I had a very delightful experience with a friend. We walked in at 10 am to see if they were available for two gel manicures. The woman said she could do two in the afternoon we scheduled for 1 pm. When we came back the ladies were ready. They paid special attention to our cuticles. I have before and after pics. Before pics were taken April 5 - after manicure, and after a week later April 13 - 3 chips on nails. About $35 for gel manicure I didn't think price was bad. read more

I went here on impulse before a job interview to get a basic gel manicure with a neutral polish. I'd never had a manicure before, so I didn't know what to expect. I didn't expect to have my cuticles ground down with something that looked like a dremel. She gouged my nails so badly that a few weeks later when my nails grew out, they were splitting, cracking and breaking so badly I had to cut them all off down to the quick. The polish also was bad. Only about 85% of my nail was covered, and was gloppy and uneven. I also did not get the advertised 10% discount on walk-in manicures. Kim, the manager, told me that gel manicures didn't qualify. Dubious at best. When I tried to leave a cash tip, she said I had to put it on my card so she could count it. At that point, I flat out refused, gave my manicurist $5 and walked out. The lady that did my nails was so nice, I loved her hospitality. But when it came down to doing my nails was bad. I paid $37 (which is overpriced in my opinion) for a gel manicure that only lasted a week. The edges of the nail polish were also on my skin, so every day or every other day my nails would peel on the sides (since again the nail polish was past where my actual nails were). I was really disappointed when day 7 came along, I only had one nail left that was painted because everything else peeled off. Overall the only reason I even gave a star, it because I was given good hospitality despite the bad paint job. read more

I give the salon a 4/5 stars! I took my best friend here to get a little pampering done for her birthday and man am I glad we stumbled upon this place! We walked in without an appointment expecting to have a wait, not the case (despite being fairly busy)! They took us in right away and had us pick out our gel nail color. The owner of the salon was working on my friend's nails and I had a guy clean up my nails and remove old polish and another lady finished them up adding the gel manicure. They took us in, kept great conversation, and were hilarious. We left the salon raving about how we are gonna go back. They made her birthday experience fantastic and I am so thankful that we chose the salon! The first time I went to this location I had wonderful experience the first time. The second time I had the same nail tech and she completely disregarded what I wanted; I showed her the photo twice nevertheless, she seemed to not pay attention to the picture or my verbal concerns. during this appointment, I was rarely acknowledged; I felt rushed, disregarded, and that my time or wishes were not valuable or cared for. This experience was completely different than my first experience which was great: they were nice and I got exactly what I wanted. However, this experience was horrible to say the least. Not only did I not get what I wanted, I felt horrible because of their complete disregard and rudeness toward me. And i was up charged for fill:/ I will not be going back. I couldn't rate this place because their website on yelp says no appointment necessary but I found out that is not true. I had been at a friends helping them out all day and about to make dinner. My only plan today for myself was to get pampered and have my nails filled and a pedicure. This place was extremely close and had Groupon specials and boost about a20% discount on one of their pedicures. Perfect!! Do I thought I call the business a guy answers sounds like I woke him up! Mind you I am directly across the street from this place and can clearly see it Jason cars parked out front. I ask if I can come in and he said better you come tomorrow. I will never go to this salon again, mainly because of how the owner, Kim, conducts business, but also because my manicure was horrible. I went in for a gel manicure, and it was going fine, but the machine that was used to cure the gel polish wasn't working, so it didn't set and 6 nails smeared off when she wiped them with the alcohol swab. When the first nail smeared I was blamed for not holding my hand correctly in the machine, and then I think she realized it was the machine when my whole other hand came out wrong. She redid the nails, but did them quickly, so I had polish on my cuticles, none of the tips of my nails were covered with polish (creating a little white line), and within a couple hours the nails that weren't redone started to chip off. I called to ask that the manicure be redone, and they were open to that. I went in and it was going fine, until the employee started asking if I wanted a design. I didn't want a design, and said no thanks a couple times, but she kept pushing it. I thought the offer was a gesture of apology because this was in essence the third time I was getting this manicure done, and because she would not drop it. So I finally just said sure, a design on two nails would be fine, my own mistake I know, but she seriously was not dropping it. Well that was a mistake, the designs were not free, they were $7.50 each! For mediocre daisies, nothing fancy at all, and not at all like the picture she showed me. She never mentioned a price and there was no signage listing the price anywhere that I saw. When I spoke to the owner about this and the general dissatisfaction I had with the whole thing (my redo manicure was not good, there were globs of polish at the end of every one of my nails) she would have nothing to do with it and was beyond rude. Also bring cash only, because even though you're spending $35 on a manicure, they'll charge you a $2+ fee to swipe your card. read more

Glam Nails recently opened in a small mall located below The Lodge apartment complex in Little Canada. However, Glam Nails isn't your typical "strip mall" nail salon, it is has far more of a spa-like atmosphere. Yet their prices are comparable to other nearby nail salons. I get manicures or pedicures on a montly basis, and I have tried many salons in the area, so far they are my favorite. The front desk is a large welcoming area, and it has several manicure and pedicure stations. The décor is neutral with coordinating accents, including a beautiful seating area. They must have had at least 100 brand new bottles of virtually every OPI color, arranged in rainbow order, along with the full range of gel & CND shellac options. I opted for a gel manicure, and the woman who did the service was very through, friendly, but also mindful of my time. At one point I had a little cough, and she requested a co-worked to get me a glass of water without me having to ask her, it is these touches that made it more luxurious. The salon is spacious too, you don't feel like you're crammed into a spot next to someone. They had gentle classical piano music playing, too. Glam Nails is a welcome addition to the Little Canada, Roseville, Vadnais Heights area, I'm really glad they are in my neighborhood! read more

