I had meant to write this review after my first visit to Glamvie, I was that impressed. Since then I've had several more and tried other services so I'm doing it now. I called this salon in a panic for the first time on my birthday, looking to feel beautiful for a night out with the ladies. They fit me in no problem, introduced me to Rosemarie and even gave me a gift bag full of goodies! Recommended a new shampoo (which has been the best I've ever found for my hair type) and made me feel like a birthday girl. Fast forward to last week-- I used the services of Rosemarie again for a formal (read: bridesmaid in a wedding) up do and professional makeup with lashes for the first time ever. Talk about nervous on the latter! I met Stacey, the makeup artist. She really put me at ease, even with something like the lashes which I'd never used and I'm horrible with sitting still for eyeliner and mascara. She made it all effortless. I looked beautiful! Rosemarie, as she has done in the times I've seen her since the first time, gave me exactly the hairstyle I had pieced together from several pictures. I got compliments all night. I was recommended here about half a year ago to Sanela. I was in desperate need of someone who would fix my horrible brassy balayage and Sanela saved me. She is amazing! She knows exactly what I want and comes through every time. Her hands are gold and her personality, forget about it!!! She's amazing! So glad I found her. As for the salon, it's super clean, modern and they literally have anything you will ever need. Bond perfume, makeup, alllll the best hair products. Everyone who works here is very friendly and accommodating. They'll always offer you coffee, tea, mimosas and pastries. Customer service is on a hundo here. They don't cut children's hair. First I was told it's because they're not tall enough. Then I was told the stylists aren't comfortable cutting children's hair. Glamvie is a keeper! From the moment I walk through the door the entire staff is friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting . I typically use Rosa(color) and Freddy (cut).Both are extremely talented and true artists. I had a horrible experience with Elena M . She was in a rush and too busy talking to other customers Left me sitting under the dryer . She ruined my highlights and didn't care to fix it . When I told her I was disappointed she offered to trim my ends for free . I did call and complain to the owner Rosa , she told me she called me back and I never heard from her again . While I would not necessarily recommend Glamvie for makeup, Sanella is my go-to and amazing with hair and in terms of executing what you want/ making her own professional recommendations. I used her for color last July and about a year and a half later my color (belyage) honestly still looks great-- no yellowness at all! My experience with Glamvie; When i walked through the door the environment was great. Everyone was friendly and was trying to cater to what you need. Not one person had an attitude or was rude. Place is clean and must say nice to look at. Hair; I brought in a picture of the red that i have been dying for, for a long time. I made an appointment with Vlada and was very simple to make. I showed the picture and she said she can do it. Let me tell you she DID IT!!! The experience with Vlada was truly amazing, i dont have enough good things to say. Like everything in south Brooklyn- it's pretty but it's not worth it. I got a pedicure here today they only have "spa pedicures" there is nothing spa about it- no special creams or lotions no foot wrapping no Callus remover lotion. Just a basic, even below basic pedicure. The entire time the woman was doing my pedi she was looking in another direction and listening to the girl getting her mani done. As for the actual service: There was barely a foot massage. She can't put on polish They use cheap paper towels between your toes instead of the foam separators. They don't have foot dryers -so naturally the color smudged on the way out. Really not impressed- it's very clear that people come here because it "looks" fancy but the quality of service is poor. went to a consultation with Sanela C. who said partial highlights would be $160-$170, full highlights $220 Sanela C. asked me if i want single process, i said no. she also went to receptionist who confirmed that color and highlights for half of the head will be 170 then i went to receptionist myself and asked her to confirm. she confirmed 170 will be the total that I would pay. .... on the day of procedure Sanela C. asked me again if i want half head highlight and i said yes, then she asked if i want to color the hair i said yes if price will be 170 as agreed. she confirmed it will be 170. after few hours in a salon, work was completed. Sanela C. left and i went to receptionist who said my total is 256. I said but we have agreed on $170 total but she refused to honor the agreed upon amount. in a few days i went to speak to the manager Rosa V. who said she wasn't there and doesn't know why i was told 170 and refused to refund the difference. ... Had regular mani pedi at this salon. Totally overpriced for what you get. Manicure was ok. But pedicure was one of the worst I've had. Nail