Feb, 2026. Louisa, VA. My husband and I visited Roma Italian Restaurant on a Saturday for lunch; this was our first visit to this restaurant. We were greeted quickly, and shown to our booth seats quickly. We asked (and were accommodated) to move over one booth as the original booth had a speaker with loud music directly over our heads. Food (3.5/5). We would be sharing our entrees, so I ordered a Mediterranean Salad ($11.95) to balance out my husband's heavier choice of the Tour of Italy ($21.95). The latter was described as a plate with lasagna, manicotti, cannelloni, and a shell, with meat sauce and baked cheese, served with a homemade roll and your choice of soup, salad, or French fries. The large oval plate arrived with three pieces of tubular pasta and a slice of lasagna covered with sauce and melted cheese (but no filled shell). The tubular pasta pieces were filled with a variety of meat and/or cheese fillings. Overall, the taste was very good; we especially liked the meat-filled pasta. However, the consistency of two of the pastas were very dry and were lightly cracking and the size of the lasagna slice was on the smaller side. My husband selected the French fries as his side; they were excellent -- and were served hot and crispy before the rest of the meal. As mentioned, I ordered the Mediterranean salad, which was described as having mixed greens, tomato, feta, green and black olives, onions, and mushrooms, with choice of dressing. I was already surprised that a Mediterranean salad wouldn't have cucumbers and garbanzo beans, but was even more surprised when the salad arrived with cold cuts (salami, pepperoni, ham) and mozzarella cheese slivers (and no feta). It resembled more of a chef salad (sans the eggs) than the Mediterranean one described on the menu. Upon asking the waitress if this were a Mediterranean salad, she went back to the kitchen where she was assured that it was. I am not a vegetarian, but some family members are, and this would've been a big problem if served to them. Overall, the salad was okay but I WAS disappointed by the substitution of mozzarella cheese for the feta, the use of canned mushrooms in lieu of fresh, and by the lack of some ingredients (cucumbers, garbanzo beans) that generally are associated with a Mediterranean salad. On the positive side, the salad dressing, served separately, was homemade and tasty. [The restaurant makes seven varieties of dressing which are available for purchase for $7.95 for a pint]. Overall, the portions were generous (except for the lasagna piece) and we took home leftovers to eat tomorrow. Service (3/5). Our waitress was sweet and tried to be helpful, but it seemed that she was rather new and not sufficiently trained. For instance, she had to return to the front of the restaurant to find out what the specials of the day were, and couldn't answer some questions about what entrees would be served with. There was free and plentiful parking in the strip mall's lot. Access was easy off E. Main Street. We will return again, likely to try their pizza and cheesesteaks. read more

The best cannoli I HAVE EVER HAD! Romas is one of our go to local spots. The food is your average run of the mill Italian food. Their sweet ranch is different but quite yummy. The food is a bit overpriced in my opinion. But let me tell you, their dessert is where you are missing out. Tonight, we tried their cannoli and better than anything I have ever had before. Generally speaking, a good place and decent food. But, prices have risen to, in some cases, touristy prices. Another negative is that they will not substitute one veggie for another (say, switch fries to another veggie) without charging for the item as an extra side. Always great food no matter if getting it to go or eating at the restaurant. Waitstaff is always friendly and quick. The homemade Ranch dressing is the best. If you have kids they have a nice play area with some arcade games, bounce house and few other things for them to do. Pizza and the Chichen Alfredo are favorites. read more

Driven by curiosity and sheer boredom, I attended a special event here while visiting family in Louisa. It was an event for GOP politician Nick Freitas (who is running for Congress). I was utterly aghast to see the restaurant wasn't even making a pretense of following VA's Covid-19 health regulations. No masks on employees, no masks on guests while they're not eating, utterly insufficient social distancing. Zero attempt at safety. After seeing their total disregard for a communicable disease, I wouldn't try their food. I doubt they follow VA health code either. To the people wondering if they sanitize their menus, I think not. I wouldn't walk in Roma's again unless I were dressed in a Hazmat suit. I hope I don't get sick from this... Never again! read more

