Confession: I really love Bingo…read more Now, maybe that makes you think I'm a bit of an old lady but you just don't understand! It's a serious rush! Hearing those numbers called, putting your dauber to the paper, feeling the adrenaline course through your veins as you find yourself 5 away from filling your card. 4....3...2... "BINGO" someone yells from the other side of the room. "WHAT THE F@*#?" You whisper scream while staring angrily at your card then angrily at the elderly woman holding up her hand in excitement. It can get intense. And more likely than not, you're going to lose. But it can be profitable. Seriously, I had 2 friends each win a grand. So that's what keeps me coming back for more. Even if I've only ever gotten one Bingo for $25. It's the promise of a cool 1K that gets me all excited. Paradise Bingo takes care of me when I'm here. It's a clean facility with super nice cashiers who take the time to explain to newbies what you need and when each card you buy is going to be called. I had two buddies who were new to the game join us last night and when they asked me what they needed to buy I just said "have them tell you," because the gals behind the counter can do a much better job that I ever will. The concession stand has some snacks and pop should you need a refreshment. The sessions go well into the night which means you're going to need fuel so go ahead and buy that bag of M&Ms, that package of Reeses Cups. You deserve it. They also sell daubers at the counter if you're not lucky enough to have a friend with a bingo bag full of roughly 10 of them to share like I am. The staff will walk around selling additional cards should you decide last minute that you wish to try your luck just a little more. They take both American and Canadian monies here and if you buy with American you win American back. Sameies with the Canadian. They also have electronic machines so you can play that way. I've never tried it because I like the traditional style but if you're tech savvy and curious you can get your touch screen on. I didn't win anything last night. Nor did anyone in my party. But that won't stop me. No. I shall not be deterred. I will get you some day, Roving L. I will make you happen sometime, full card. Yes. It will happen.

Blue LLama Jazz Club bas been on our list of places to check out for quite a while. We had heard…read moregood things about it. We made reservations Friday night for the 7:00PM show. They have two performances 7:00 PM & 8:30 PM. The interior decor is modern with the lounge vibe, kind of what you would expect for a Jazz Club. We were pleasantly greeted by the Hostess when we arrived, checked in and were taken to our table. Our server Julia, promptly greeted us and took our cocktail order. Great craft cocktails! They have a nice diverse menu with many options to choose from. We opted to go for small plates and had the Joey D's Killer Cornbread; sweet potato, with chipotle maple butter. It is served warm of course and it was very, very good. We also ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, with pimento cheese. They were nicely battered and had great taste and flavor. The pimento cheese was a nice accompaniment. Lastly, we ordered the Apricot-Prosciutto Flatbread with sage-ricotta, burrata and arugula. The only thing we did not care for was the flatbread, it was not browned or crispy like most flatbreads dishes we have had, cooked in a pizza oven. Its consistency was doughy. All the other ingredients on it were good, just not the flatbread itself. The Jazz for the evening was performed by the Noah Hogan Quartet and they were fantastic. Would definitely go see them again. Overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend checking them out. There is a $25 per person cover charge. Reasonable for such a nice club.

This was my first time at a jazz club and it was a lot of fun. The servers and other employees were…read moreall very helpful and kind. There are a couple larger tables on the floor and many bar seats/tables for 2. The shows start at 7&9 most nights. We saw a quintet perform and it lasted about an hour. The musicians were very talented and passionate. The food was just ok. I liked the gnocchi and the micro greens and breadcrumbs were a nice touch. The blue mitten baby lettuce salad was pretty simple, I wished there were more toppings on it. I parked behind the building in a paid lot & it wasn't too expensive but filled up quick on the weekend.
