the staff. The techs are quick and knowledgeable. And then there's Dr. Mike. He is so kind, understanding and friendly. He has taken all of us under his wing and guided us through the Brace Face stages. He explains everything in a way that we can understand. We love the atmosphere at Shine. The business used to be called Agenter Orthodontics but was changed to Shine because Dr. Mike and his team believe that Just Shine is a call to action that involves a personal surrender of everything under your sphere of influence so that you can reflect the light and love of God to others. You will hear Christian music playing while in the office. You will hear the team praying in the morning. There is a 'green room' for photos of kids when they are done with braces. There are candy jars for when you finish treatment and can finally get those sticky snacks you've waited for! The Shine Orthodontics team just added Dr. Ashley to the staff. We've only had a quick encounter with her but she's very nice and took good care of my daughter! We can't say enough good things about Shine Orthodontics. There are 3 locations- Lebanon, Maineville and Chillicothe. We are close enough to drive to 2 of those spots and we are happy to do so. I ended up coming here for a consultation before giving up, and was told by Dr. Logeman that I could just have a simple palate expander and then Invisalign. My own dentist didn't even believe the palate expander would work at 24, but it was very successful, and now I'm on to Invisalign! The end product of my teeth are projected to look perfect, which I never thought was possible. No matter if they reach "perfection" or not by the end of this process, I am so happy to have found an orthodontist who would work with my open bite without hesitation or surgery. I really appreciated he explained everything to my daughter in a way she'd understand and he does that every visit. His staff also does the same thing. Then they just make sure I understood what he told her. We compared a few places around before going with Lunt and he was the most affordable option price wise we found. I also appreciated the different ways to pay. The other big thing is that I really appreciate he has early morning hours so the kids don't have to miss a ton of school. That is hard to find and alone would make me choose him as an orthodontist.

His teeth did look perfect when G-wood took the braces off. Girdwood practically kicked us out of the office after making us sign a release. We paid over $5K and now because there was no retainer bonded to his bottom teeth, I have to find another dentist to redo his teeth entirely. I had an older son with a different orthodontist when we lived in Indy who bonded the retainers, and has had perfect teeth ever since. I would not recommend this practice. Very unprofessional. I'm very, very unhappy. Buyer beware.
