In July 2025, I contacted Thompson Toyota to place an advance order for a 2026 Toyota RAV4 Limited Hybrid. I clearly explained that I would purchase the vehicle from Thompson if they honored the $500 Hero discount that was being offered at Team Toyota. The Sales Manager, Steve Tagye, responded and initially confirmed that honoring the $500 discount would not be an issue. Based on this clear agreement, I placed a deposit. After several months of waiting for the redesigned RAV4 to enter production, the dealership located a vehicle for me in February. At this point, communication broke down completely. The sales consultant, Ken, could not make even minor decisions and was forced to defer to Steve Tagye for nearly everything. In March, Steve Tagye unilaterally backed out of the previously agreed-upon $500 discount on a vehicle with a list price of approximately $49,000. Despite the clear documentation of our agreement and my repeated references to it, he refused to honor the commitment and attempted to argue that the agreement never existed. This was a blatant use of manipulative and unethical sales tactics, wasting my time and trust. I immediately requested my deposit back and decided to take my business elsewhere. I ordered a car from Thompson and then decided to buy another brand. I notified the Sales rep, Michelle Wagenseller (yes, perfect name!) immediately. She responded in less than 1/2 hr. in the most professional and gracious manner one could hope for, accompanied by a receipt for my $1000 deposit. She had spent a lot of time with us and was most helpful, but reacted to my message with no pressure at all. When the time comes, we will definitely go back to Thompson. read more

The service was not good. My battery was dying, but I had a fairly new car. I knew it was dying; it was causing dash lights to come on. I explained this to them. They did not check my battery and just cleared everything. They told me it was something with my headlights, and that I had to go back to the dealership where I bought the car, which is in Delaware. Two days later, my car would not start. I had to call AAA - they came out and told me that my battery was dead. I took it back to get it replaced for free. While I was there, I walked over to sales to speak with someone about the GR Corolla. It had not been released in the US at the time, but I knew that it would be, and I asked to put a deposit down. The sales guy told me that he would not take my money because the GR Corolla is not coming to the US. I told him how I knew this; I was at a formula drift event where the Gazoo Racing division announced that the GR Corolla would be releasing in the US. The sales guy still sent me out. I am about to trade my Corolla Hatch in for the GR at a different dealership. The one that the sales guy said wasn't going to be here. I don't want to assume that these two situations were due to the fact that I am a woman, but it's difficult not to. read more

I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma, and my truck is my baby! I've had my truck since new, and while it wasn't purchased at Thompson, it has gotten a lot of service done there. There is an ongoing recall on Tacomas due to frame rot, and Thompson replaced my frame in November 2021 as part of that recall. My truck has almost 160K miles on it as of this post, and the head gasket blew a couple weeks ago. Thompson really helped me out with regards to getting my truck properly repaired and back on the road in less than three days, and even put me in a loaner for the duration. If you bring your vehicle to Thompson, make sure you ask for Michael Graham. There's also this guy named Jaison who is the service manager, but I forget his last name... But yeah, in my opinion, Thompson is the only honest dealer in Bucks County! read more

I went in to discuss about purchasing new car but the Sales man (Mr. Frank!) was not too interested. It could be due to long waiting list they have. They were not even willing to explain me differences between LE, XLE and other variants. Instead, he would say tell me your questions and I will answer them while simultaneously working on putting you in our system. I could clearly say he was not paying attention when I ask him about various costs associated with purchasing of the vehicle. He claimed to be selling Toyotas for 20yrs but still had to check with his manager on how PA Sales tax is calculated. For a car costing $35K, if I put down $10K, PA Sales tax would be applied on remainder of balance which is $25K! I question now if they are genuinely interested in selling a car to me as they have a big order list. At the end, the manager came and told me that we won't worry about calling you as we have many customers in the list ahead of you. The Sales person's office is in the right side corner from the entrance. They are dishonest in their advertisement of EV tax credit where they claim if you purchase a hybrid vehicle, you get federal tax credit of $7500! When I ask the manager, he made something up and told me that it is not applicable despite it being written in big letters on their posters. I just had my 2019 Toyota Highlander serviced at Thompson Toyota. For the first time, I was paying for my oil and filter change since my free Toyota Care has ended. I decided to go to a dealer for just an oil change because their price was competitive and I knew from past experience that the service would be perfect. Once again, I could not have been happier with the outstanding customer service I received. From calling to get the price of my synthetic oil service and making my reservation through the days following my appointment, they actively communicated with me to remind me of my appointment and conducted follow-ups to ensure I was completely satisfied with the service I had received. The valet staff that greeted me and started my check in process were friendly and welcoming. The service advisor was knowledgeable and friendly. The waiting room was great and my service was completed within the timeframe they estimated. I plan to return for all my future service needs. read more

