This shows there is at least 4/32" of tread left at the lowest point on the tire

I had a really disappointing experience at Glanzmann Subaru and would strongly caution others before going there for inspection or service. They failed my PA inspection on a 2023 Subaru Forester with only 27,000 miles -- not for anything remotely serious, but for extremely minor issues that felt more like an excuse to upsell than legitimate safety concerns. First, they failed the car over a tiny nick on a windshield wiper blade that was still fully functional, and then quoted $55 to replace it. They also claimed my tires needed to be replaced immediately and quoted $445 for mounting and balancing two tires -- all based on a very small cosmetic mark on the tread. The tires still have measurable tread (around 4/32") and no structural damage or exposed cords. I've attached photos of the exact tire they failed so others can judge for themselves -- there is a small mark, but nothing that reasonably justifies failing a state inspection. When I questioned it, they pointed to "state requirements," which is misleading at best. PA inspection rules are clear about what actually constitutes a failure, and this didn't meet that threshold. The overall impression I got was that they are actively looking for the smallest possible issue to fail your inspection so they can sell you overpriced repairs on the spot. I understand safety matters -- but this felt like a business model, not a safety standard. I will not be returning, and I'd recommend others consider a more honest, independent shop for inspections. Response to Owner: I'm going to respond directly because your reply misrepresents both the situation and Pennsylvania inspection standards. At no point did I make "threats." I stated that I would share my experience publicly -- which is exactly what I am doing now. That's not a threat, that's transparency. More importantly, your claim that these were "clear failures under PA inspection guidelines" is simply not accurate. Under PA inspection regulations (67 Pa. Code §175), a tire fails if: Tread depth is below 2/32", Tread wear indicators are flush with the tread in two adjacent grooves, or Ply/cord is exposed or there is structural damage. None of those conditions were present. The tire in question has approximately 4/32" of tread remaining, with no exposed cords or structural damage. The small cosmetic mark your team identified as "secondary rubber" is not listed anywhere in PA inspection code as a failure condition. Similarly, a fully functional wiper blade with a minor nick does not constitute a clear failure unless it cannot properly clear the windshield. Mine was operational. Saying these were "clear failures" under state law is misleading. At best, your team applied an overly conservative internal standard -- which is your choice -- but that is very different from a legal requirement. What is more concerning is that you, as the owner, are publicly standing by these decisions. That suggests this is not an isolated judgment call by a technician, but a broader, systemic approach at Glanzmann Subaru to interpret inspection standards in a way that benefits the service department. When minor or borderline items are failed and immediately paired with high-cost replacements ($55 for wipers, $445 for two tires), it creates the appearance of an upsell-driven inspection process rather than an objective one. I fully understand that licensed inspectors must follow the law. My issue is that the law is being incorrectly cited to justify decisions that go beyond what is actually required. I stand by my original review, and I've provided photos so others can judge for themselves.

Car #2 just purchased from Glanzmann. Everything went as expected. No curveballs thrown! If you remember, definitely ask for Liz Gross for your salesperson! She explained different options to us and after "settlement" spent more than an hour with us showing us how to operate this super computer on wheels. Received follow up text from Liz too. Love our new 2022 Subaru Outback Touring! Luxury and safety perfection! We will absolutely go to Glanzmann Subaru for our next car! Good luck in your new upcoming showroom, service center. Looks amazing!

And how about them bathrooms? Every single one appeared to be private and handicap accessible, like entire rooms within the restroom. The paperwork process we went through here was the only impressive paperwork process I've seen in my life. There was a huge table screen for viewing documents and signing. I'm pretty sure you can't place a mug of coffee on it, but that's impressive stuff. All info is on a usb drive and given to you after signing. Everything is delivered by folks who look and sound like they went to finishing school and ran through a magical polishing machine before coming to work. We didn't buy a Lexus and we didn't need to bother with financing, and the car we purchased would've easily been moved off the lot the next day or week, but they certainly treated us like their other high-end customers. After a super efficient process, congrats and a handshake, we were presented with our immaculate three-year used vehicle. Imagine all of those positive vibes after a massive personal screw up. There was absolute no pressure at all. Very laid back, easy going procedure, no high pressure glitz. Most of this happened over the phone. We live an hour and a half a way. When he had everything figured out with the bank, Sokratis sent a text saying it is a go and when can we meet. I was shocked and happy. Every time we thanked him he told us it was his pleasure and that is what he is there for. I will definitely be back to this dealer and to work with Sokratis when I am ready to trade my car in.

