After seeing many negative reviews on here I was extremely hesitant to go, however I can happily say that I had nothing but a positive experience! I had Sandy as a hair dresser and she was absolutely wonderful. Extremely friendly and great to talk to. I was unsure of exactly what to do to my hair and she had awesome ideas for me. I used the groupon for the balayage, cut, and blow dry and it was an awesome deal! I had no issues using it like some others had stated. I did not feel like the groupon affected the service I was given at all. I was extremely happy with the service I was given and love the job Sandy did! I'd highly recommend her and will definitely be back! For the shop itself, it was extremely clean and stylish. All stylists were friendly and in great moods. The shampoo lady was great and made the process even better (like a head massage). Everyone who came in and out throughout the time I was there seemed very happy. I bought a groupon for partial highlights, cut and blow out. The stylist doing my hair was over 20 minutes late and showed up with not even an "I'm sorry." I should have left then, but went against my better judgement and stayed. I asked for very natural highlights, just in my roots, to just recreate what was already done. I explained how I needed it done not too heavily so that it would growth out in a way where I didn't have an obvious root line. Well, that's exactly what I got. She said she would "feather" the highlight by my root, but that just turned out to mean that the obvious root lines are crooked. The top of my hair looks awful. UPDATE: The owner, Cheryl, fixed my hair and was very adamant about making sure I was happy. She did a color melt on my roots that completely fixed the stark lines that were there before. Come on in if you want a bad uneven haircut with even worse service. I found this place because a friend of mine had gotten me a Groupon. I called and told them I had a Groupon and made the appointment. When I got there my troubles began. First, they told me that they meant to call to re-schedule my appointment. Am I supposed to be psychic and realize telepathically that they wanted to re-schedule? I waited over 20 minutes for my appointment. When I got there they complained that I had long thick hair (hence the reason for the haircut!). Then the owner cut my hair and made me stand for the entire haircut! What?! I was okay with that because she had failed to clean the dirty stained white chair that was filled with hair from her previous client. Then she gave me uneven layers even though I told her no layers! She did not want to blow-dry my hair because she said my hair was too thick and it would take her time and effort to do so. Finally when I went to check-out she said that she does not accept Groupons. I told her that when I made an appointment I explained that I had a Groupon. She said that she is losing money by accepting Groupons and that she meant to take it down (like she meant to call to change my appointment). She did not want to honor her own Groupon for her own store. The owner was extremely rude and unprofessional! Overall horrible experience and I will never go back! BEWARE! read more

I first visited GlamBeautybarnny back in the beginning of November 2016 it was my first visit and I had booked my appointment with the salon owner Cheryl. The first appointment went well until the it was time to pay the bill, which originally was purchased through Groupon, I was told it could not be used due to the work I needed and my bill was a few dollars short of $400. The second visit in December did not go well. She had done a touch up and then proceeded to have another employee do highlights at the crown of my hair, which were not done correctly and broke off pieces at the crown of my hair. Once again I was quoted $120 and when I went to pay the price was double. I was told to return for a touch up right before New Years and again I was quoted $120 and I would be there an hour and half. Well that didn't turn out correctly. She used bleach in my hair, my hair began to change to orange and she kept putting product after product. The whole underneath of my hair was broken off and my hair was completely discolored and half of my hair broken off. I walked in with better hair then when I left. I have broken pieces all over my hair with photos to prove the before and after. I contacted the owner she wanted me to come in to try to fix it, I no longer felt comfortable and did not want to lose the hair I had left. I asked the owner for a refund she wanted to me to sign a release, relieving her of any responsibilities. Not happening. Not only did she ruin my hair but she also was very unprofessional and I had to pay for her ruining my hair. The owner stated that her salon is a fun place to be, I'm not looking for fun I'm looking for high end quality work. She not only did this to me, she did the same to a friend I referred to her. My friend has a bob and wound up paying $300 because the owner kept putting product in her hair. First she price gouges which is an unethical way to conduct business, I don't think she used the products she claims to use because I have never had this problem with my hair ever. She tried to state that I was harassing her and she outright lied about the circumstances. She has been in business for two years as a salon owner. Her lack of professionalism and tact are extremely obvious. Since I never signed the release I was never refunded my money or tried to rectify the situation. I am now seeking legal counsel for personal injury due to my hair continuing to break off and the scabbing caused from all the products she used in my hair. I do not recommend this salon to anyone and mostly due to the owner and her amateur work and attitude. Be wary I'm sure many of these reviews are not legitimate. Be wise. 2/10/17 This is now over one month and a half and my hair is still breaking. This is a disgrace and I am reporting them. read more

