My wife and I have done many projects around the house. From remodeling the house, to putting in a new door, we've worked with many contractors. At the end, we're always satisfied with the product, but we always reflect on the process.. how smoothly / turbulent it was, how stressful /easy it was. How involved / not involved in the decision process. How easily/difficult it was to communicate. With our landscape remodel, its something that I will look back at and remember how wonderful the process was. We spoke to a few contractors before Anthony. Our neighbor recommended Anthony who just did their yard. We were pretty set on going with someone else until Anthony showed up. He's just a great guy, who isn't trying to win your business, but trying to bring the best for you. He gives you ideas, brings you into the decision making process. He tells you no when something is a bad idea - even when he could say yes and take your money. The whole process was wonderful. The end result.. remarkable. We are lucky we found these guys. I told Anthony afterwards - "one day I will move out of this house and sadly, I can't take the work you did with me. But I will never forget the experience you gave me. He removed the roots carefully, paid close attention to detail, and surprised us by applying weed killer between the pavers and shrubs. Our family was impressed. For the 2nd visit in March 2026, unfortunately the company did not meet the same standard. We communicated via the same number, so they were aware of that we were interested in the same work as before last year (weed removing, trimming of tree shrub) This time, a different employee (H.H.), performed the work. He trimmed the trees and shrubs a bit more quickly than Francisco did, which was not an issue in itself. However, he didn't remove the overgrown roots, but rather just trimmed them, which caused the plants to grow back much faster than before. He also didn't apply any weed killer. After we paid via Zelle, we noticed that our 24-hr security sign had been snapped in half and left on the same spot it was planted. No shrubs were around that area. The employee didn't mention to us at all, but when we asked him what happened, he initially said he didn't know. Only after we saw pictures showing that the sign was intact, he apologized. Additionally, another blue security sign next to our AT&T fiber box was missing. The sign had been in place for months and was clearly visible from the driveway since the shrubs didn't fully cover it. The worker claimed he never saw it. We understand accidents can happen, but the lack of communication and transparency is unfortunate. We are likely moving on to another company.

Great spot! Was looking for some small white rock and small lava rock for a planter I just built…read more The yard is kind of small but it's organized down to a science! They have literally everything contractors could possibly need from sand, P gravel, stone, rocks, brick, decorative concrete pavers, large landscape boulders, mortar, everything. I didn't need much, as my planter is only about 7' by 2' max, and I was afraid that maybe they didn't do small sales - but they did and I was able to fill 2 5 gal buckets when what I needed :) I was able to find small/ medium white rocks and also brown lava rocks. The Only thing they don't have is small black lava rock but they do have that in a medium size :) The younger guy that works there also offered to help me get my stone together. Chivalry is not dead folks LOL! So that was appreciated. I don't know what I was thinking, by showing up without a shovel, but they let me use one of theirs.

He gave me two estimates, one to fix the major stuff, the other to fix all the issues and update and add sprinkler heads for appropriate coverage. I chose the total fix option, and I'm so glad I did. His crew, including his Dad, was there on Tuesday morning and went right to work. His Dad spent more than 30 years working on Cal-Trans projects, and he knows and applies their specifications, for a quality job. My system had several breaks, which were wasting water BIG TIME! The first visit cost $1,133 and covered the initial setup and repairs to both my front and back yard sprinkler systems. They did a good job and I was happy with the results. I brought them back a second time for $1,716 to handle wiring, fix some broken sprinkler components in the front yard, and extend the system to cover additional areas. The wiring of both the front and back systems was done perfectly, and I appreciated that part of the work. That said, if you have fruit trees or citrus in your yard, be aware that they do not have the expertise to handle specialized watering needs for those plants. The sprinklers near my fruit trees were set up incorrectly, and a professional arborist I later consulted told me the configuration would overwater the trees. I called OC Sprinkler Doctor to come back and fix the issue, but they never returned my call. Now I am in a position where I will need to hire a professional arborist who also can do landscaping to come back and fix the sprinkler system again, likely at a cost of $3,000 or more, when I am able to afford it. They are reasonably priced and capable of handling standard sprinkler lawn work, but the lack of specialized knowledge around vegetables, fruit trees and citrus trees, combined with the complete silence when I tried to get the issue resolved, may end up costing me far more in the end.
