Service during the week sucks, everyone goes to the restaurant next door maybe they have better service. No one at the bar most of the time.

This restaurant (just off the interstate) with a nice bar area had yummy food for reasonable prices. The homemade blue cheese dressing was delicious and I took home some too. Our waitress was chatty but not too much so. On the way to the washroom there was a lot of interesting historical photos that gave me a sense of the area I was visiting. read more

The food took a while to come out and was the okayest pizza I have ever had in my life. Also insanely overpriced. $17 for some mid burger?? $25 for a calzone?? Went here on a whim. Very explicitly explained that my daughter has a seafood allergy. The person was obviously not part of the wait staff because he didn't understand what we were drawing pictures to explain. Asked several questions before we ordered so that there would be no confusion. Was reassured that there was no cross contamination. Everything has its own cooking place. So my daughter orders a sub. It was about the Ladysmith Road exit where someone was going to die when we decided to just eject for a minute and get our wits about us. My husband and I had an absolutely OUTSTANDING meal and overall experience at The Timbers last night! The Chicken Marsala was the BEST I've had in years (since I was at Carmines in Manhattan)! The burger my husband had came out looking like it should be on the cover of a food magazine and it has the flavor to match. Everything they serve is made fresh to order with local products - beef included! We both noticed that even the salad dressing was amazing...yep, they make that too! Unfortunately, I only thought to take pictures once we realized how scrumptious the food was. Heehee! Oops. The thing about this place is the meat... they use the nearby Charity Hill Farm for their beef products, and the taste is superior. Stopped for lunch while traveling south and what a disappointment. The first clue to move on was that there was only one table of customers at lunch time. I ordered a burger that looked promising, but had absolutely no taste. I don't think there was any seasoning at all. The chips were overdone and extremely bland. We found this spot via Yelp while at a travel baseball tournament in Legacy Park. After a long, hot day on the field, we headed up the road to grab a bite for dinner. The menu was extensive with lots of options from sandwiches to salads to pizza & Italian options. We decided on a wood fired pizza and the special of the day, smoked salmon on a croissant roll with capers & cream cheese. Add a couple of local draft beers & it was all delicious. Calamari was tasty, not overly breaded but very thin and stringy. He ordered the clam chowder: very watery with few clams and even less potatoes. Needed salt and pepper in a big way. The reuben was delicious with plenty of corned beef and sauerkrat but also came with cole slaw. Initially okay, the turn-off on the coleslaw was when the raisin showed up. Definitely not a fan. For great service, quick and with a smile ask for Erica. She is absolutely amazing. I came in with a Church group of 15, we were served by Erica who was on point from the start. Drinks, appetizer, main meal, refills, extra request, were all provided with no delay. We never had to ask for anything. Everything was delicious and she made sure we had everything we wanted or needed. She is so sweet and accurate. We will request her from now on when we go as a family as well.
