Ken from Glass 23 really saved my project.. After a bathroom remodel with full backsplash, we discovered that original shower doors no longer fit the new opening. Not only that, but the wall isn't perfectly level from top to bottom on the right. I called around looking for a company that can get me one side of a glass door. Most places (a) never return my phone call after they promised they would, or (b) gave me the run around by asking me to generate a diagram (!) before they would sell me one. Ken was the only one who was willing to work with me to get me what I needed. He asked me what my hinges look like so the glass door will be ready for install with the same hinges. Also asked me to measure the distance between the shower panel and the wall (wall wasn't plumb so it was different width). He then created me a diagram with the design to order me a replacement door with the information provided. There was no way I could've drew up a design like that those other places just wanted to get rid of me I guess. The custom shower door that came was even larger at top than at bottom just like my opening just how I measured it! Lastly, Ken was easy to get in contact with and extremely responsive. His turnaround time was 5 days which allowed me to proceed with my finishing my project. The door fit perfectly and impossible to tell that the opening isn't plumb. Trust me when I say I called everyone and some of the places wanted to charge many times more to procure a "custom" panel that Ken was able to procure for less. Recommend calling Glass 23 before you bother with other places. Most of those places do not want your business unless it's a full replacement and installation. I think Glass 23's full installation is also considerably less as well. Highly recommend Glass 23 and I would hire Ken if I ever need to replace a new custom shower doors. read more

Excellent work installing my steam shower. Another installer refused to do my neo angle shower after coming out to see it. 1 improvement he should make is to keep the customer informed. I didn't hear from him for 4 days about the status of the glass after paying the deposit which had me concerned. Fixtures ended up being delayed by a wk but that wasn't his fault. There was a very small scratch I saw after the installers left but tbh I can't see it unless I open the blinds and the sun is reflecting into the bathroom. To preface: I don't like writing 1 star reviews, but after this entire experience (spanning over 2.5 months...) I felt I needed to share. Yelp word count is 5,000 characters..my initial draft was over 15,000, so this is the short version. I was looking to get 3 mirrors replaced (warped mirrors), and to change my shower door into a slider. Ken, owner of Glass23, provided the fastest response and had his employee come out and take measurements. After some back and forth with a few companies, I decided to go with Glass23 based on reviews and cost. This took a nosedive from here. My initial appointment was changed 3 times. Day of, he had forgotten a tool, so the initial ETA was 1.5 hours later. Initially, the job seemed ok, but after some time, I noticed each item had issues: -1st mirror: extra half inch sticking out..not sure if it was due to placement or poor measurement to start -2nd mirror: noticed warping on the new mirror...(super odd, since I was guaranteed there was no chance the new mirrors were going to get warped) -3rd mirror: huge gap behind the mirror, and not enough adhesive -shower slider: only tested a few days later due to adhesive, but the glass door nearly fell off when I used it the first time Communication after the initial install was not good. First half of invoice was paid from start, and he requested the second half to be paid, even with all these issues still outstanding. I ultimately paid it in the hopes that I was going to have all my issues resolved. A lot of back and forth to get the warped mirror replaced by the supplier. 2nd visit: similar issues with timing, and reasons why he was going to be late. He brought the new mirror, but was unable to pry off the "bad" mirror he had installed on. He was concerned that it would break everywhere and used some wood stakes to try to ease the tension...response was to check back in in a few weeks. The shower door issue was that the screws at the top were not tightened. He assumed the manufacturer would have tightened it but didn't check it upon install.. Post 2nd visit comms: After finally using the shower slider, the slider was now leaking a ton of water. Had a lot of towels that I had to keep switching out. 3rd visit: again, same issue. Texted an ETA, but forgot an item so was pushed back. Ended up pulling off the mirror since the wood stakes did nothing (so we wasted 10 days in the hopes that it would come off). Added extra sealant for the shower in the hopes that it would stop leaking. Post 3rd visit: shower slider STILL leaking. Master bedroom mirror gap was so noticeable. Not enough adhesive since I could nearly pull the bottom corner compeltely off. Through texts, he simply mentioned additional adhesive was needed. 4th visit: luckily arrived at the end of the hour window he gave. Adding adhesive to mirror did nothing. Added more sealant to shower and made it look pretty noticeable, and ugly, in the hopes it would stop leaking. Post 4th visit: shower slider still leaking. After some thinking...since the mirror wasn't flushed to the wall, there was still going to be a big gap, so I had requested to get a new mirror (and I noticed there was damage already to the mirror, likely from the wall). I was going to have a handyman come in and fix the wall. After a bit of back and forth, I was given 2 options: partial refund or full refund and he comes to take everything out of my home. I was 100% considering a full refund, but I did not want to schedule another visit...and have no mirrors and no glass for my shower for 4-5 weeks+ as I search for a new company. Ultimately, going for a partial refund to end the business arrangement. What makes me livid, is the fact that he did not admit any fault for a botched job. Multiple times through our texts, the response was: "he was sorry he wasn't able to make things the way I had hoped." I had hoped for a simple mirror replacement and a non-leaky shower without all the issues. This entire process took 2.5 months, which is absolutely ridiculous. I am glad it is finally over. Now, I just have to deal with seeing the issues every day, and ultimately, needing to fix everything when the mirror breaks or when the shower slider leaks a ridiculous amount. Going back, the ideal situation would have been: before blindly installing, I would have liked him to check the wall, and let me know that wall had an issue. I would proceed or wait on install to get it fixed, but give me that choice. For the shower slider, I dont know what went wrong, but my initial shower door had no leaking issues. Even if I was given a full refund and everything stayed at my place, I still wouldn't have been made whole. The amount of time I blocked out for each visit, the number of texts back and forth, and the constant reminder that the mirrors and shower slider was a failed job will continue to bother me until I get it swapped out anyways. read more