I totally expected this place to have sub par food quality based off of the appearance & my own previous experiences of small town Italian restaurants. Ohhh man looks can be deceiving, everything was delicious & fresh as could be. We ordered the Marsala chicken dish & the Fried Cod with French Fries. Our server was lovely, responsive & addressed every question or concern we had. Overall a pleasant experience & I highly recommend this place! read more

Date of visit: August 1, 2020 We are on a quest for a good pizza in the Lake Anna area. We've tried a few places and Meh... Then on a Lake Anna Facebook page, people were mentioning Roma. So we gave it a try. We started with a Greek salad. I mentioned to our server when ordering that we would be splitting the salad. Our server split it for us! That always scores big points with me. It shows she was listening and wanted to make it easier for us. The salad by the way was wonderful! Lots of feta...which makes me happy. We also ordered a pizza with onions, sausage and mushrooms. The onions were very thinly sliced, sliced sausage (I prefer crumbled...but that's ok, this was good!) and fresh mushrooms. We have found our place...this pizza was the right thickness, softer crust...great flavors! We even heated it up the next day. NEVER have we had leftover pizza heat up well. Even from our favorite pizza place in Maryland! I honestly would've given it a 3 1/2 if possible and that is mainly for the inside of the restaurant. PLEASE update the decor and get rid of the creepy kid zone! And do you sanitize your menus??? Please switch to paper so that they can be thrown away. All that being said... We are so happy and we will be back for our weekend pizza! (and to try other foods on the menu). read more

DH and I were passing through Louisa and found Obrigado's too full to get something quick to eat. So we opted for Roma instead. We were greeted and seated promptly. However, I could hardly make up my mind on what to order due to the sensory overload of just looking at this place's decor! It looks like it was a decorated by Andrianna LaCerva on crack. The place is loaded with faux marble columns, urns, statues, etc. all matching the pink leather booth seats. Just about every single corner and surface had something "Roman-y" sitting on it. Hilarious! Roma had a fairly extensive menu, but DH and I decided to keep it simple and order a pizza and two salads. I was pleased upon seeing my salad when it arrived as it was generous in size and had many good things loaded on it. But the blue cheese dressing was very disappointing as it was thin and watery. Not sure if it came out of the bottle that way or if the owner was trying to stretch what was on hand. I would have been better off sticking with an oil and vinegar based dressing. The pizza arrived fairly quickly and was fine and filling. But the reason I am giving this place 1 star instead of 2 is that the front door is rigged with a bell that clangs loudly and continuously when every customer arrives and when every customer leaves. It was like having dinner during a 45 minute fire drill, making a mediocre meal completely intolerable. read more

I work here currently and have before for about a year. My favorite things on the menu are the chicken marsala with french fries because the gravy is amazing and i love dipping it in the homemade wine sauce(its like a thin gravy) The super combo pizza(our supreme) bc vinny is amazing with the pizzas. I love the grilled chicken wrap and the soups of the day bc they are all amazing. ive never had a complaint on the salads or the lasagna!! read more

Don't eat here. My family and I went to Roma's for dinner as there was a band playing. The food was awful. The penne vodka was sweet, the stuffed ravioli was garbage, and the spaghetti was spongy. The waiter as nice and was new to the place. Take my advice, do NOT eat here. Ever. read more