Not only did she suggest some great ideas like adding a few layers for the front of my face and layers throughout, enough to give my hair movement and body but she was super friendly. Last weekend I hired a make up artist from Glam beauty bar to come to my home to do the make up for myself and my daughter for an important family event we had that morning. I confirmed with the make up artist that she would be at my house at 7:30 am and she's be bringing a second person so that my daughter and I would get our make up done at the same time to save time since we had to leave by 8:45 am. When by 7:50 am she still had not arrived, I called her cell. She said she was pulled over by the police on her way to the house and said she'd be there in 5 minutes. Several calls later (I called her, she didn't call to update me on where she was or when she would arrive), she finally arrived 45 minutes late, no 2nd make up artist was with her and then did a rush job and both myself and my daughter. I texted the manager of Glam Beauty Bar, Cheryl, that morning to let her know what was happening and asked her to contact me. I never received a response. I also called Glam Beauty Bar on Monday and left a voicemail for Cheryl to discuss what happened and received no response. Not only did I not get the service I was promised (1 make up artists vs 2; a rush job, etc.) but Cheryl never returned my text or voicemail (left on the stores voicemail) to discuss the matter. The staff and management at Glam Beauty Bar are unreliable and unprofessional. I caution anyone against using them since they almost ruined a very important day for my daughter and myself. read more

Highly disappointed with this salon. I was given a 9am appointment, Their website clearly states they open at 10am so I was confused and arrived around 9:20am. Instead of trying to accommodate me as a new customer I was sent away by whoever the manager is & a stylist named Lori. It was a clear miscommunication but I drove 25 mins to get there and they didn't even try to squeeze me in. "Every minute counts" she said. I started coming to this salon about two years ago because I followed my stylist from her previous salon. 5 stars for my hair stylist! 1 star for management. The owner is very unprofessional and lacks the people skills to run a business. She is clearly NOT a people's person. I have been coming to this salon for almost 2 years now and they have so much potential to be one of the top salons in Larchmont, if not Westchester. It is very sleek and modern inside, they have a couple of really great girls working there, use good products, and they keep the place clean, but that's where it ends. On more occasions than I would like to admit, I've seen the owner (I will not name her but she is referenced in many of these Yelp reviews) belittle her employees, as well as customers, either directly or indirectly. She is very rude and curt, makes faces behind people's back, sends her employees to do her dirty work or pick up her slack, and I've seen her hide in the back room for unusually long periods of time while her customers wait around. I've seen her drag her employees into the back room to gossip. I've witnessed her talk bad about her customers after they've left, and I've seen her go from 0-100 for the silliest reasons. She even, on one occasion got mad at a friend I brought in, who spilled her drink, which was clearly an accident, and which we quickly cleaned up all by ourselves and apologized profusely, all while she huffed and puffed and stormed into the back room to "calm down" I suppose. I am a small business owner myself and I can not even imagine treating my employees and customers the way she has. She lacks efficient communication skills, common courtesy, the maturity level, and even the patience, to run a business. I've been coming here for almost 2 years now, have brought friends in, have told people who ask me where I get my color done about this salon, and have spent thousands of dollars at minimum at this salon, and the owner still refuses to greet me, thank me, and acknowledge me. She just does not have it in her to treat the people who keep her in business with respect and dignity. I've even witnessed her tell paying customers that were justifiably upset about something that she "doesn't need their business anyway " and that she can do "just fine without them". It's funny, for a very long time I thought she was just an employee, and was shocked when I found out that she actually is the owner! If it wasn't for my stylist (who I would follow anywhere) I would have stopped going there ages ago. It's such a shame because it really can be a nice little salon. I like that they're open late on some days and that they do makeup there as well. Prices are fairly reasonable- pretty standard Westchester prices. Just ignore management and you should make it out just fine if you go here, but please, proceed with caution. read more

