I visited The Marksman Indoor Gun Range on a Sunday, just one month after my trip to Wade's Indoor…read moreGun Range. The parking lot was clean and the building is in good shape, though it could use a refresh. The staff was friendly, and the older gentleman who explained the range rules was engaging and easy to talk with. He took a little longer with me than I expected, but that likely had to do with a couple factors--either way, he was personable. My membership was reasonably priced, and because of my age I received a discount. Once I was in the range area, everything looked very clean and well organized, with clear signage and defined procedures. One difference I noticed versus Wade's: there wasn't a range master on hand in the same way to support guests and help ensure rules were being followed. After that finishing up in the range I headed back to the front in the retail area. I decided I wanted to buy a couple holsters. However, I stood at the counter for about 10 minutes and it became clear I wasn't going to receive service. The surprising part was that I was the only person standing there. At that point, I understand why I didn't get served, but it felt disappointing. And the irony is that I likely would have spent more money since the range desk experience elsewhere was great. No worries--there are plenty of other places to buy holsters. When I exited, I thanked them, but I didn't get a response (or they may not have heard me). Overall, I'm mixed on guest service... Since I'm a member, I'll probably give it another try.

The people are friendly. Lane fees are little lower than what Rain City used to charge($15) and…read moreeven less than what Pivotal (the new location) charges ($18) but there is that one time $15 fee so it will only be cheaper if you go more than once. My only complaints about the range is it's not temperature controlled so if it's hot outside, your hands will sweat...and no one like a slippery firearm. If it's cold, bring gloves. The last time I was there (which was maybe year and a half), their retrievers were in need some TLC. Covers were off and some didn't function at all. Their lane separators need more coverage because I don't like getting pepper by casings from the left lane. There aren't a ton of ranges around the King/Pierce area so you're probably going to go to what is closest. This isn't a bad place but it could use some comfort upgrades.

Went to the store Dec 8 and ordered a shotgun, paid cash, and was told it has been ordered and I…read moreshould receive it in about a week. A week later, I checked and was told it is still on the way.....holiday shipping, etc. To sum it up, I have been buying, selling (a few) and trading firearms for over 50 years and this is BY FAR the worst experience I have EVER had. Finally, I went to the store yesterday and demanded my money back and they did that. Echoing the other one star ratings on Yelp, I should have taken that into consideration. Makes me wonder how they are still in business.

I'd like to provide a comprehensive overview of my experience with this gun store, detailing the…read moretimeline of events to illustrate the operational challenges I encountered. To preface, I must express a strong reservation about recommending this store, particularly for individuals seeking to acquire firearms through an ordering process. My initial interaction occurred when preparing for a significant hunting trip scheduled for December 16th. Assuming ample time, I decided to order a shotgun from their website on November 1st, given its unavailability in-store, despite the website indicating a stock of six units. The transaction unfolded with my credit card being charged on November 2nd, accompanied by an email projecting a delivery timeframe of 4-7 business days. My concern arose when no tracking number accompanied this communication. On November 8th, I attempted to gain clarity on the order status via email, yet received no response. November 10th prompted a phone inquiry, where the individual, after obtaining my order number, assured me of an imminent arrival without providing substantial details. Subsequent efforts on November 14th to seek information via email proved futile. A second phone call on November 16th met with a less-than-enthusiastic response from the personnel, who, unable to provide tracking information, cited supplier constraints. November 22nd marked another call to inquire about my order, with a recurring assurance of imminent arrival attributed to holiday order influx. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I agreed to check again the following week. November 28th necessitated yet another call, resulting in the revelation that my order had not been processed correctly. An apology was extended, and an overnight shipment was promised, along with a commitment to a full refund if not received by the next week. December 4th saw another call, with an explanation that holiday-related shipping delays were occurring, projecting a delivery by December 8th. However, the firearm did not arrive, and the assurance of a Saturday delivery came with the inconvenience of the store being closed, necessitating a Monday pickup. On December 11th, when inquiring about the firearm's status, I received the disheartening news that it had not arrived, and tracking information was unavailable. Frustrated, I opted for an immediate refund, having reached the limit of my patience with the prolonged and uncertain process. Undoubtedly one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a shop. From initiating the order on November 1st to December 11th, the entire process was riddled with unfulfilled promises and blatant dishonesty Update. I wrote this towards the second week of December, and since then I have ordered the original shotgun I want and two others from a different gun shop. Today's date 1/7/2024 I have received all three shotguns and have 2 rifles in route from a local shop in yelm
