Started using mobile vet due to a pet that had severe anxiety in the car and vet office. Unfortunately, they rush through every appointment and are not thorough. I had a vet tell me two of my pets had symptoms of an issue they wanted to monitor. Same vet also said one of my pets might have cancer, without any clear indication that was true (it was not). I have a 140 pound GSD and getting him to the vet alone is a struggle but he recently was having trouble getting up due to a hind leg injury so a mobile vet was the only option. This was by far the most exceptional service I've ever received for my boy, they called me Monday morning and said they could squeeze him in at the end of their route for the day and even at 6:30 PM when the work day should be done Dr. Freeman and the vet tech with her treated Bosco with care and compassion as if he was the first patient of the day. She constantly checked in with me days after and made herself available for any questions of concerns I had. I could not get him to take the pill antibiotics she prescribed him and she took the time to call a compounding pharmacy to see if we could get him the meds in liquid form and I had them by the next day. I will be using them for as long and my sweet boy is around even for regular wellness visits! 12/10 stars for this amazing staff. read more

TL;DR: affordable, convenient, kind, and knowledgeable. If you AREN'T going this route, I would highly recommend. Less stress for everyone and the staff goes beyond. ------------ I really love this vet. My family recommended them when I moved to town and I haven't wanted my cats to see anyone else. Four main reasons: 1) I have three cats so getting to the vet is, well, literally like herding cats. Having a full service vet roll up to your door is incredibly handy for my pets' and my stress levels. I usually bring my cats out to their van, but they will come in from my understanding. 2) they are SO good at communication. If I have a concern, they are fast to respond. That being said, if they can fit me in their packed schedules, they will; if not, I'm not left in a pickle. They make every attempt to figure out how to support whatever my cats may have needed even if they can't get to me immediately (and they do triage and consult. Also appreciated) 3) they are flexible!! I'm ok with getting a window for them to visit, but also, if my cat magically heals itself (as they do), they have no problem when you tell them in advance that your animal no longer needs to be seen. 4) they are AFFORDABLE. Three cat annual visits have been CHEAPER with Rockin Pets Rollin Vets than when I've had one cat brought in at other places. They don't skimp on their customer service and level of care either; it exceed other locations. Give them a call. Your pet (and your anxiety) will thank you. read more