I called, asked for an appt everything was good until I said, "i have a groupon." the lady then said 'Oh we are not taking groupon customers because it's a holiday weekend." Since when is 12/30 a Holiday? And, i was treated fine until said, I have a groupon. She was NOT a nice person and basically hung up on me when I said I would see what I can do with an appt. When I called, I told them how tight my schedule was with the wedding I was going to. But still I sat, as they did hair and gossiped about people who had just left. Finally my turn. Got the blow out I asked for. She then asked if she could just use the iron to give it a little flair -- "it'll be so fun!" I said sure, if it wasn't going to take too long. Then I went to pay. It was WAY more than they quoted me on the phone. I asked why. She said "oh, because I used the curling iron!" I was stunned. I asked what that added. She said twenty bucks -- "for artistry." I was truly mesmerized by the salon. It's very well decorated with natural sky light coming in. The lady who washed my hair and dried it was so friendly. The reason why I give it 3 stars is because the lady who cut my hair seemed like she was doing it in a rush and she wasn't communicating with me properly. Like asking me if I liked it, or if i wanted it shorter or more layers. I understand it's a groupon and you don't pay the whole value of the service but it's on groupon for a reason. Went to Glam yesterday in preparation for a wedding. Donna did an amazing job with my hair and it stayed all day and I received many compliments. Denise did mt daughter's hair and my she was the only bridesmaid not getting her hair done with the rest of the bridal party and Denise looked at my photos of the hairstyle and matched it perfectly and my daughter's hair stayed the best of all of them- through photos, wind and lots of dancing! Worst experience - unsanitary salon with a nasty owner, they completely bleached my hair, the owner has worst of attitude, called me crazy when I said that I have never seen my hair this white as they literally bleached already blond hair... Marked my voucher as used without my authorization or doing any work besides bleaching my hair, and I purchased it for balayage, cut and blow out. Came here to get a updo for my wedding party. I made an appointment but for some lack of attention from my side I thought I made the appointment at Glam Bar in Yonkers where my sister-in-law always goes, and at the day of my appointment we ended up going to the place in Yonkers instead of here. I called them and asked if they could still do my service on that day and if so I would be there in 30 minutes, the girl on the phone asked someone and then told me YES, they could! I got there 30/35 minutes later like I had told them which was 30 minutes after my initial appointment was scheduled. I unfortunately do not remember the name of my hair/make up stylist and her makeup helper. They did an awesome job anyway, if it was only for them I would give this place 5 stars. The problem was the RUDE OWNER who came up to the stylist when she was half way through getting my hair done, telling her that the client for her next appointment was already there and she wasn't gonna do my makeup anymore because I screwed up going to the wrong place. And told her to rush what she was doing on my hair. She didn't even try to keep her voice down, she said it to my face. My hair stylist tried to calm me down and said she was gonna make it work. What a sweetheart, she was incredible. She finished curling my hair, the other girl started my makeup and then after my hair stylist was done with her client she came and finished my makeup. She then proceeded to finish my updo and the OWNER kept asking her when she was going to be done with my hair because she wanted her help with a blowout. There were no more clients there and she was trying to rush the stylist for no reason. She was rude, unprofessional and had no care for me as a client. I went to this hair salon for highlights and a haircut. The same hairdresser did both. The highlights came out amazing but took forever. When getting highlights the owner of the company kept dipping her brush and into the my stylists bowl of bleach and using it on another customer. I found this to be highly unsanitary and disruptive. While we are on the subject of disruptive, the owner herself was speaking loudly making snarky rude remarks and badmouthing someone else's highlights that she had gotten in a different salon. All in all my highlights came out great event thought they took close to 6 hours. The girl who did my highlights was sweet and very patient, however my haircut which took 1 hour came out uneven despite the fact that multiple pictures and instructions were provided. I spent a full non-relaxing Saturday only to go home with a headache. I had to wait till Tuesday for another hair salon to fix my hair and have to pay for a hair cut a second time because there was NO way I was going back even if it was free! read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! I'm getting married in May & was looking for on-site services for hair/ makeup. We aren't having a large bridal party - just myself & 4 other people including just my MOH, my mother, my fiance's mother & my flower girl. I originally called Glam on March 17th and never rec'd a followup. Flash forward two weeks later & I still had not heard back so unfortunately, I circled around & requested information again. I rec'd an email from Cheryl, the owner, from her personal email address apologizing for no one getting back to me, etc. We discussed setting up a trial & I told her all of my needs - has to be on site at the hotel & how many people were in my party. I went in for my wedding trial today with my mother & felt uncomfortable right from the start. The salon was empty for a Saturday while I noticed the other salons on the street were filled up & lively - Red Flag #1. I sat down in the salon chair & Cheryl comes out of a backroom & starts to curl my hair without wanting to see any photos I had with me & said she saw the one I emailed her. I didn't exactly know what to expect for the trial so I didn't make a fuss but it was surprising since I even receive a small consultation when I get simple blowouts much less a WEDDING TRIAL. Nevertheless, I kept my mouth shut & let Cheryl continue to start curling my hair. Since I am not blind & there are mirrors everywhere, I watched Cheryl make faces & glances towards another woman at the front desk. A few minutes later, Cheryl brings over this woman, the other OWNER, & they proceed to ask me how many people are in my bridal party, where we will be getting ready, etc. These details were all previously discussed before we scheduled this trial but for the sake of conversation & to fill her business partner in I answered each question with the same information Cheryl has previously rec'd. At one point, Cheryl puts down the curling iron & says they need to discuss being able to fit me in the other room & proceed to go to a back room & SHUT THE DOOR while I'm sitting there. For heaven's sake, I made the appointment based on what I needed & now after I've took time out of my Saturday you are going to decide if that works for you? From the lack of respect & professionalism, I just about walked out right there but I'm glad I didn't because it only got more ridiculous as this scenario went on. The two women came out & told me they think it would be better if I came in to the salon to get my hair done (anyone recalling that this was one of my absolutes from earlier?) because they're "super busy" & it wouldn't be worth it to leave for them. Side note - I completely understand if I went in to this appointment with false pretenses about how large my bridal party was but I was completely honest. Also, as I'm in Sales, I understand having a daily quota or target & would have not batted an eye had they explained that to do an off-site location a certain dollar amount must be spent & would've happily accepted a premium. Instead, the two childish women, kept running to the backroom to discuss me as I sat in their salon with a few curls on one side of my head. Cheryl tells me she feels really strange but it's out of her control. How pathetic it is to be the owner & actually try to spew something about not having control. Let's talk about a complete lack of ownership! My favorite part of the experience is when she sent her manager over who tells us it is her first day but she was hoping to make something work for us. At this point, I already decided I would NEVER want this establishment to be a part of any of my days much less my Wedding Day but I humored this poor manager who was sent over to show me a price list of the prices I had already seen. (Honestly, the prices were quite reasonable which was a perk when initially making the appointment.) I proceed to tell her that it was not going to work & I wanted all of the clips removed out of my hair so I could leave. Cheryl, who pathetically hid by the front desk & made no actions, then came over & tells me we should continue so it doesn't ruin the trial. WHY ON EARTH would I want to pay for a trial from these people who have completely disregarded & disrespected me the entire 20 minutes I've been in their salon? Sadly, I think the worst part is they were so oblivious to their lack of customer service & asked if the prices seemed too high & if that is why I wasn't interested. Before I left, I looked at Cheryl & asked her why everything was different when we communicated via email. Being the coward she so clearly had proven herself to be during my appointment, proceeded to tell me she doesn't answer her own emails (from her own personal email!) & that it was her business partner so she wasn't sure what I was referencing. GIVE ME A BREAK! What a poorly, poorly managed salon. Do yourself a favor & go to ANY, ANY, ANY other salon in Westchester or on this very street who will appreciate you as a customer. read more

Worst customer service. I called to book an appointment for a Groupon I purchased. They were booked for weeks and they offered me an appointment on a Saturday. I booked the appointment and told them I was concerned because it was after the Groupon had expired. They told me not to worry and that they would still accept the Groupon. I offered to give them the Groupon number over the phone and they said I could just redeem it when I came in for the appointment. They called to confirm two days before the appointment and again the day before. When they asked how I heard about them I told them just through the Groupon I purchased. They then told me I could not use the Groupon on the Saturday (this is less than 24hours before the appointment) even though I had booked an appointment telling them I was using a specific Groupon. I told them I rearranged my schedule for this appointment and that I specifically mentioned numerous times I was using a Groupon when I booked it. They told me they will not honor it on a Saturday with no exceptions. There is also no mention on the Groupon that they don't accept Groupon on Saturday's. I was extremely understanding and tried to book another time and when I could not do the two times they offered me in the middle of the work day they put the manager on who acted extremely frustrated that I could not make it those times. I have never been treated so rudely and would have thought that after Inconveniencing me by canceling the Saturday appointment because of their error that they would have been more accommodating to book me another time.
