I have had a month-long fiasco with the service department, in dealing with my 2018 Subaru Outback. I purchased the vehicle new from Glanzmann just 6 months ago. The infotainment system (GPS, Bluetooth, CD, Radio, clock, back-up Camera) are all dead. When they first died, I called for a service appointment. The scheduler told me it would be over a month before they could look at my car. I complained on their Facebook page, and they called me back, and offered to look at the car. They diagnosed the problem, placed the part on order, and placed me on the list for a loaner (on 11/19/18.) I was "second on the list" in mid November. Now, on December 8, I STILL don't have a loaner. Subaru USA tried to intervene on my behalf, to no avail. I am being completely ignored. On at least five different occasions they said "we'll check and call you back" and not one single time have I even gotten a return phone call! I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and asked their assistance in resolving this problem. There is no possible way this many "slip-ups" is an accident. Went above and beyond to make it a positive experience. Everyone really helped to make it a good transaction and I am very happy because the car is a beauty! I bought it used but it feels new to me! The service department had my car for 4 working days without performing any work for a drainage problem. The tech waited until 6the:00PM to let me know that no work could be done that day due to not having access to the right equipment this after having my car for two full days. As a young woman, I usually need to put on my RBF before entering any dealership, while bracing myself for the worst. This is not at all the case with Glanzmann Subaru. I had my Impreza serviced at Glanzmann for two years, eventually selling my car to them, and I was very impressed with both the service and sales departments. Experience with the service department: someone is always there to either assist you or at least acknowledge you when you arrive; loaners are readily available while your car is being serviced; nice waiting area; good prices; service department is reasonably transparent about costs and doesn't try and pressure you. Experience with the sales department: I had gotten an appraisal from Mark Glanzmann before I was ready to sell my car. By the time I was ready to sell, Mark lowered his offer a little bit but gave a reasonable explanation why. When I came in to sell the car, the dealership didn't try and pull anything or low ball me, and the process went by smoothly and quickly with no surprises. To top it off, they even gave me a ride home. Overall, this is a dealership with very high quality customer service and personable staff. Glanzmann Subaru clearly understands the importance of taking care of their customers rather than doing whatever they can to turn a quick buck. I tend to shop around a lot before I make big purchases, and my experience at Glanzmann stands out from other dealerships/repair shops I've come into contact with. Highly recommended. read more

I simply love this place. I purchased my brand new OUTBACK in 2011 and have been in love ever since! Not only the car itself is great, but their Service people are excellent too! Everytime I drop my car off for an oil change or inspection I have the option to wait or get a rental for the day, at no cost to me. They're always helpful, just yesterday I came in to pick up my spear key and I notice this light came on for my air pressure. The service rep just took my car into the garage and adjusted and check my tire pressure for me at no charge, sooo I'm extremely glad I purchase my car from here! read more