They are super, SUPER pushy about adding testing and procedures you don't need. My "baby" just needed his yearly shots and since we moved last year his last mobile vet didn't come to our new area so we contacted Rollin' Vets thinking it would be similar service. Very, very wrong. With them it's all about how much money they can get from you at the time of the visit vs how your pet is doing. My boy is in great health, so, again, just needed his shots and just a well visit. His only issue is that he has been having some allergy issues recently so when we brought that up, they prescribed Aboquel. Ok fine right? No, they gave me a 10 day supply and charged me a full 30 day price!! That would also be from the most expensive pharmacy for a full month. Price gouging at it's finest. It's the equivalent of that joke about a $20 aspirin in the hospital and a $400 toilet seat at the White House. No joke. So, that tells me they aren't concerned about my baby at all, just their bottom line. I completely felt they did not care. It was just a job to do, it's like having that heathcare provider that you know is just there for the paycheck going through the motions, and not because they care about their patients. No chit chat about my boy, just money talk. So $348 for shots and a full month supply of Apoquel which we DID NOT receive, only 10 days worth!!! ........and they acted like that was doing us a favor. Plus, the hard pushing of other services that we didn't need.....no thank you. I will do anything for our boy, even provide for him before ourselves, but that doesn't excuse the greed. The first time we called Rollin' Vets for our cat, the doctor was fantastic. Unfortunately, he no longer works for that company. A couple of days ago, we called back Rollin' Vets because one of our cats is constipated and could not eliminate. We were worried as she started vomiting yellow discharges. Rollin' Vets came yesterday and for one hour tried to get the feces out of our poor cat. Enemas after enemas and trying to go up her anus with the doctor finger. It was truly a horrible experience, the cat who is very gentle screamed several times and even bit the man who was poorly holding up by the neck. She is 15 years old and has never scratched or bit anyone in her entire life. My heart was broken, especially that after all that horrendous experience , they could not help her! Today, without prior consent, the company charged us $305 on a credit card we no longer use. This charge is quite expensive for an inadequate work that left the cat worse off. I had to contact them to have the charge voided and gave them a new credit card. I suggested that $250 was a reasonable charge based on the results of the visit but they would not bulge. Regardless of the price, I did not find the two persons (prefer not to name) that came yesterday very professional and all the doctor could tell us before leaving is that if it did not get better to take our cat to an emergency clinic. Like we do not know what to do if the situation does not improve! We are extremely disappointed by the service our cat received yesterday. I assisted them during the whole time and it was a very painful experience for me as well. The cat was totally traumatized and was left wet and dirty even after showering her back end in the sink. I would no longer recommend this company to anyone. The quality of the doctors is obviously not the same as a couple of years ago. We have an orange tabby who is the sweetest, most loving animal - unless he has to go to the vet. Then, he turns into a hissing, growling, yowling, demonic banshee. Because he doesn't like to go to the vet, it's better if the vet comes in to him. We had used a different mobile vet for our two cats, but that vet was on vacation when made initial contact, so we chose South by South Vets as our backup. That vet is now our first choice. When we called, Bobby was very friendly and professional. He worked to get our records from our previous vet, and then called us back to tell us that the cats really didn't need their shots right then. We made an appointment a few months out, and received periodic reminders that it was coming up. South by South Vets came within the window promised in a state-of-the art van that can accommodate anything from a simple exam to a dental cleaning to full-on surgery. Dr. Ford and Kimberly did their exam and injections in a bathroom where we'd confined the cats and were patient, kind and, most importantly, brought treats. There was a little hissing, but no histrionics. Typically after a visit to the vet, our cats are out of sorts for a day or two, but after the vet and tech left, they acted like nothing had happened. The only downside: It's a little more expensive than a standard vet (and a LOT more expensive if you buy flea treatment from them) but it's totally worth it if you have an animal that can't handle going out to a vet. South by South Vets is HIGHLY recommended. read more

SXSV is an amazing vet service. Dr. Ford was available on a SUNDAY. Not only that, it was Memorial weekend! SXSV sends you a text 10-15 minutes before they arrive. A window of time is provided and they do arrive during the timeframe as promised. Dr. Ford was kind and patient with my questions. The mobile vet is clean, air conditioned, and innovative. She was able to diagnose and provide antibiotics for my yorkie on the spot. They even have flea and heartworm medication stocked. SXSV has a brick and mortar and delivery service for medication. I also really liked that they honor their limitations as a mobile vet and try not to overdo it. They will refer you to an animal hospital for more severe scenarios. In the future, I will be using their services again, and recommending them to friends and family. read more

I LOVE South By South Vets! Their prices are in line with other vets in the area, and they come to you! Why would you make another choice? I have a chihuahua with a bad vet reputation, but Dr. Nealon worked with us to get some anxiety meds going before the visit to make sure everyone would be comfortable. Rico made it through his first full exam in several years! My other dog had a foot injury that I noticed on a Monday morning, and they were there within 3 hours to treat him. Thanks to Dr. Ford he is on the road to recovery. When my aging cat had to be put down, SXSV were there with the care and compassion I needed. Dr. Eick and staff have created an awesome community. This was my first experience with a mobile veterinarian. I was initially nervous because my dog is a large breed and hasn't always been social. But the staff was fantastic with communication via email and text...it put me at ease, which in turn kept my dog at ease. Dr. Nealon and her two assistants were amazing! But for the time being, I'm out $534 and was never even called back with results of the one test they ran. Went to another vet today for adequate care. 10/10 do NOT RECOMMEND if you have a sick or injured pet. You'll be sent to an ER vet regardless. But bed side manor was ridiculously annoying. Rude. And just all around blatantly obvious the doc had zero desire to help me out. New to the Houston area and drove 3 hours back home today to see our real doctor. After a big argument to have them park in my wide driveway with no problems, instead of in front of house in the middle of a school zone which would have stressed out my dogs with hundreds of people and cars at exactly 3:00 because they came early, that was not the time we agreed on. I asked that both dogs get wormed, vaccination on one and rabies on both. Because they will not give you a receipt at that time, I had no way to know that neither dog got wormed until I looked at the emailed receipt later that evening. So they basically ask for the credit card and don't even show you in writing what you're being charged for. I called the next day and got no answer on what happened, no offer to return and do the worming. Nobody ever called me back after I left this info with whoever answered the phone. They texted a couple of days later and I replied that neither got wormed...no response. I also didn't like that they didn't want me in the van to see what they were doing with My dogs. If I had been allowed inside I could have reminded them about worming. read more