I only needed a basic repair because my shower door came off its track. It was installed 8 years ago, and I don't remember which company installed it. I wanted it done right, since it is bad when heavy glass doors crash! So, I contacted Glass 23. They sent Gabriel in less than 24 hrs. He fixed the door quickly. We decided to go with Glass23 based on Yelp reviews and so I feel obligated to give my own review. Ken is a very friendly owner business. He seems to go above and beyond to make his customers happy, but unfortunately, we've been left with a leaky frameless glass shower door. The day of installation, on both sides of the door, there was no stripping to keep water from pouring out onto our new tiled floor. A razor knife was used to cut plastic pieces on top of our newly installed shower pan, which scratched it. Ken came back several times to try and fix the issues, by resealing, adding rubber to the door, covering the scratch with a door stop, but he wasn't able to figure out the leakage. Each time my husband or I had to take off work to allow him to try and fix the problem. He ended up blaming the shower walls and pan material and said he was used to only working on, "high end materials." Ultimately, he gave up and zeroed out what we owed, but we're still stuck with the problem. We're now having to pay another company to investigate and correct the issues. Again, he's a super nice guy, but nice isn't going to fix our problem. read more

I recently had a horrible experience with Kent's job for my steam shower door. He claimed that he was an expert at steam shower glass door. It turned out that he does not even know the basic requirement of a steam shower which needs to be sealed completely. He left my shower door, the hinge side unsealed, the overhead glass installed unlined with the door, which left the whole shower glass unit impossible to be sealed 100% to meet the steam shower generator unit required. The hinges look badly done, the bathroom left with all debris, a very sloppy job. I would not recommend anyone else for his work. If you do want to use him, be very careful about the details. His initial price does not include the obvious basics. Do not trust anything he said. But make sure all details in written. He completely betrayed my trust, as a so called "expert on steam shower door" for over 20 years professional experience. In my opinion he is not even qualified for any glass shower door! A good job would not have left the frameless glass shower door hinge side unsealed. I was tricked by his existing 20 5-start ratings, which I now have strong doubt in their reality. I hope no one else will have similar experience as what I had. He will focus on how to get his final payment, instead of addressing any issue caused by his work.