I've been a customer for years. Recently, I'd ordered a missing part from them - small button on back seat to recline the seat - and wanted it installed. I'd also ordered a relplacement cover for one of my low beam lights, which i asked them to install at the same time, even though I knew it was a snap-on part that I could install myself. When I first called, in March, I was told it would be a month, or so, to get the parts in. I was told the parts were in, finally, several weeks later, so I took the car in. I waited TWO HOURS, in a waiting room that was FREEZING(!), only to be told that the actual part was NOT in. The other part was installed (snapped in). So why was I called, in the first place, and told the parts were in??? I had to reschedule my appt., and, finally, the seat part had arrived, and was installed. This time I only waited an hour. I found out later, when that part fell out, again, that that, too, was simply a matter of snapping it into the spot where it was missing from - which I was able to do very easily. I was charged $33.45, however, for their mechanic to do so. It's taken me awhile to write this review, as I was so angry to be inconvenienced in this manner. Purchased two Subies from Glanzmann and wouldn't go anywhere else! They've treated me so well and go out of their way to make the car-buying experience a positive one. I left my garage door opener in my old car and they drove it out to me in New Jersey after I realized I left it there. I will never buy a car from this particular Subaru Dealership after my experience with them. I love Subaru's, and have had really good experiences at a variety of Subaru dealerships throughout the years. This is the first time I have ever felt cheated by a Subaru dealership. I am a longtime Subaru owner...I was on my 4th (a forester) looking to trade the Forester for an Outback (it can tow more). I found one at John F Kennedy, a 2018 that I really liked and one at Glanzmann, a 2017. The one at Glanzmann was a year older, but had less mileage and was $3K cheaper (didn't have eyesight like the JFK 2018)... At JFK they wrote up an estimate that included a 1.99% APR and said it was a Subaru promotion for the month. When they wrote up an estimate at Glanzmann, they didn't include that. When I asked about it, they said I would get that rate only if my credit score qualified. Knowing my credit score is over 850, I knew that wasn't a problem! After hemming and hawing about which vehicle to get (eyesight is a big draw), I decided to go with the 2017 at Glanzmann (to save some money...due to Coronavirus, no ones financial future is certain). I called and reassured that they would give me the 1.99% over 72 months if my credit score was in the excellent range (They even said so in email...which I still have). So I let them know that I was going forward with it, they took a $500 deposit to hold the vehicle until air filled out paperwork. I filled out the paperwork and waited and waited and waited. On the last day of the promotion (1.99% from Subaru) I called and asked what was going on (what was taking so long). The guy I was working with (Andrew Casey) said he was waiting on the bank and that he would get back to me in a half hour or so....2 hours later I hadn't heard from him, so I called... no answer...so I emailed, and waited...after another hour or so went by, I emailed another person that I had corresponded with at Glanzmann and also called him again (no answer)...when he finally called back he said he wouldn't or couldn't honor the 1.99% and that he could only offer 4.99...I asked what my credit score was and he said it came to 857...me: "So, why aren't I getting the 1.99% that is a Subaru promotion?" (not a dealer promotion)...Andrew Casey: "it's only for new cars" me: "but the car at JFK Subaru is used...and I was told and written in email that I would get that rate if I qualified"...he kept giving me the roundabout saying there must have been confusion (how is there confusion when I have only ever looked at one car?...I got really frustrated after spending 7 hours trying to get a car (just in this last step) and asked for my $500 back)...he seemed really happy when I asked and refunded it within 10 minutes. I called John F Kennedy Subaru at 2 pm...again last day of the Subaru 1.99% promo (and I still needed a tow vehicle), filled out my paperwork (at the end of the day)...he called me right back, and after a few quick exchanges I had a new car by 4:45 pm that night with a 1.99 interest rate...in less than 3 hours! it's SO nice when a dealer does what he says he will. As far as the car at Glanzmann, the car went back on their website after they closed that night, and was somehow sold and off the website by 9:30 am the next morning...they obviously had another buyer lined up...SO SHADY!!! At the same time, I am really glad I gave my business to good people (John F Kennedy Subaru), and I think overall I got the better car!!! (Eyesight) read more

My recent interaction with your shop was disappointing to say the least. I have a 2019 Subaru Forester with less than 20,000 miles on it. At my recent appointment for inspection I was informed that all four of my tires were worn on the inner side. As you can see I don't drive the car much. So, there was no need to come in except for inspection and oil change once a year. At none of these appointments or the so called multi point inspections was a tire rotation done or recommended. I mistakenly assumed it seems, that tire rotation was part of the inspection or at least oil change. Now I have to pay almost a $1000.00 for four new tires. Your staff is speculating that the wear on my tires is due to possible wheel alignment. I had someone else look at the car and there is nothing wrong with the alignment. I have purchased or leased cars from Glanzman for almost twenty years. I have also heard numerous complaints from others over the years about your service. My siblings, whom I convinced to buy from you also complained, but I ignored them all because I had no problems. I thought I was dealing with a reputable and honest company. Even after my siblings even moved on to other dealerships. Now it seems I will be joining the ranks of dissatisfied customers and moving on elsewhere. After reviewing all my paperwork on previous inspections and oil changes, no tire rotation was indicated or offered. Goodyear attempted to contact Glanzman to inquire about a tire warranty and they failed to respond. While searching online for possible causes for the wear of my tires. It seems there are two recalls for which I never received notification. The power steering of 2/6/19 and the PVC valve of 12/2/19. I have had no response to this matter either. these recalls should be addressed promptly but haven't. I really don't appreciate the stress and time I've had to deal with on this issue. read more

My wife and I, both own Subarus. I have not had a problem with Glanzmann until my last visit. The end of January I needed a battery on my 2014 Impreza. During the waiting period, I was told that I had a nail in the tire, bulb out and that my L/F Tire was worn and should be rotated to the back so that the good tires are on the front of the vehicle. I agreed to all of the above and made a appointment for a recall that needed attention. Two weeks later (Feb 11th) , I returned to the Dealer for the recall. This is where it gets interesting. I was told again, that the L/F tire was worn and that it needed replacing or be rotated. I asked that they double check that it was indeed the L/F tire. It was confirmed with the mechanic. At this point, I asked why did I pay for this 2 weeks ago, because obviously it was never done ? I got the deer in headlight look. Since they were now caught, I was told that the tire would be rotated this time (no charge) and I was offered a $25 discount off of my bill. However, I feel that this was a scam and LOST MY TRUST in Glanzmann. I will not be returning to do any kind of business there. read more

