I was genuinely shocked to be charged the full $160 for a same-day cancellation due to being sick. I understand businesses have policies, but there was zero flexibility or compassion shown. Life happens--especially illness--and I reached out as soon as I could. For a service I didn't receive, this felt punitive and unfair. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values basic empathy. I will say, Moriah did great and I would go see her if I were you, just don't get sick! But long-term business loyalty? I will be going elsewhere because how do you build long-term loyalty without offering any ounce of grace? I also read a review from a customer 2 years ago that complained of Mackenzie being late to an appointment. Her response was "I have never been that behind for any client ever. I came back in to see Moriah for a lash lift and tint as well as a brow/lip wax and I had such a lovely experience. Moriah is so nice and really meticulous with her work. My eyelashes look fantastic as well as my brows. She was also super efficient and got all of the services I booked done in just over an hour - so great! If you value your time I do not recommend Glam Wax Boutique. I gave the owner, Mackenzie the benefit of the doubt when she showed up 30minutes late due to a childcare issue. I get it, I'm a mom myself. However, for each subsuquent appointment her tardiness was clearly her M.O. Not to mention the constant upsell of products, which I happily bought. I took Paige to see Charina at Glam by Charina which has taken over the Glam Wax boutique as of October 1st, 2020 and I could not be happier. This was the best experience of her life and as a mom I walked out of there in tears of happiness. Paige will be 4 this month and this was her very 1st haircut and the experience was more than I ever could have asked for. She went above and beyond to make sure that Paige was comfortable. She played Disney music in her room for her, made sure she included her in all the decisions, spoke directly to her not just to me, and made her feel special. The salon itself is gorgeous. When I say gorgeous I mean absolutely jaw-dropping gorgeous. It's what you would expect for downtown Issaquah. Glamorous is a good word for it so "Glam Boutique" is the perfect name for it. Paige sat in front of what felt like a 10 foot bedazzled mirror that was stunning. It looked like a salon that was hand picked off of a Pinterest board. The salon itself was clean, they had all the necessary PPE precautions, very aesthetically pleasing, quiet but ambient. Not overly product filled. Just gorgeous. Right when you walk in, the environment is SO good! It's inviting, smells amazing, looks super profesh! Oh, side note, parking was a breeze. There's a garage right underneath! Mackenzie is the best! I initially went in for a lash lift, but Makenzie thought a tint would be better since my lashes were already pretty lifted, it was just how blond they were that made it hard to see that. Wow wow wow! I got my eyelashes permed and tinted for my 30th birthday. Mackenzie was so professional but sweet and kind and welcoming. It felt like she understood exactly what I wanted and how I liked me eyelashes to look. When Mackenzie showed me the final product of the hour and a half of laying on the table with my eyes closed (nap time!) I started to cry because of how wonderful it looked. Can you say obsessed with this sweet girl. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mackenzie!!! I had been getting waxed by the same lady for a few years and a friend took me to her wax girl, Mackenzie. Immediately I noticed that Mackenzie didn't double dip her sticks. That was new to me and she was patient enough to explain why that was unsanitary and why I shouldn't get waxed by anyone that double dips. I was SOLD!! She is so friendly and makes you feel super comfy. She uses hard wax which is the best if you don't like pain. Her technique helps ease the pain and sometimes you don't feel anything at all. My wax lasts me 4-6 weeks. I was also looking into lash extensions and saw how expensive they were. I have pretty long healthy lashes so Mackenzie thought I should try her lash perm. I was going out of town for a birthday get together so I decided to try the lash perm and when I say NO LASH EXTENSIONS FOR ME!! I loved the lash perm. My eyes look so wide open and fancy. lol. It has been 3 wks and my lashes are still so curled. They look great without mascara. Mackenzie is super clean and her place smells amazing. (I always compliment her on the smell when I walk in). I've been going to Mackenzie for a while now... She is such a doll! My mother found her (via Yelp) and recommended that I see her when I was thinking about a Brazilian wax near the end of my pregnancy. Mackenzie did an amazing job! She also did my brows, and they looked great! She recommended that my mother get a brow tint, lash perm & lash tint done. My mom looked 10 years younger afterwards! I did a lash tint to test the waters, and I was thrilled with the results - I have light hair and the tint really makes my blue eyes pop. If you're looking for a good waxing spot - this is where you want to be! Mackenzie uses hard wax which is unusual but the ONLY way to go (in my opinion).