Don't go here for state inspection. It states that the inspection is free which sounds good but they get your money. Friday I went to get my inspection. They told me that I had to repair some parts to pass the inspection. It told them to repair it but not the leak in the exhaust system. They said it would cost $1,100. I went to meineke and got it done for $300. Went back to Thompson to get my inspection, they refused to pass my car because oof a crack in the taillight. This has been there for years. I would give a zero rating if I could. I brought my 2017 Toyota in for routine maintenance and it was sent over to the body shop as it had bent suspension. I was told to call my insurance company .The agency for\ my insurance said it would not be covered. Thompson previously fixed my car. Now it is bent? Yes, they said I must have gone over a pothole. I was told that there would be no charge. The next day I got a voicemail that the bill would be twice what they quoted. Shouldn't they have told me before they went about fixing it? The communication was lacking and I no longer trust Thompson. To add insult to injury they called the same day after I paid asking for $116.00 for the body collision shop. I had been told that it was covered. I will NEVER take my car back to these people. Its important that a dealer explain the charges before they occur so that you know whether you want to go someplace else. Just had my Tacoma remote and key replaced ( due to a unfortunate encounter with my English bulldog !) they informed me there were a open recall and arranged a loaner and took care of everything ! Here is how I feel about bringing our cars into Thomson Toyota for servicing. I'm strongly thinking about finding an independent service center going forward. I'm really not happy with the way Thomson consistently tries to up sell us on services not yet called for in the Toyota maintenance manuals. On her most recent visit Thomson talked my wife into flushing her transmission at 75,000 miles, when it's not required until 120,000 miles. In addition Thomson has tried to get me to apply unnecessary services on my Corolla multiple times when I've brought it in for past service visits. These "early" recommendations serve Thomson Toyota's interests and not ours. This is not how I expect to be treated as a customer and find it totally dishonest and self serving on Thomson's part. Overpaid. I called other places after having my car fixed there, which is my fault. I've been taking my car there for a while and recently their charges have gone through the roof. I'm having other issues in regards to the part they fixed, but I'm not sure yet if it's just something else that went wrong with my vehicle or was there doing. Needless to say, I will not be taking my car to them going forward. Thank you, however I already spoke with one of your associates who told me it does take them 3+ hours to weld a very small piece of the exhaust and that's why it cost me hundreds of dollars to repair the small hole that was in the exhaust. This dealership is corrupt! I introduced them to a special model being produced by Toyota well over a year ago. I spoke with a Sales Manager, Paul Hagen, who knew nothing about the vehicle. I offered to put down a deposit, but was told by him that they would not take deposits until the Model number was known. I brought the dealership and Paul Hagen the Model number and pricing sheet the day it was released, and got what was supposedly the first Vehicle Buyer's Order for that car that same day, signed by Mr. Hagen. Later, when following up on the vehicle, another sales person claimed to me that I was "6th on their list", so I went to speak with Mr. Hagen. After a brief discussion, he assured me that I would be the first person contacted if they got one of the vehicles. The dealership was allocated that vehicle today, May 31'st... and now they're reneging on the agreement. I contacted the Sales Manager, Paul Hagen, who said he'd "check on it." When he called back, he claimed that it was being sold to "someone coming in", but wouldn't confirm whether it was a customer or someone associated with the dealership, and then claimed he "knows nothing about it." He also claimed that he never told me that I'd be the first in line, nor that I was the first Vehicle Buyer's Order created for the vehicle. Paul Hagen is a liar, and this dealership should be avoided at all costs! The response below from the Business Manager is incorrect, and untruthful. And I have previously spoken with the General Manager on December 20, 2022, and was referred back to Mr. Hagen, at which