To call what they have a service department is a stretch on words. When I bought my car from Glanzmann I thought the convenience to work was a factor in the purchase. Their primary interest is in selling service, not actually doing the service. I bought a set of tires from them about a year ago. The original set lasted 65,000 miles which was great. So far with the new set that they recommended I have had to replace 2 in the back, one at a time. I sat in the waiting room 6 hours before they believed me that it had a slow leak in the sidewall. Now today one of the front tires is low on air. I called them to get an appointment and was told NON AVAILABLE. I called Dan Geist a couple of times and no answer. I was on my way home from adopting a rescue pup and ran over a piece of debris on the freeway that messed up one of the mud flaps on my Outback. What might have turned into a disaster was only a 1 hour delay due to the quick and friendly service center at Glanzmann Subaru. They were careful with PPE, able to take me in immediately and fixed the issue in less than 10 minutes. Where shall I start? I only bought two Crosstreks from that location within 6 months of each other. Yes, I am being sarcastic because it was obviously a huge mistake. The first one was purchased in December 2016 and completely totaled in March 2017 when another driver Tboned me and sent me rolling over 4 or 5 times. To this day, I still do not understand how this was even possible, considering the solid reputation of Subaru, but I guess I should be grateful for not dying- I still ended up with 5 herniated discs, PTSD and a major neck issue. But I am not dead. I then purchased the same vehicle- not quite sure why... I bought both of them cash and I would have appreciated a bit of a discount when I purchased the second one. Not really... I just found out about a major security recall and all they could offer me was an appointment in about 4 weeks time. Needless to say, I am not happy! This place used to be decent but it's going downhill very fast. Subarus are, in my humble opinion, overpriced and nowhere near as safe as they advertise it. I wrote this shining review last year and skipped the recall. I have PTSD from the crash I mentioned and need the help of a friend to get my car to this dealer for both the recall and to install a remote engine starter. Well, my friend tells me her dealer, Barbera offers pick up services but apparently Glanzmann doesn't- even if gave them over 60 grand cash in less than 6 months apart. This dealership really sucks. I did not end up purchasing a car from here only because they did not have the exact vehicle with the features that I wanted within my timeline but the team here helped me figure out what that was and encouraged me to go get that car wherever it may be. I had dropped the car to another Subaru dealership and they couldn't find any issues with the car either. Unfortunately, I know the issue is still there and looks like it will not be resolved because no one seems to be able to replicate the issue. I do not blame Glanzmann at this time for not being able to diagnose the issue. -------Update as of 4/18/2018.------- I have sent a message back to Jeff after reading his comment. The reason for Glanzmann not being able to replicate the issue is because the car engine temp needs to be around 210 and usually in winter about 15 mins of test drive does not make the temperature that high unless the car is warmed up. This is very reason I missed this issue when I went for the test drives a couple times. P.S I do appreciate the owner trying to get in touch with me to resolve the issue. ------ ------ Original review: I have some issues with the certified pre-owned car that I bought but I am going to work with the dealership to get it resolved even though the issues was not resolved on the the initial visit. It is entirely possible the issue was not fixed because of weather conditions and temperature. read more

Glantzman has had my review removed twice by yelp. Here it is again, edited so as to comply with yelp's TOS. Glanzmann Subaru affixed a sticker advertising themselves to the tailgate of the new vehicle we purchased. I tried to pull it off but could not. Turns out it is a tamper-proof sticker requiring specialized equipment to remove. I can understand the license plate holder advertisement they also attached; that can be unscrewed with relative ease, but a non-removable sticker?! The Subaru dealership made me another appointment to get all the stuff fixed up. They replaced the cargo cover, reconnected the window switch etc free of charge, even picked up the car from my driveway and dropped off a free loaner. Overall, vehicle was pretty much in the original shape to prior service. Jeff really takes care of the dealership but I'm still giving it only 4 stars because it still caused me inconvenience of having to make another appointment and it should have been done right on the first try by the service department. read more

They could not diagnose my car and said nothing was wrong. I brought it to a different shop. They installed my sister's brakes incorrectly. She figured that out when she took her car to a different shop because her recently installed brakes weren't working correctly. read more