We were stranded for 5 hours in a brand new jeep on our way to vacation, which was ruined. When we were buying, we were lucky enough to have a great sales guy. We had a great experience. The sales person is pretty much the only person at the dealership.who consistently replies. I don't know what happened to this place, the sales experience was great due in large part to D'Andre, but the management in both sales and service show no accountability for trying to make things right with a vehicle that broke down within 3 months. We are so glad though because it led us to finding my dream car at MB FW, and the sale manager Matt M. communicated and made the deal come together quickly, he was fair, and transparent. He answered car questions and helped at least half a dozen times with my questions AFTER the purchase. Our sales associate Brittany (Meghan Markle twin) - she was SO kind, and SO patient. I was coming from a car that was almost 20 years old so my learning curve was steep. When we arrived she spent no less than an HOUR going through every last single button on the car and setting everything up for my preferences. She knew the car inside and out. We were floored, and didn't expect it but appreciated it beyond what we knew at the time because it was alot for my husband and I, both coming from our college cars that were before cars became so high tech. We appreciated her knowledge, after coming from another dealership where we tried to buy a car, but the sales woman couldn't answer ANYTHING, and kept pushing us towards a car she had in stock, when we had explained a bench versus captain seats were a non negotiable. We would have stayed with her for the search but she could not answer a single question about the car and also thought it was an electric vehicle until we pointed out it was a gas powered car with a battery feature. We lost out confidence at that moment. My husband and I buy and keep cars for the long haul and although car buying is an awful process usually, MB FW (Matt and Brittany specifically, went above and beyond on numerous occasions for us to make it a smooth transaction both before AND after purchase which is when you really learn about a sales persons character. I wanted to write this short review as a follow up on the great service provided by Tom & son's at their great establishment. So, I went into Philly a few weeks before the big snow storm and possibly hit a speed bump, and possibly caught some air with a not so smooth landing. Two weeks later we had the biggest storm of the year. I had to leave my home and I drove on a street near my home that hadn't been plowed yet. After that I started hearing a scratching sound every time I left my driveway and occasionally on the road. When I checked I saw I had dented a panel that covers the front end of my car. I decided to head to Tom's one day while doing some errands to see if he could take care of it. Just a pop-in. I told what had happened and he could actually see it from just looking under, so he can let me know when to bring it in and all that. He figured the part and asked if I had bought it already cus I did bring him my fog light before. He remembered. So I told him no, he'd have to order it. He said to bring it in and they'd use the lift. In my head I was like, really now?! Cool! A young man I believe his son, asked for my keys and drove it in and put it on the lift. He said the damage was minimal and nothing else seamed to be at all. He took out the panel and reworked it back to normal. The whole experience was only about 20 min and the cool part was they let me stay inside while doing it! They brought the car down and asked Tom "How much I owe'ya?" He said "Nah, don't worry about it." I said really? Let me at least give you something for lunch or something for you guys. And he said you're good don't worry about it. I thanked him with a firm handshake and hug and thanked his son as well and went about my day. It was a minor thing but it had a world of difference to me, not only that he didn't charge but just giving that feeling of how my fellow man could help me out in a time of need. I was very relieved because had that not been fixed other issues could arise (Think of Newman when he hit that sewing machine on the highway) that's what I was worried about. Hahaha! This business is truly in my heart and should be in yours too, so stop in, they are local! I said I'd be visiting them again, and I was riiight! :)