time Mr. Hagen stated I'd be the first person contacted upon an allocation of said vehicle. When I asked to speak with the GM after dealing with Mr. Hagen's lies, I was told he was unavailable for the next few days. I stand by my review, and have complete documentation of my interactions with this corrupt dealership and its duplicitous Sales Manager, Paul Hagen. Great experience with these folks. I finished my lease and was looking to buy something new. Amy at the front desk is as sweet as they come, always making sure I was taken care of even when I was waiting. Cooper took me on a few rides. He was really knowledgable about the trucks on the lot and a great sales rep; not pushy at all, just looking for me to be happy. A big compliment to the sales business, specifically salesperson Brad RICHMAN, who helped me buy a good quality, slightly used car at a reasonable price. Brad was courteous and thorough. He explained to my wife, my daughter and me the various features of the car and even gave my daughter a full demonstration. The car needed a while for prep (since it had been previously a loaner car at the dealership), and Brad sent me update status emails every few days. I do much of my own car repair work, so I know a little about it (enough to be stupid and dangerous!) I am a respectful, but somewhat difficult customer. Brad made the experience a good one. The salespeople I dealt with were nice, but the Sales Manager Paul Hagan was anything but. I was kind of excited to be buying a beautiful newer Prius with low mileage. I was prepared to pay cash, no financing. The salesperson told us that the posted price was pretty much the best he could do, but after a little research only 4K less than original msrp seemed a bit high for a used car. I have negotiated a little every time I have bought a car at a dealership and never been told "If you think the price is too high for used I'll sell you a new one, I don't care." He was rude and aggressively condescending. We literally stood up, walked out and went across the street to Fred Beans Nissan and had a 100% better experience, down to negotiating just a couple hundred bucks off a well priced 2017 Kia with low mileage. At Beans we were listened to and treated like serious buyers. At Thompson Mr. Hagan made us feel like we were stupid children asking for impossible things. I had an appointment for routine ToyotaCare service, state inspection, and checking a leaky tire. I chose to wait and when I checked in I was told it would be about an hour and a half. At about that time, I got a call saying everything looked ok, but trying to upsell several flushes (brake, transmission, etc.). I declined the additional service. A half-hour later, the car was still not ready when I checked and was told several excuses - they only had three technicians, some assistance may have required additional repairs, etc. but never once apologizing for their running over and ruining my schedule. So I talked with the service manager and he did apologize and said the car was ready, did I still want the wash and vacuum? I said I did and then it took an additional half hour to get the car! They missed the estimated wait time by 100%. Their customer service does not value their customer's time. read more

Our family loves Toyotas and after this weekend, we purchased our 6th Toyota. We used to deal with Peruzzi but gave Thompson a chance this time and we are more than pleased. We were lucky enough to meet Dominick Criscolo who knew the car inside and out. He gave a first rate showing of the car, was fast (but not too fast) with the paperwork and was awesome to deal with. The showroom and service department was clean and was a place you didn't mind spending a couple of hours buying a car. It was an overall great experience. Brought my car in for inspection and oil change. They tried up-sell me a transmission oil flush at 60000 miles even though there is no mention of this requirement in the maintenance service manual. My car came back after inspection and on their report there was a whole column of safety check items unchecked (supposed to be part of the service) and a recommendation that I needed to have my air filter and cabin filter changed (those items were checked as needing replacement). I asked the service representative at the counter if the technician checked the filters and he said yes. Which was interesting to me as I just changed these filters myself the week before ( real easy to do, no tools required!). The service representative manager did speak to me and apologized about the misinformation and assured me he verified with the technician that everything was checked as required. The representative said the technician always check the filter items on the form as needed without inspection for cars that haven't been in for the 60000 mile service. This is still wrong, as the forms purpose is to tell you the results of the safety inspection. Of course, the service managers verbal technician confirmation was his word. There is no way for me to verify what the service manager told me. Reading other reviews on this website it seems other people have had quality and integrity problems with Thompson, so I have good reason not to take Thompson word at face value. Granted, they have a really nice waiting room, free fresh cookies, WiFi, coffee, and free car wash and vacuum. This