I spent all of last weekend researching a new car. With the help of my boyfriend, we went with a Subaru. We first went to the Welsh dealership up at Limerick. I test drove a Subaru Crosstrek and loved it. Unfortunately the one I wanted was not in stock, price was too high and we couldn't reach a middle ground, but above all, the service there was not great anyway. So we came to Glanzmann and what a difference! I got the 2015 Crosstrek at a great price and I absolutely love the people that worked with me. Andrew, my salesman, was such a great and honest guy. We just purchased a new Subaru Crosstrek, and the experience couldn't have been better. We originally went in looking for a Pre-Owned Certified 2013, so we worked with Neal, but wound up leaving with a brand spanking new one for a better price. Neal was very transparent through the whole process, even taking time on his days off to speak with his manager etc. so that we could get the process done quickly. They even battled through an ice storm, and continued to give great service when the dealership had no power and was working on a generator. We traded in our old car and believe we got a fair value for it. We wanted the new car before a trip to New England, but because of the ice storm, the transaction couldn't be completed. The managers agreed to loan us an SUV to drive up there, and finalize the deal on the following Monday. What awesome service! Super excited to be a part of the Subaru family. :) read more

Not only do they have a great sales team (John S. happens to be my favorite...) but the SERVICE department is stellar. They always fix everything on time and are lovely and accommodating. This is by far the worst dealership around. They tried to convince me that since my tires were slightly overinflated the warranty for the tire sensor was voided. After checking with another dealer I confirmed that that was just an effort to rip me off for a quick $100. When I put up a fuss, they acted as if they were doing me a favor and put it through as warranty covered. The whole thing was a despicable attempt at ripping me off (older white woman- must be stupid with all things -cars). I believe after having numerous problems with this dealership that it is their culture and for Glazmann it is business as usual. No integrity and no honor. I have learned my lesson even though geographically it is better-there is NO reason to go to Glazmann. Buyer beware and repairs-forget about it. Run don't walks away!!! read more

My mother brought her 2012 forester in for scheduled service on a Tuesday morning (oil change and state inspection). It wasn't completed until Thursday! She called late Tuesday and they said mechanics called out and wouldn't be done on Tuesday. Wednesday she called in the afternoon multiple times and when finally got through said it wouldn't be done that day either and offered a loaner. When she picked it up Thursday they took off $20! Quite honestly it should of been free and the next oil change should of been free! 3 days for an oil change and state inspection that didn't need anything! If they were having that kind of employee/mechanic issue they should of had her pick it back up and reschedule another day! Update: Dan (service manager) called to apologize and offer next oil change for free. He had no knowledge of the poor service/communication. My personal opinion is if a customers car is there for more than a day for preventive maint (no additional parts needed/ordered) he should be taking a more personal interest and calling customers himself! Also she was charged $20 for a tire rotation when the tires needed to be removed and reinstalled anyway as part as the state inspection! read more

Third time trying to get an oil change on my Subaru Outback. They wont take an appointment for oil changes, just drive in and they'll get you right in. So I stop by on three occasions and each time either ignored me fir fifteen minutes or longer. Or on one occasion, after 15 minutes told me it would be two hours wait, fir an oil change. read more