polish was applied very sloppy so I had to fix it when I got home. I don't mind paying for service if it's worth it. I've been coming to Glamvie for my nails and hair since they opened and have never had an issue. Yesterday, I went in to get my hair done and I asked for the same thing I always do - two-toned with a dark mahogony color against my natural hair (which is black). I had an appointment with Sanela at 1:45 PM. She's done my hair in the past, so I wasn't expecting the result I got. When she finished with my hair, I was horrified to see a bright fuschia pink color. I felt mortified as other customers came by to take a better look and felt like a complete laughing stock. I'm an older woman and to give me a bright color like this is NOT appropriate, especially since this was NOT what I asked for. Sanela did not apologize at all. Instead, she told me that she decided that she wanted to try something new since the color I usually get is not very visible. I never expressed that I had any issues with the color I normally get before. I enjoyed the color, which is why I always come back. For Sanela to make an executive decision to put a brighter color, without my consultation and permission, I am extremely insulted and devastated. Sanela toned my hair darker after I expressed how upset I was but it was not enough. When I was sitting to dry, the color was still fairly bright and I did not like my hair at all. Thankfully Lori, my nail esthetician, told her to darken it again and she toned it down once more. While my hair is much darker, it still gleams bright red in the sunlight and I know that a tone doesn't last very long. I'm appalled that I was treated this way after being such a loyal customer. Hair stylists should ALWAYS consult their customers on what they want to achieve. I would not have minded if Sanela provided the suggestion and showed me the color she had in mind and asked for my OK. But instead, she took it upon herself to make the decision and did NOT apologize at all. That is NOT okay. As a paying customer, I am very upset and this has not fully been rectified. read more

My mom and I came to Glamvie to try a new local place for a haircut. When I called to make an appointment, the staff was helpful, polite and accommodating. My haircut was done by Rosamaria and my mom's was done by Monique. When we arrived, the staff was friendly and prompt. You could tell instantly that there was a good vibe in the salon. Rosamaria practices the Deva curl cut and did an amazing job with my curls. For those of you with curly hair, book with her! She knows her stuff, and after talking to her for five minutes, I felt like I had known her for years. Monique was perfect for my mom's shorter hair, and she was extremely friendly and warm. It was my 22nd birthday and I decided to pamper myself on my birthday. I decided to go to Glamvie and try out Vlada for color,cut, and style. This was my first time going to this hair salon. When I walked in, the girls at the front immediately took my jacket and treated me to a mimosa. Then I started the process with Vlada. Vlada was just amazing and creative! Vlada colored my roots to my naturals color and started a purple ombré. The style is technically called pravana. Not only did she color my hair, but also layered it and gave me a curly blow out for my birthday night out. The staff at Glamvie always made sure I had something to drink. I was looking for a great colorist and after reading a bunch of reviews decided to give GlamVie a shot. I made an appointment a week early since that was the soonest Rosa was available. It was a wonderful experience! The salon was pristinely clean and very chic and beautiful- makes you feel that you're getting your moneys worth in terms of ambiance and experience. Now the color! Rosa warmly greeted me and introduced herself. She asked me what I wanted and after I briefly explained it she knew exactly what I was talking about. She quickly proceeded mixing up my color and applying it onto my hair. After I got washed Rosa also applied a glaze to fix my color and blended in perfectly. All in all a wonderful experience! I booked a color service here last minute because my usual salon could not accommodate me and Glamvie ladies were able to squeeze me in on a Saturday afternoon with just a couple hours notice. The salon itself is beautiful, cozy and relaxing. The staff is genuinely friendly, attentive and helpful. My service was booked with Jenny and even though all I had done today was a single process color, I can tell that she's a true professional and a master of her craft! I was greeted by a really friendly and accommodating staff. They made me a yummy cup of coffee and and offered me some pastries. I had my hair cut and colored by Gary on 11/16 and he did an AMAZING job. I was looking for a drastic change - I cut about 8 inches off of my hair and went from blonde to red. Gary's confidence and enthusiasm put me at ease and I let him work his magic. The cut is perfect - shoulder length layers and sweepy bangs. The color is a perfect golden red. I have had non-stop compliments on my hair since Sunday. The salon itself has a great ambiance and the staff is great - everyone I met was friendly and helpful.
