We contacted J's Custom Glass to repair a shattered window in our apartment. They were very responsive, responding to our initial request on late Friday afternoon giving us a very reasonable price. They were quick to schedule a visit to measure our window on Monday, visited us on Tuesday where we paid our deposit, and was ready for installation by Wednesday. However, due to a miscommunication by our apartment complex, we ended up having to cancel our service with J's. Their Office Manager, Heather, was very communicative and understanding. We accepted that our deposit was nonrefundable, but Heather was super accommodating and made sure our money didn't go to waste. These guys are amazing! I can see why they have so many 5-star reviews. I had 4 windows and 1 frameless mirror replaced. The windows had become foggy and I couldn't see through them. I called around and got a few quotes and these guys gave a great one, very quickly. It was very fair. They were able to come out and measure that same week, as soon as I was able to have them out. They were friendly and helpful. I ordered the glass, placed a small deposit, and it came in in about a week. They came out to install the day after they received my glass. Their communication was fantastic the whole way through. On installation day I already had a window of time to expect them but they still called and gave an exact time of arrival. We added insulation and the problem persisted, so we thought the windows must be the problem. We also experienced moisture coming in from the sliding glass door. I found J's Custom Glass on Yelp, and I am glad to say that their high ratings are well-deserved. I worked with Jorge for proving the shower glass for our two bathroom remodels. I needed someone experienced with low-iron clear glass, 0.5" thick with Showerguard coating. Since this configuration is pricey and meant to last, I wanted someone local with a showroom that I can inspect materials, and experienced. The initial visit was informative to determine what was feasible and order all materials. On the day of installation, Jorge was able to perform a bunch of drainage and level tests to make sure no problems would occurred later on. He was able to pinpoint an important slope gradient issue which allowed us to fix a drainage issue before we finalized the bathroom contract, saving us thousands of dollars if we discovered the problem later. I needed two windows replaced for the first window. I went with a Gen Contractor who said he knew what he was doing, but it was pretty obvious halfway through that he didn't. So for the second window, I hired these guys. It was pretty clear from the get-go that they were much more experienced, they seem to be doing it very methodically, checking and inspecting materials and the rough opening, and doing at least 10 to 15 checks and work steps that the Gen Contractor never did. Additionally, they communicated at key points and talk to me about how they were going to do the next steps of the work, especially to prevent water intrusion. If you are putting windows in your house, hire these professionals, windows are a big failure point on a house and it's not worth the risk of using handymen or general contractors who take shortcuts you never see or are able or are able to catch in time. read more