I'm torn writing this because my pedicure was great -- my friend and I each got the deluxe pedi with the jelli bath add on. My nail tech was so nice and gentle. The reason for the review, the salon owner, Kim was very shady. Her website listed the "Daily Deal" as having 10% off all pedicures. When I checked out, she claimed it was only for walk-ins. My friend and I made an appointment so we didn't qualify. 1) How does that make any sense? 2) It doesn't say anywhere on her website or print out (which she covered with her keys while I was standing at the checkout counter! Again, shady!) Also, don't bother with the current CHECK IN deal because Kim also claims that deal is only offered on Sundays and Mondays. Does she know how check ins work? Bottom line, Kim isn't a fan of following through with discounts she offers. I'm not so much worried about the $10 I should have saved, it's more about the way she went about it! I'm incredibly hard on my nails. I'm lucky if a manicure lasts 2 days before chipping. My manicure that I got at Glam Nails lasted an entire week, completely unheard of for me! My manicurist was sweet and talkative and did a fantastic job. My pedicure is still going strong. Loved all of the polish options. If I lived closer, I'd go back all the time as prices seemed reasonable. read more

Visited Glam Nails for a pedicure on a recommendation - but will never go back! The appointment started off bad and never got any better! First the nail tech put my feet into freezing cold water, Brrr! She attempted to adjust the water temp but never let all the ice cold water out so it was tepid at best. There is no table or shelf to put down your personal items so I had to hold them the entire time. I requested the Margarita Pedi described on their website as: Margarita Pedicure $40.00 "Stick your toes in refreshing ocean like water as you treat your feet to a lime like water soaking topped with fresh lime scent, and a salt (or sugar!) scrub. Your feet and toes will feel rejuvenated and refreshed with massage oil and moisturizer. Feel your cares melt away as we finish off the pedicure with a hot stone massage" There was no lime scent, no salts, no anything added to the cold uncomfortable water soak as advertised. The massage was ok but the work on the nails: cleaning cuticles and trimming she did was minimal at best. A slight trim, brief cuticle once over and a quick bit of pumice was the complete extent of it. The applied polish didn't go all the way to the cuticle and the tech spent more time cleaning up the applied polish around the nail then she did trimming the cuticle! I asked for a design but the tech said she could only do flowers, so there seemed to be a lack of skill on her part. I asked how long she had been there and she said years?! Don't waste your time or money here - go else where!! read more

I asked for a fill and the guy behind the counter said the lady who does fills is off until tomorrow. I thought I heard wrong. I asked "You only have one person who does fills?" He said "Yes". He looked me up & down & said "We don't do acrylic. We only do dipping powder and the fill person is off until tomorrow." Definitely the best nail place in the immediate area. My more recent gel manicure lasted a full three weeks without any chipping and without even getting caught in my hair. I've had every employee there do my nails, and I'm always happy. They have a good color selection in gel and regular (and this new powder they have in that I haven't tried yet). I first tried Glam via a Groupon last year and I am so very glad that I did. The shop is clean, relaxing music playing in the background. I have had several different technicians at Glam and all are great but I am especially fond of Amy (also known as Vy on their website). I like that there is a wide range of services. I have terrible, soft nails and I am so happy that gel manicures last a full 2 weeks when I get them at Glam. That has never happened for me before. Pedicures can be express or extra deluxe depending on your needs. Love that I never feel like I am being rushed through to get to the next client. Very unhappy with my service today. Came in as a new client to the salon excited to get an express pedicure and gel manicure. The salon was very clean and spacious with alot of new polishes to choose from. However , my nail technician was very rude and unfriendly to me. She seemed bothered by having to be there working and I caught her rolling her eyes at me several times. My gel manicue turned out horrible. She rushed through it and the polish barely covers my whole nail. It was out on too thin so u can see through to my nail. When I asked her about it neither she or the manager seemed to care and told me the Polish must have "shrank" when it dried but didn't offer to fix it. I went in for a gel manicure. I told them 4 times that my nails are natural and have the gel on top. Upon sitting down the lady began treating my nails as if they were artificial. I corrected her and she began filing off the polish. She half-ass did 2 of my nails before admitting she didn't know what she was doing. They asked me to return tomorrow. The salon is very clean and my pedi was great, but the owner Kim is awful!!! I had my nails done for my wedding and they were uneven, one came off completely after 2 days and the rest had all started to lift because they weren't glued down all the way. For the amount of money I paid, I expected my nails to last at lest 2 weeks, not 2 days. When I called to get them redone, I found out that the owner Kim had done my nails. That was a huge red flag for me because you would think that the owner would do a better job and because when I checked out with her and left the tip, she very rudely pointed out that she deserved a bigger tip than her employee/co-worker who did my pedi. When I finally got a call back from Kim, she was even worse! She kept talking over me and telling me it was my fault. She finally said that she would only fix the one that came off and wouldn't do anything about the rest. At that point I was very upset and tired of being talked over and down to, so I told her that I wanted all of my nails redone or a refund and I questioned why everyone paid a different price, when they got the same thing done, we felt cheated by the weird up charges on everything! Everyone in my party was charged a different price. She told me that they don't do refunds then laughed and asked me how we were cheated when she gave us $5.00 off coupons to use the next time we come in!