Just recently moved to Lake Anna, and this was our first foray out for dinner. Overall, it was okay. My wife had pasta with marinara, and I had the chicken parmigiana, both which were pretty good. The side salads we had were very good. Where it dropped from 4 stars to 3, was with the service. We made the mistake of sitting in the room off to the side, which was where the hostess seated us. Our waitress seemed to be working tables in the side room, the main room, and the bar. So we waited for everything. I don't recall her checking back with us after she delivered the food, until she finally brought the check. Not a bad experience, and I might go back again. Very welcoming staff and very friendly! The food was wonderful. Spaghetti with tomato sauce was the best and very generous! The dinner salad had black olives! What a plus! The steak and shrimp was ordered by my friend and I was told it was also wonderful! The onion straws on top were a big plus! The restaurant was clean and well taken care of. I hadn't been to Louisa since 1989. Went on my first date at Roma's back then. Pizza was good I remember. Today, while visiting my parents, They decided to come to Louisa for lunch. I agreed with a sigh. Roma's was a little different upon walk in. No more checkered table cloths and it seemed to be split into sections for smoking and non smoking. (Like smoke won't travel outside the bar area??)... We were seated and orders placed with a very friendly and personable young girl. She smiled and spoke to us like we were good friends. I think she's the best part of this place. She came by often to make sure we were good to go on food and refills. The portions here are really big. My dad got a chicken cheesesteak and fries. I can't believe he ate that whole thing. Mom got shrimp and a baked potato (?? IKR??) My daughter got a chicken wrap and I ordered veggie pizza rolls but was served a veggie strombolli. No big deal about that though. It's all the same. But that sucker was huge. The veggies were crisp and seemed fresh enough so I was ok with it. It tasted pretty good. Everybody at the table seemed to enjoy the food but again, the waitress was the star. Other servers should be so nice! I would come back if I were in town again. read more

They have gluten free pizza! This is great for those who eat a gluten free diet. We shared a small sausage and mushroom pizza with regular crust and it was really good! I grew up in CT where the pizza is amazing because of all the mom n' pop shops around there (think of mystic pizza), which is why I have a high standard for pizza. You can tell from the taste of it that it's made from fresh ingredients. If you live in Louisa or you're just stopping by I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

Stopped in while our car was in the shop getting fixed. The place is decorated fairly well with a couple columns, pictures of Italy and a burbling water feature. The hostess tried to seat my wife and I in the side room where it was dark and cave like and we asked if we could be seated in the main room, no problem. We have been to Italy many times and I even proposed to me Espouse in the Sistine Chapel, so we have had authentic Italian food, in Italy. I love Italian food. We have eaten here before and weren't disappointed on that visit. This time we shared a medium White pizza with spinach and a couple iced teas. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the tea, well, it's hard to screw up iced tea.. Not that it hasn't been done, but it was fine. Our server was attentive and quick with refills and the check. Roma's is exactly the kind of restaurant you expect to find in a town of 1400 people 9 miles from the interstate. It is unapologetically local flavor. The decor is fun and punctuated with photos of years of gathering and events at the restaurant. The lunch buffet was straightforward. Fresh ingredients and several homemade pasta salads. The pizza was good with a thin, chewy crust. All you can eat for about 8 dollars. I had to clear sense that everyone eating there was a regular except for me, yet the service was friendly and everyone clearly enjoyed their meals. There is an arcade area for children. In the unlikely event that life takes you to Louisa, virginia, Roma's is worth trying. read more

I was in Luisa and hungry so my family stopped in. To be clear, although I'm giving two stars, they were so packed. Everything we ordered was like they were check boxing the recipes. I had the the lasagna and all the ingredients were there on the dish. However the meat was piled at one side the noodles were in the opposite side of the plate. Between those was the ricotta and it all was covered in an a blanket of mozzarella and in a pool sauce. The pizza was very reminiscent of a homemade pizza. The crust was very soft and mushy. Two of us ordered french fries and the they were extremely short. The blooming onion looked like shredded beef. I watched as a group of four waited to be acknowledged by the staff and then wait 10 more to be seated. To top it off there was an additional 3% charge if you didn't pay in cash. Louisa was a central location to meet my sons so we decided to eat at Roma's for an Easter lunch I really liked it. Food was excellent and the waitress did a great job. We had enough food for another meal. I had the meaty pasta with pepperoni and asked that they spice it up which they did. Everyone liked their dish. I heard multiple compliments about the garden salad from my family. They had plenty of fresh mozzarella on it which was fantastic. If I'm back in the area, I'd eat there again read more

