Pizza is great everyone there is very friendly. We get pizza from them every Monday for their pizza special. The employees there are very nice. I have never had a complaint about their service or quality. Food comes out quick and it's never cold. I would totally recommend this restaurant if you want some local Italian food. Excellent, well-priced food and quick & friendly service! My boyfriend & I stopped here by chance on our way home from Myrtle Beach. We were surprised by the great prices and swift service -- especially at 6pm on a Sunday. Everything we got was delicious -- the chicken parmigiana sub I had was perfection -- and although we were too stuffed for desserts the options were tempting. Giuseppe's has a family-friendly vibe and unique touches such as the model train on the ceiling and the stone fireplace at the back of the dining room. After living here for some years and being a regular at Giuseppes, I have noticed the food has gone downhill. Our pizza last night was terribly undercooked, raw onions and peppers. Coming from kings dominion we were beat , tired , sleepy and super hungry. The staff is super friendly and respectful and open. Me and a co-worker stopped by here at 8:15pm last night, being off the highway and so late we thought the food would not be great. We were in for a surprise, we ordered fries and they were out within 5 minutes and were probably the best fries I have had from a restaurant. I had the personalized Stromboli (it could have fed 2 people) my buddy had the Giuseppe chicken sandwich it looked and smelled awesome as and he said it was delicious as well. This restaurant was recommended by a co-worker and coming home from Richmond it was on the way so we stopped in. We both loved it and the food was great. The portions size is big with reasonable prices and the food is delicious. Without a doubt we will be going back here. Generous portions and good prices. Children's spaghetti with meatballs was enough for 2 adults! Kids plain cheese pizza was two slices. Delicious antipasto salad, delicious garlic knots. My husband got a mushroom cheesesteak and my father in law got the chicken parm sandwich, both medium size. Both were very satisfied and thought their sandwiches were delicious. Waitress was a little frantic, overall decent food. I had ravioli with tomato sauce, it was mediocre. My only major improvements would be to lighten up the sauce and cook the pasta a little longer. I also had the seafood pasta, it was also mediocre. Similar to the ravioli, it contained a whomping amount of marinara. Best place to eat in Ladysmith. I love their pizza and their gelato is awesome. They also have some good pasta dishes. My only complaint is that the place is LOUD, especially in the main dining room, maybe because of the vaulted ceilings. There's is an opening into the kitchen and when we went there on a recent Friday night all we could hear is kitchen noise and everyone in the dining room trying to talk over it. We couldn't even hold a conversation with each other. Getting the food to go and eating at home would probably been a better bet. read more

We first moved to the area about three months ago. We were looking forward to trying this restaurant. We had their spaghetti and meatballs a few times. Pretty good. Well, unfortunately, we had a bad experience two times in the last four weeks. Ordered meatballs and a salad with salami. Meatballs had a strange melted plastic taste and the salami was old and had the old, meat, brownish color. Luckily, no one got sick. Well, stupid enough we go back for a strombolli and pizza. The pizza was decent. The strombolli had spinach. I never thought an italian place would have canned spinach for pizzas. Yes, my strombolli had canned spinach. Yuck. Now, we will not be going back. Too bad, not like there are many choices near by. Drive the distance to Richmond or Fredericksburg, for better and fresher food. read more

Our family LOVES to eat here. We especially like how friendly everyone is, it is like you are part of thier family when you are here. The price is great and I can get in and get out quickly when needed, and when me and friends want to stay and talk they never make us feel like we are taking up space. Very disappointed in Giuseppe's. My family has dined here frequently since we moved to the area a couple years ago. The food has always been hit or miss, but my 5 yo has always enjoyed dining there. Tonight my family dined there for the last time. A large group of older men were seated near us. They were loud, obnoxious and worst of all were using volatile language. I asked to speak to the manager and to be moved. My daughter was just about in tears. He just kind of shrugged and stared at me. I asked for him to at least give us some boxes so we can get out of there. He walked over to the entrance to the dining room and just kind of watched the obnoxious group. Finally another waitress let us sit in another area. Three quarters of the restaurant was empty. We moved ourselves and all of our food and drinks with no help offered from the staff. When our waitress gave us the check she apologized for the wait, (the food did take forever to come out, but we never complained). We told her what the issue really was, paid for our meal, and left. The manager and the staff never even said a word about the incident. I guess the money the group was spending on all the alcohol was worth more to Giuseppe's than our repeat business. If you are looking for a bar with mediocre food and poor service Giuseppe's is the place for you. If you are looking for a family restaurant go elsewhere. read more

My family and I like to support the local businesses, and we tend to frequent Giuseppe's often. The staff is great and the menu is extensive. Having traveled around, I'm always leery of a restaurant that has a long menu b/c that leads to quick easy foods. Giuseppe's doesn't have a signature dish, and most of the food is not made from fresh ingredients, which is sad for a family-run Italian joint. They do need the help of a consultant to vamp up their menu. Their so-called spaghetti sauce, that they claim simmers all day, tastes like sauce right out of a can. I've eaten in top notch restaurants and even had Italian grandmas cook for me, so I know what Italian food is supposed to taste like. The food and pricing are reasonable. My kids do enjoy their pizzas. Their burger are great but they don't come with fries, so that's an added charge. And again, the staff is wonderful, very attentive and helpful. read more