I'm constantly raving about SXSV to every pet owner I know, so I figured it's about time I do the same in a review! First off: there is no going back to regular veterinary care once you've experienced the convenience of a mobile vet. They have extended hours, always seem to be able to fit me in when I need it, drop off medications when I need refills, are able to communicate quickly via text messages and email, and - most importantly - it eliminates the stress of going to a vet's office. My dogs are happier to be seen in their own home, I appreciate not having to deal with unpredictable situations with other people's pets, and it saves me lots of time. Plus since I have three friendly but overly enthusiastic dogs ranging from 55-75 lbs, managing more than one for a trip to a vet's office is a physical challenge that I am happy to avoid. Next up: gosh, they're nice. And I mean, aren't most people who work with pets for a living? But the people at SXSV are still over-the-top awesome. Plus it's important to me that my vets and vet techs treat my obnoxious furballs with affection and humor, and these folks deliver on that part too. They all love what they do, and it shows. "Ok," you ask... "so that's great and all, but how much do they cost?" I wondered too, before switching. I was worried it would be an expensive luxury to have all of this awesomeness come to my house, but decided that the positives outweighed any additional cost. EXCEPT THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL COST. What?! Yeah, it's crazy, I know. There are probably cheaper vets out there, but I am definitely saving money over what I was spending before, and I'm so much happier with everything about their service than I was with my former vets. The other thing I was worried about was the extent of the care they could offer, because Q.) How much equipment and medicine can you really fit in that van? A.) Lots. In the many visits I've had, there was nothing they couldn't do on the spot. And if I were to need, say, an x-ray for one of my dogs, they do have a partner office to help with that. SXSV has all the bases covered... just give them a call, pour yourself a nice cup of coffee (or glass of wine), and relax in your own living room while they knock whatever veterinary care needs your pets can throw at them out of the park. read more

I told them I would be free at 2pm and, lo and behold, they arrived precisely at 2pm in front of my apartment complex. Kona received all the necessary treatments right out of my front door, while I received a proper puppy education. I absolutely love Dr. Nealon and the South by south Vets team! Bobby is always super helpful and remembers my pups names when we chat! We called SXSVETS when we needed someone to come to us to help with our moody Samantha. They were great and super understanding. I never felt embarrassed that my dog gets super nervous around the vet. (Which has not always been the case.) I can also say that Dr. Nealon is always trying to find the least upsetting way to work with my dogs. She doesn't just drug them up at the drop of a hat like many vets I've been to before. We've successfully gotten through procedures without sedation with my other dog (Rottweiler) Maddie. Dr. Nealon also regularly texts and checks in with me on how the dogs are doing after procedures. Even when another surgery center has to do the procedure! I really recommend SXSVets for anyone and everyone! They are a mobile vet, so they've got to deal with traffic all over the Houston area. We just adopted a rescue Pug, Butters, last weekend and just a few days later he suddenly had awful breathing. I hadn't had a chance to establish a relationship with a local Vet yet, and it was 7pm. I then realized I had bookmarked this Vet due to their awesome Yelp reviews several weeks ago when I was going through the adoption paperwork process...so I gave them a call! Bobby was super helpful over the phone and told me the Vet could come to our home by 8:30pm. Dr. Eick and her assistant were friendly and gentle, spent extra time with Butters to make sure he didn't accidentally aspirate anything, and gave him some meds for an upper respiratory infection. Their mobile van is completely ROCKIN' with everything needed in there, exam table and all! A couple of days later, Mr. Butters was feeling like a new man and is currently snoozing in comfort. Bobby gave me a follow-up call the next day to see how he was doing. These guys care. Highly recommended! read more

