I have taken my dogs, Banana and Emma, to Glasgo Memorial Veterinary Hospital several times, and my experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Yes, they are transparent about pricing--but it often comes across as transactional. The focus on costs happens immediately, sometimes before there is even a proper greeting or any attention given to the animal. The exception is Dr. Glasgo, who has been kind and attentive, especially with my dog Banana. Unfortunately, that level of compassion has not been my experience with the rest of the staff or veterinarians. Over four visits with my German Shepherd, Emma, who suffers from perianal fistulas, not once did I feel genuine care or empathy toward her condition. The interactions have consistently felt rushed and impersonal. The pricing structure is also difficult to justify. Everything is billed separately--exam, labs, testing, medications--and even basic services like a nail trim are an additional $30. At these price points, it would be reasonable to expect some of these routine services to be included in the exam fee. Despite significant costs (over $700 for a visit, plus $500 in medications), there has been no effort to establish a long-term care plan or provide meaningful guidance on managing Emma's condition at home. Instead, the expectation is frequent return visits without clear direction, which feels more like a business model than patient-centered care. There is also a noticeable disconnect in customer experience. A sign in the lobby warns that rude behavior will not be tolerated, yet the tone from staff can feel cold and unapproachable--especially if you ask questions. I find it hard to reconcile my experience with the very high online ratings. It leaves me wondering if others have had similar experiences but haven't spoken up. I understand veterinary care has evolved and costs have increased over the years, but compassion, communication, and respect should not be optional--especially at this level of pricing. One day after posting this review the vet sent me a text: After reviewing your concerns in your review, it is clear that we have not been able to provide the level of service and care you are looking for in a veterinary hospital. A strong relationship between a client and their veterinary team is built on mutual trust and confidence. Based on your review, it appears that trust has been lost. For that reason, we feel it is in the best interest of both you and our team to cancel your upcoming appointment. We believe you and your pets will be better served by a veterinary practice that is a better fit for your expectations and communication style. If you would like your pets' medical records forwarded to another veterinary hospital, please let us know where you would like them sent, and we will be happy to do so promptly to help ensure continuity of care. We started taking our doggo here because of the proximity to our home, AND because they let us come in & tour the place & meet one of the docs... even during the midst of the COVID pandemic!!! They are always so helpful & patient with us, even when we call 3-4 times in one week & have to bring our baby in for an emergency visit! Plus, the doctors take SO MUCH TIME with us & answer ALL of our questions... even if we call them after the appointment with more questions!!! I know that some people have had negative encounters with these folks but, for us, the entire staff at Glasgo seem to really care about our pup & the last 3-years have proven to be a good move for all of us! Definitely recommend them!! read more

I struggled with what I was going to review for the big 250 - there were a few good contenders but I decided to praise a small but important little place to us. We picked this vet based on a handful of reviews and proximity to our home. It was named different back then and we had a great intro appointment and were able to quickly treat a worm problem she had from the shelter when we first got her. They were very good with her despite the fact that she is a total spaz. Since that first visit, we've had to utilize them a handful of times. A couple of moments worth mentioning...first, we had one morning where our dog was throwing up a small amount of blood, we gave them a call and they gave us some suggestions to try at home which worked great and we didn't have to pay for an appointment! That's some good customer service. Most importantly, my husband came home one day after work to our dog having a seizure. Needless to say, we were quite panicked. We gave them a call shortly before they were supposed to be closing that day and they were kind enough to let us bring her in right then to see her instead of having to go to some random emergency place. Not only did they make sure she was doing ok but they calmly explained the next steps for potentially caring for an epileptic dog. We felt much better and prepared when we left there. They even gave her a little toy and were very sweet to her since she was also pretty shaken by the experience. They've also helped fix her allergy skin issues and the random infected eye she had and most importantly our dog has been seizure free since starting her medication. We have had great experiences so far with Glasglow. read more

I would like to thank Dr. Jackson and the Hospital staff for helping me make the life of a feral cat SO much better! I trapped the cat to have him neutered and ear tipped, which I did at the low cost spay/neuter clinic. When I had the cat in my house during his recovery, I discovered that his fur was very matted, and must have been painful. My daughter recommended Glasgo to me, so I gave them a call. Dr. Jackson was willing to assess the situation over the phone, and very quickly got us in for a sedated grooming. Everyone was so patient, and willing to consider that the cat is feral, and make accommodations for that. Kitty is doing great, and when his fur grows back, will be released to his territory in much better shape! Thank you! read more

I had been going to this vet for over 20 years but since the main vet retired I have had problems with the staff. The front office staff is unacceptable. They complain about their customers and do not want to provide good customer service. They also make notes in the anima's chart about the owners if they do like them. The rule that the customer is always right is not practiced there. They don't allow you to see how they treat your dog. it is always done in another room. Their prices are a lot higher than other vets that I have been to. read more

We love the staff and we don't wait long. However our poor little guy has always had a return visit after seeing Dr. Glasgo. He always seems to be more sick after. While I appreciate it's difficult to diagnose animals a little appreciation would be nice. I also understand it's a busy place. Awesome but the second and third opinions I got for my little guy basically told me that she neglected my baby boy. If this were a human child we were talking about she would be cutting me a large check. Please be careful with your fur babies. read more

Really took the time to speak to me about my pups needs etc. very personal experience only recommendation would be to expand the waiting area width wise-can be a lot of dogs and owners waiting at once and with a deep waiting area, I sometimes get nervous bc you never know if the dog your passing is a reactive dog or not. read more

My mother has taken her 18 year old cat there for at least the last 10 years. On the early morning of Thursday June 18th she told me that her cat needed to be put down. Pearle as been going downhill the past few months. I call this office at about 9 am. I explained my mother had been a customer for a long time. And that her cat had deteriorated quite a bit over night and should be put down. The lady put me on hold and come back and said they could not see us today. I asked her to speak with my mother. Mom got on the phone and asked to be seen as soon as possible. And was told it could not happen. After calming my mother down I starting calling other vet clinics. We found a place not too far from home. Drove there and they immediately helped us. My mom held Pearle in her arms while the helped her pass on. All of this care and kindness that this particular clinic would not offer! I am sure if someone had to wait an additional 10 minutes due to this emergency they would have understood. Do yourself and your pets a favor and find somewhere else. This lack of service and empathy shown my mother is completely unnecessary. If possible I would have given this clinic a negative star rating! read more

The doctors did an unnecessary surgery on my puppy. My dog was sick and they thought he ate something that was stuck in his stomach. When they opened him up nothing. The X-ray they took showed a large mass and it ended up being his spleen that was enlarged prob from infection. I do not feel confident talking my animals here. Staff is very nice and place is clean, maybe will be better when they get more experience. read more