Terrible. My son and his dad purchased an Impreza.My son's first car. GPS not working properly. They set up an appointment and said it could take 3 to 4 hours. After he came for his appointment at 11 am they told him they could not do anything and he had to wait for an update in spring if the issue could be fixed. They also were supposed to give him a 50 gas card for his car purchase. When he came for his appointment they told him it was passed the 45 days for issuing the card. He asked to come in months before to pick it up but they said they would give it to him when he came a few days ago but then said it was to late. I just purchased a gently used outback (2019 under 7500 miles) from Glanzmann after finding the car online. Internet department was friendly and the salesman Jake Lightfoot was also lovely. Big problem encountered has to do with a specific manager named Dana and his horrible attitude and overall nasty demeanor. The other issue I ran into was regarding major inexperience in handling registration/tax/title for a car being registered in a state other than PA. Their inexperience and frankly incompetence in facilitation and providing clear instructions of their role has caused me to have to spend a day at the NY DMV to register the car myself when this should have been done by the dealership (and license plates should be mailed to my home at MY convenience). When I called to ask them to take care of this issue, I was told it was "too late" and the title documents were "out of their hands". Which is likely nonsense,they just don't want to make a change to a "closed sale" which they misled and were not knowledgeable about the process in the first place. Lazy. Now I have to go in person to the DMV during covid-19 to Take care of tags that should have been sent directly to my home. In terms of Dana's attitude (disgusting). On the day I visited to review the car and decided to purchase. I made no attempt to ask for any adjustment of the price or the fees charged for processing. I felt the car was well priced and had done my research about the specific model so offered to pay their asking price like a complete gentleman. The only thing I asked for was for them to put a roof crossbar on the car at no charge (which comes with the car when it's new but didn't exist on this specific car). Salesman went to Dana and said customer is not haggling on price but would like to have the crossbar added to the car. I overheard Dana saying loudly and rudely back to the salesman that he considered that small request to be haggling. I took offense to that and almost walked out. I liked the car and decided to proceed. Owner Of the dealership must have overheard and saw the situation and went to the stock room and pulled out the crossbars and gave them to the salesman as a gentlemanly gesture- which was certainly noticed and appreciated. Dana can learn a thing or two about service and sales from this incident. Two days later when I arrived to pick up the car and pay my full balance, the battery wouldn't start and the cross bars added were not put on in the right position (shown on the instructions). They were somewhat embarrassed and replaced the battery and fixed the crossbars. I understand little issues occur and felt that they handled this well. However, while this was going on..... Dana came outside and in true jerk fashion firmly told me that it's a used car and there is no dealer warranty. Thanks Dana- everyone knows that! I had not been able to start the car you just sold me enough to even move it out of your parking lot. Really crappy behavior. Owner- gentleman Salesman- friendly and lovely Dana (manager) - needs a lot of education. Overall, love the Subaru. Wish they would have been more accommodating to help with the tags/tax/registration- that's what the $$425+ in fees paid on top of car cost is supposed to pay for. So they essentially are stealing from me in not just money but also time and putting my health in danger (dmv during covid) Hope others have better experiences. read more

Never once did he hedge or hem or haw when I visited the showroom more than three times or emailed him with questions...always professional and calm and helpful and did I mention...patient!! Overall, a great car buying experience. No pushy salesman here. You want it? Get it. You don't? Its okay. Very disappointed in the quality of the work of the Service Dept at Glanzmann. I've only been here twice and had 2 negative/dangerous experiences. Negative Experience 1 - The first time I came here was last year for an oil change/tire rotation. I choice to go to the dealership to get the extra service of a professional safety inspection from trusted experts. I didn't need an appointment, which was very convenient, and they were able to take my car right away for service. After completion, as I started driving away I heard a whirring sound coming from the front driver's side and noticed the car's handling seemed off. I brought it back, explaining that the noise wasn't occurring before I came in, insisting they take a second look at it. They said they would. After a few back and forths between the customer service rep and the technician, she came over to me and said, "The lug nuts were not tightened to spec", downplaying the incident. This is a pretty serious oversight. The wheel could have fallen off and caused an accident. In the days following up, I was bombarded with calls, texts, and emails about how my service was and to schedule another, but they never admitted fault for tried to make any reparations. I now get my oil changes/rotations done elsewhere for much cheaper and without issue. Negative Experience 2 - This week, I brought my car in for another service: an airbag recall by the manufacturer, covered under warranty. While I was here, I decided to add in 60,000 mi maintenance service as well. Even though I had a negative experience with Glanzman last time, I chalked it up to a fluke and decided to give them another chance since they have such a good online reputation and generally have pleasant people manning the desk. I dropped the car off, and they called me back the following day, saying that during the the safety inspection, they noticed my serpentine belt was cracked and suggested get it replaced. I agreed, since this is also the type of thing that could cause a pretty serious accident. I called later that afternoon to check in when the car would be ready for pick-up. They said it was ready now, at about 4:30 pm though they closed at 5. When the service was completed, I knew I would be late picking it up and didn't want to keep them waiting after hours or to come back the next day since I had work, so I asked them to close out my account and leave the key. When I got there, I started my car and immediately heard a slapping sound coming from the engine. I opened the hood, and found the new serpentine belt had torn and pieces of it were slapping around under the hood (See photos). I don't know how anyone could have missed that, it was pretty loud! Since it was after hours, no one was in the building or available to answer the phone. I detailed the incident and sent photos to the Service Department's customer line via text. I did not feel comfortable driving the car home and left it in the lot. I had to take $70s in Ubers back and forth to the dealership from my house in Philadelphia, and will have to miss work to deal with this in the morning. I'm pretty upset that 2/2 every time I've been to Glanzmann there has been an egregious error performed on my car. Both times, the car was in worse condition driving away than when I had pulled in. I don't trust the work or attention to detail of the service technicians. They should probably be audited by Subaru. I've paid my bill in full and don't know what they are going to do to make it up to me. Safety is priceless. read more