The food and portions are great. They are kind of pricey but most Italian places are. The service is their biggest problem! The waitresses usually have attitudes or just don't come around to check on you. Their second biggest weakness is appetizers. Roma's is an anomaly; it can be a terrific italian restaurant that'll leave you glowing when your meal is done, or it can be a place with spotty food and a so-so wait staff. I can't seem to figure them out. When I first came to Louisa in '04 my family was delighted with the place...almost every meal was perfect! But some times after 2010 we found the food wanting, and we soon stopped going. But after some time off we decided a week ago (March 2016) to take another shot and, to our delight, our meal was delicious. I think your best bets are the pizzas and the salads -- especially with their particular take on Ranch dressing: it's rich and sweet and worth a visit all by itself. Their pizzas have never failed for me or my family...they are always delicious and the dough is delicious and chewy, and the toppings have been great. I especially love that the anchovies are really tasty and plentiful...if you like anchovies (and many don't) this is a delicious topping that has never gone wrong for me. I've always enjoyed the pasta, but my wife -- who is of recent Italian heritage -- thinks it can be spotty. Her problems were generally with the white sauces, which I don't order at most Italian places. As for the steaks and chicken and such, we have had a couple of problems there...we rarely order it (as this IS an Italian restaurant), but we've had some less than stellar results with the steaks, their degree of done-ness, and the chicken nuggets have seemed microwaved. ALL in all, Roma's does Italian food best, and their salads and pizzas are terrific. I think they just need to do a more consistent job of it some of the other selections. read more

Wife and I plus our 2 grandkids were camping at Lake Anna and decided it was time to put aside campfire meals. After stopping at several other restaurants which had long wait list we stumbled upon Roma's. So glad we did, we ordered pizza, bake lasagna and kids meal of chicken fingers with fries. The order was quick and hot and everything was great. Vinny makes most everything fresh at the restaurant and you could tell the difference. Our service by Brenda was attentive but not rushed. But Vinny went beyond by opening the kids zone just for the 2 grandkids who had a blast on the variety of games, rock wall, bouncing house, etc. The finale was the tiramisu and cannolis which all of us enjoyed. This is a stop you need to make. And don't forget to ask Vinny about being Mr Virginia not that many years ago. read more

Do not believe the bad reviews! This place is under new management. Vinny has turned this place around! Food was awesome! Service was awesome! They were understaffed due to several servers being sick and the 2 waitresses did an awesome job! Even the busboy was serving and was awesome as well! Even with being understaffed, we could never tell, food came out quickly and was delicious! It was a great ending to a day on the boat and will definitely go there again. I was not expecting much based on the food choices around here. We ordered 2 medium pizzas as a last resort tonight. One was a white pie with spinach and a sausage, mushroom and onion pizza. I must say that it's some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. Not only did it exceed my expectations but it blew them away. Crust was amazing and the toppings were perfect. So I drove 30 minutes on a Sunday night. Got to the restaurant at 925PM (posted hours for Sunday are 11am-10PM) and was told that they can only do a pizza because they were close. I love Italian food, so was excited to find an Italian restaurant when I first moved to Louisa. Though the decor was a little tacky for my liking, they seemed to be pretty busy, so we gave it a shot. We loved the play area and the fact that we could eat back there so our kids could play and we could keep an eye on them. I also thought the menu had plenty of choices. However, that was the only thing good at this restaurant. The food tasted like it had been microwaved, and given the speed at which it was served to us, that's a real possibility. Though the pasta was cooked well, the sauces tasted horrible. My husband and I even went back two more times to try different menu items, and none of them were good. Even things that you can't mess up, such as salad, looked thrown together and cheap, with iceburg lettuce and a couple of stray tomato slices (even though we both requested no tomatoes). The lunch buffet consisted of pizza that looked like it had been sitting out for days and had dough as tough as leather. This restaurant has been a a mainstay in this town for years. Recently unter the new owner Scotty the food has improved alot. As locals we tend to eat at Romas fairly often. You'll get good food at a reasonable price at this resturant. read more
