My experience from the beginning to end was excellent. Lisa went through every detail, what she was doing and why. I was sent home an after care package that covered FAQ'S, home care, cleanser, etc. Initially, I was nervous about the color because I have black hair and how was this going to match up with my skin tone without making me look crazy. Keeping this short and sweet (I think the photos speak for themselves), I am thrilled with my microblading experience at The Beauty Crew. Lisa was professional, warm, knowledgeable and skilled with that little scalpel. She chose the perfect color and shape for my new brows. Afters years of being embarrassed about my eyebrow colic, I had finally decided on microblading. While The Beauty Crew wasn't the cheapest option, the reviews and Lisa's professional education sold me! Who wants a bargain bin place working on their face? Yikes!! The cost includes a touch-up session and the whole process takes about three months to complete (about a month to fully heal between each session). A few quick tips I learned along the way: the color is way darker the first few days of healing (I felt like a muppet), so plan your social life ahead. The Beauty Crew started out in a smaller space on Irving Park Road about 5 years ago. Through reviews and hunch I decided to get my wedding day makeup done there. I have a maternity shoot right after the the booked service and the level of customer service for my experience deserves no stars. They sent me emails and text reminders only to show up and have no one at the location. They definitely need to do better with taking peoples time into consideration. I called, emailed and even went on the stylist Instagram page to find the number to contact her. The same page I went on to make the appointment with her. Very disappointed. I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessionalism of the Beauty Crew today. I was excited to have my hair and makeup done for family portraits and booked a 10am appointment with Mylene after seeing positive reviews online. I even reached out to confirm with her the Tuesday prior because I was uneasy that I had not received one, but she assured me we were all set. However, an hour and a half before the scheduled appointment time, she sent me a text cancelling due to illness. I understand things happen and yes, it is better to be safe than sorry, but there was no effort to make it right in any way. I asked her if she had a replacement or a recommendation for another hair and makeup artist, and she couldn't even be bothered to respond! With it being a Saturday and on such short notice, it was extremely hard to find an appointment elsewhere, resulting in a lot of scrambling around and added stress. Not what you want on picture day. Went here for my prom makeup in May 2019 and was SOO happy with the results. I arrived in the cute studio and my artist (Alexis) was waiting for me. They had a ton of products and were able to execute the exact look I had in mind. Also, I was nervous about looking ashy because I have a deeper skin tone and about the makeup flaking because I have really dry skin, but neither occurred.