is really nice, but Thompson knows they will recoup these costs as your car ages and you need more than oil change, as their parts and labor costs are very high. Eventually, you will be enjoying the amenities while waiting for a "free" inspection and your service advisor comes out with the bad news about your car needing repairs to pass inspection or scares you into some unnecessary expensive preventative maintenance. If your inspection fails, your faced with a choice to pay the exorbitant dealer charges to pass the inspection, or get the repairs done with another mechanic and the return to the dealer for a re-inspection. I suspect most people will just pay the exorbitant fees to avoid this hassle. My car is getting older, and I fear getting overcharged and required to perform unnecessary service the first time my car "fails" inspection. Fearing all those free amenities I mentioned will eventually cost 1000x what they are worth when I'm required to repair an item to "pass" an inspection, I will start taking my car to my trusted local mechanic. I have bought two cars there - got a fair deal, but I did do my homework before starting the negotiation process and was prepared to walk if I didn't get the price I wanted. (Do your research on the internet, there are lot of good guides out there on how to negotiate car prices and what options not to buy.) It's a business, and they know all the behavioral hooks to get you to spend more money. For example, before you buy the car they say how great and trouble free their brand is. Then you buy the car and tell you how you need to buy the extended warranty (bad deal!) because repairs are so expensive - and site some case histories of multi-thousand dollar repairs. (This happened to me both times I bought cars at Thompson.). Extended warranties are high profit items for dealers. (My last 3 cars are all Toyota's and they are very reliable cars, by the way. But this has nothing to do with dealer!) When it comes to maintenance, I expect my mechanic to follow through on all of the required maintenance and safety inspections. My previous experience there makes me doubt their integrity and follow-thru. read more

They stated the following on the phone and stated none were negotiable. $499 for "Documentation and $1,390 for an appearance package of pinstriping and door guards for a $8-11k used cars. The $1,390 is exactly the same as the Toyota dealer. I didnt bother to stay on the phone to ask if that included DMV registration. Meanwhile I again note a PA dealer will do a 60 day temp license for $190 on an $11k car and an NJ dealer will do a NJ transfer for $65 of I trade in and a new NJ registration and plates for $120 if I dont. Service Department I scheduled my appointment online and requested all of the services for my daughter's car. Mile service plus oil change. My daughter dropped off car early and they said they would get it done early. I thought great. All they asked was if we wanted the car washed and vacuumed. They called me with all of extra things I could have done. Then they call back, the car is done. Sounds great right? They send my bill and payment option to my phone. I go to pay, so my daughter can just get the car with her brother. Here the invoice has no descriptions for service. So I call. After being on hold for 20 minutes, they tell me they do not think the oil was changed. The oil change was even in the appointment reminder sent by their system to upload to my calendar. Then they try to tell me, my daughter declined the oil change when she dropped off car. Both her and my husband said that is not true, they only asked about the car wash. Well now my daughter has plans, work and practice and no car, because all the techs went home and there is no one there to do the service I requested in the 1st place. We live too far to bring the car back another day. This is not the first time it has happened. I have even dropped a car off the evening before and the 1st thing written was INSPECTION and guess what, they did everything but and I did not realize until I got home, which is why I checked this time. If you create a service order through their system, there is NO EXCUSE for not getting the services you requested. They were more concerned about upselling me other services, than doing what the car was there for in the first place. I'm giving two stars because I have had positive experiences there, but this last visit could hav cost me and my grandson our lives! Went in for simple replacement of rear brake pads only , didn't need anything else done, rotors were fine. (All their words not mine). Drove off with new rear brakes. I started to hear on occasion, a bumping like something was loose in the back of my car thumping when I went over little bumps Well 10 days later, with my grandson in the car, I go to stop and my brake pedal goes to the floor, no resistance, and I feel like I don't have brakes! Pull over, wait for daughter to get grandson, wait for tow truck Turns out caliper FELL OFF left rear ( 10 day old brakes) Kinda feel that putting on brake pads for a mechanic is from auto repair class 101 . It's also a Safety issue! Thompson service man said really no worry, I had three other brakes! Well I don't know if that still applies since caliper dragged on road for a bit and the piston popped out and the brake fluid ran out! Bottomline?
