George, the owner of GK Construction was very polite and friendly. Over the years I heard several stories of other construction jobs gone bad, so I had my concerns when starting our rebuild. However, that wasn't the case with our home. George worked with our insurance adjuster Jackie of Mercury (who was great!) to get our home repaired to "as good, or better" condition. George's team was excellent, for example, our project manager, Craig Evans, was always on time, responsive to calls and texts, as well as being very friendly and easy to work with. Craig always worked with well the team to get the work done to a high-quality standard. Another important team member is Sergio who provided many of the sub-contractor workers for carpentry, drywall, paint, and masonry. I got to know these workers, and I felt they were trustworthy to the point I could leave them inside my home and garage without having to watch them. As a homeowner this was very important! GK construction has been a huge relief and blessing during a very stressful time. They were very patient with us throughout the process. Any time I had a question, I felt validated and had thorough answers given to me. Originally we were told the job could take up to a year. Our home was just completed in 7 months time. I wish I could leave a 0 star review. Unfortunately my landlord hired George/Kevorg (the owner), Craig (contractor), Jesus (worker) and their crew for a remodel after a flood, through Mercury ins. This has been a nightmarish ordeal, from putting in the wrong size faucet handles that left visible rings to trying to get away with putting deformed, water-damaged drawers into a newly built vanity (I had to beg and plead for new drawers (that mercury paid for btw). Everything that went wrong was blamed on my unit being old and therefore not fixable. I have pictures to document everything in case anyone wants to see the quality of their work. My very elderly Father-in-law had a slab leak in two bedrooms of his single story house. GK Construction, in particular project manager Craig Evans, was the one positive in an otherwise miserable insurance paid repair (avoid Mercury Insurance!). Craig handled our project like it was his top priority, even though I'm sure he had many projects going. He was on time, responsive to calls and texts , professional and so easy to work with. The carpenter (Gary) who replaced dry wall and woodwork was also very professional, talented and easy to work with. George the owner was wonderful about getting our project rolling right away which also was very appreciated, especially since Mercury insurance was terribly slow with the claim (claim took FIVE MONTHS!) The walls and ceiling in my guest room had to be completely demolished due to damage that resulted from a leak in a pipe in my attic. My home insurer selected GK Construction to do the repair work. GK Constriction completed the work quickly and professionally. The workers came every day on time and worked all day, so the work took much less time than I thought it would. In addition, the owner is honest. Although I had paid all costs related to purchasing and installing the new carpeting that replaced the damaged carpeting, the insurance company paid GK Construction for those costs instead of me and GK Construction promptly paid me the amount owed me. A slow leak under my bathroom sink was hidden by the cabinet beneath the vanity- until I suddenly saw the paint buckling in the dining room ceiling and wall directly below it. I found this company at a stressful time - following a flood in my house. I'm a mom of 3 on my own and needed a good solid recommendation which I received and found this company. The work that was needed was extensive from my whole ground wooden floor being replaced to the simpler painting of the walls plus everything in between. I called and George himself came to see the damage and the first thing I noted was that he was punctual - the respect shown for my time was appreciated - anyone who has dealt with contractors know the struggle is real! George was friendly yet professional and put me at ease as I had so many questions. Don't use this company unless you want to get RIPPED OFF!! I had a pipe that sprung a leak in my garage. The plumber cut a chunk of drywall out that was about 8' X 2' and a hole thru the stucco on the outside of the house that was about 8 inches in diameter. GK Construction came in and patched it all up. For a job that would've cost $700-800 to fix max they ended up charging a whopping $3129!!!! Never been so ripped off in my life!! Would NEVER recommend them to anyone!!! If I could I wouldn't have given them any stars!!!! Absolutely terrible!!! read more

We were recommended George (GK construction) but wish we went with another contractor. George's team made huge mistakes, one that left our wall bent and not straight. Instead of pointing out the mistake he said nothing and hoped we wouldn't notice. When we did he said it was already there, we have before, during, and after pictures proving it was his team's mistake but he would not correct it. They also cleaned their paint and cement tools in our kitchen sink which of course clogged the sink. A Plummer had to come and remove the pipe which was coated in cement. Do not trust GK construction with your project. read more

After the most recent rain storms to Los Angeles did serious damage to my roof, walls, and flooring, I was, to say the least, distraught. Luckily, GK Construction came to the rescue and made my house even more beautiful than before it had been wrecked. George and crew worked efficiently and so well, making sure everything was restored to perfect condition, and being thoroughly communicative throughout. You often hear the horror stories with contractors, but I can safely say that George and team are the opposite of that. They always communicated time frames clearly and met them to a tee, were available whenever I called or texted - even on weekends (which I know, I probably shouldn't have bothered them, but kudos to the team for being responsive), and handled so much of the burden for me that I can't even imagine how much more difficult it would have been without them there. They helped coordinate other vendors that needed to come in and pack out the house, worked with my roofer while they were already doing all of the interiors, and did all of that while still completing fantastic work and being genuinely nice people.
