Went to a class in June felt like I was being judged for who I was . Mind you the class had about 7 African american students and one Latino student but the atmosphere was not welcoming at all. We took pics at the end of class and I have not even seen those pictures uploaded anywhere. They informed us we will he getting certificates but here is it 3 months later and still no certificate. I have emailed and called and no response. Even called Glo and nothing. If I would have known that I would have been lied to or treated this way I could have kept my money and went elsewhere. Spent 100 on the class and then over 200 on the extras. The makeup doesn't even cater to all skin tones and I broke out because of the makeup. Will never recommend to anyone. Spent money thinking I'm going to up my portfolio to have nothing to show for it. read more

I'm not sure where to start. First thing I will say is that the instructors are great and friendly. But the entire program offering is janky at best. The Instagram page portrays something totally different. They have you sitting on hard I mean hard 1993 metal folding chairs you have to sit and listen to the instructor for the first half which is like 3 hours for her to do one face. You don't learn much because it's just like watching a live YouTube video. I could have watched this in my bed was all I keep thinking. They need to give you at least a paper face to try follow along with the instructor. You can get what they teach on you tube honestly. Second half you are paired with someone from the class and you do each other's makeup. NONE of that make is melanin friendly. They had us looking jacked up. The second half should be used to show techniques and they should give you a basic look to do and then grade you without that you can learn everything they have to say on YouTube. I took a class a year ago, the instructors were nice and the enviroment was fun but it did lack more professionalism...the instructors were on the phone, chatting and laughing amongst themselves and not paying too much attention to us students who were looking for critics and advice... The kit was really good though, I still use on my pro kit. one thing that made me really disappointed is that they NEVER sent me the certificate.....and I asked them many times...how cool is that??? The course itself was fun and interesting (useful tips, nice and relaxed atmosphere, helpful instructors) however I emailed them few times since then and have never received my certificate (every time they assured me they will send it asap). I took the course today, the class itself was okay. At one point they had gave us the option to bring our own brushes or buy the brushes there for 39 dollars. I have been a makeup artist for about 5 years so I know enough to tell the difference between good and bad quality. I needed new brushes so I figured I would buy some there, I expected good quality brushes for that price and because they are a company. I was very disappointed when I bought the brushes because they where the same brushes that you could buy for 5 dollars or less at Alliexpress. I am sure they are the exact same because I have bought one time. I'm writing this review because I wish I would have known this before I took the class, so now I want inform anyone thinking about buying stuff there. They are not good quality. read more

So it's coming up on almost a month since I took this class back in September. The class was good, I really enjoyed it but the issue that I do have is with the communication with Glam Lab. I didn't receive my certificate in the class itself but I was told it would be mailed to me. I have sent emails and to this day haven't heard anything back. I am greatly dissatisfied and disappoint with the communication on their part. I understand that they might be busy at times but any reply is better than non at all. read more

This was my first makeup class! It was a wonderful class. Starting with a demo that was quickly paced, but very informative! We then went right onto creating the looks ourselves on our partners with the instructors always nearby to give informative and helpful directions. The last chunk of class was incredibly helpful! As a new makeup artist I had no real clue of the business side of the industry and hearing about how to break in was great. Throughout the registration process, there were a few details absent - e.g. how & when the $199 would be fulfilled, parking info for MUA's travelling from out of town, (most significant for me) bringing with your own kit to class - the website specifies that this is optional. Also, the countless grammatical mistakes in both the website & emails sent by the Glam Lab team. These details were brought to Glam Lab's attention. The conversation that took place addressed all confusion and every question I had - THIS, I appreciated. The Glam Lab team have been in touch with me since the day of class. The purpose of frequent communication between us was to address the disastrous choreography and execution of their, typically successfully-run & highly rated, class. I can assure future students that the falling-out of our course was an isolated incident. I have brought forth to their attention many details needing to be improved upon - feedback that was greatly appreciated on their end. No need to dive into details, knowing your experience will be similar to reviewers below. Just keep in mind, constructive feedback is helpful when approached with the ***right attitude***. The class was OK. I felt that the make up kits that they sold were over priced for the quality of products that were provided. The make up brushes cracked within the second day using them for some odd reason. A few of the products in my kit seemed used. (My kit was put together while I was getting a Make-Up application) But they were "valued at over $100". The class was very informational although I can't say that I learned anything new. Communication with Glam Lab SUCKS. Its like before I attended and paid for the class communication was good. But after I attended and paid my money I could not get a response from anyone in regards to my questions and concerns. I attended the Makeup Pro 101 class this past Sunday and had an awesome experience! The class is jam-packed with info! Brittany was a great instructor..she did a demo and explained every step along the way. We were able to then recreate the look on a partner. This class was great for me as a beginner bc it gave me new tips and gave me a solid routine to follow for creating a natural face. It was super basic in that there was not a ton of makeup used and the glam looks that I love weren't really covered. But this is a 101 class and I believe they have an Expert Face class that might go into the heavier makeup more in depth. But if you are just starting out and need a base level to start with..this is your class. They also have a student store where you can buy everything they used at a major discount. The best part for me was all the business info given regarding getting yourself started, where to go from here etc. This class was my "step one" and it lit a fire under me that I didn't even know was there! I started a new IG and let everyone know I was certified and I've already had so many inquiries from family and friends. I am starting to build my kit and plan my trials and I really think this is the industry for me. So if you have a passion for makeup but no direction, start with Glam Lab..you won't be disappointed! read more

I took this class on February 5th. We had an extremely small class, only 3 people showed up, which I did not mind at all! Yes, I can agree with everyone that this is a "Basic" class but that's only because the makeup look we are trying to achieve is a "natural" look. Even though I knew everything they were teaching, they showed some tips and tricks that I did not know and just from those few little steps, its completely changed the way I do my makeup. The only thing I wish we were able to do after they demonstrated was actually apply lashes and fill in brows, as I have no experience prior to this class. Other than that, this class was very helpful and definitely worth going! I'm really looking forward to starting my career and hopefully will be taking more classes, or even working for glamlabs in the future! read more