LOVE Rollin' Vets. They are mobile (their vet van comes to us!) which means zero stress for my dog and myself, as well as being a major time-saver. Our labradoodle does not like a vet's office but will happily join Rollin' Vets on the van, as they are gentle and really good with him. And they always give us a next-day call to see how he's doing. Their level of responsiveness and concern is impressive. They are not the cheapest option in town but they are definitely fairly priced for the ease/care/superior vet service they offer (incl. emergency advice). We've had great experiences across the vet team - with a special shout-out for Dr. Katie Eick and Dr. Kerry Nealon - from puppy stage (they even walked our backyard to make sure we didn't have any poisonous plants that a puppy might enjoy chewing!) to our now teenager dog; including some interesting stomach issues & an allergy they've helped us figure out. While 2020 shutdowns were an issue for many vet offices, we did not miss a single vet visit due to Rollin' Vets being mobile, and I continue to recommend them to friends and neighbors! read more

We recently adopted a rescue dog. He's only been with us a short time and absolutely crumples if he thinks he has to get back in the car. We needed to establish his heartworm preventative, etc. I emailed South by South Vets on a Sunday, thinking I'd hear from them on Monday. Bobby called me back on that Sunday and worked around my difficult schedule. His first impression was so personable and friendly, I knew we were in for a positive experience. He called to confirm the appointment, and ended up working us in at a time that was even better for us. Dr. Nealon and her assistant braved terrible weather to make sure we were seen as soon as possible. They were wonderful with our rescue. He loved them right away. They helped me with a whole list of questions. My very skeptical husband was even very impressed. Finally, they followed up the next day to be sure all went well and see if we had any other questions or concerns. I had one come up later, sent them an email and got a very fast response. We are absolutely thrilled to have found such excellent, compassionate care and I've never had a vet follow up the next day after a routine exam. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Since my first review, we have continued to use South by South Vets for our other dog as well. They always return my calls quickly, they are on time, I never feel rushed and they continue to follow up after their visits, which still impresses the heck out of me. I never write reviews but I just want to say I highly recommend rollin vets. I was sure that my cat was dying or close to death. He wasn't eating. He constantly needs to go to his regular vet for an enema because he has chronic constipation and his regular vet would always sedate him for this despite his significant heart murmur (which they never told me about). On Halloween I had to take my cat to the emergency vet because he was acting lethargic. That's where they did all the tests to find he has a possible heart condition (could be in heart failure) and should have never been sedated. Once I took him home he was fine for a few days and then stopped eating. I was sure this was the end for him. I called the rollin vets because I didn't want to stress my cat out by taking him to the vet again. They came and administered some shots to increased his appetite and gave me a medicine that I can put on his ear every few days to get him to start eating again. It worked!! He's now back to his normal self and gaining his weight back. The rollin vets also sent an internal medicine specialist to my house to take an ultrasound of my cats heart. Turns out the heart condition was benign. I still need to check his heart again in another year, but this was great news. They also recommended I switch to this different cat food and now my cat takes big poops! So no more constipation, and he's eating again! I am so happy with rollin vets. I prefer them over my regular vet now read more

What a compassionate ending to a horrible night. My neighbor's cat was passing away on a Sunday night, and we were having trouble finding a vet who would make a house call. South by South Vet came to my neighbor's home and I got to witness a really beautiful goodbye to a cat that was having mild seizures as she was dying. Dr. Katie Eich was AMAZING! Such a lovely calming influence on what was a scary and sad night. Once she entered the room, the whole vibe changed. She was professional, but exceedingly human. My sobbing neighbor got calmer, and Dr. Eich walked her through each step verbally, and at each moment was asking my neighbor if she was ready for the next step. All five of us each waked slowly through a lovey goodbye. She had the medicine the cat needed, and emotional medicine the rest of us needed. After the cat slipped away, she let my friend have a last goodbye. And she took the body away for cremation. Totally amazing. read more
