Very classic, full bodied roast, with sweet notes of spice. A woman complained about her drink while I was ordering mine and they very graciously gave her something else without any awkwardness at all. My drink was perfect and wonderful. The indoor seating is limited and all taken on the very chilly morning of my visit, so we walked around the neighborhood which is funky and fun, at least for Eugene. Went in on a Sunday to do some studying and find a new coffee shop. The latte and the blueberry scone were both really yummy. Only issue is that there isn't much seating but it worked out, the barista was really helpful and found me a seat at the Tacovore next door which is owned by the same person. Little loud for studying but still a cool spot. read more

This is in the glassed room beside Tacovore. It was worth a try. Limited seating, very echo-y. I'm glad I didn't mind my conversation being a good overheard. My looseleaf tea wasn't divine, nor was my companion's coffee. Bit overpriced. I wouldn't choose to go back but I'd go if a friend wanted to. read more

Definitely not the best latte around, but its close to the house and will do when I'm too lazy to drive to my favorite spot. The staff are always welcoming and super nice. The ambiance is great and pretty relaxing, kinda makes me want to take a nap. The space is small, so its great when not crowded, but as people start to hang out it gets a little much. I've been a regular customer now, for well over a year, and I still love my Americano with an extra shot! The building itself is great, as well! It fills with light, so beautifully in the morning... We've been to this coffee house 2 times before the name change, also back when they offered their delicious Maple Bacon Latte. The man working the counter, whom we believed to be the owner explained to us the process in which they created their own house made syrups, for specific lattes to one's liking. Overall we were impressed by the uniqueness of varieties such as Maple Bacon and Salted Maple Bourbon. We were also pleased with the friendly and informative customer service to boot! Taking all of those objectives into account, we always kept the idea of visiting again a sure thing had we found ourselves in the Whiteaker neighborhood. Sadly, this third time around (July 24, 2016 at 3:30pm) was a huge disappointment. They must have lowered their standards since the last time we stopped in and hired rookie baristas as replacements. The woman behind the counter (long dark hair, mid-twenties) acted aloof and was not very friendly. The service received wasn't your standard coffee house hipster vibe, which many coffee places give off naturally (I know, I've been in the coffee game a while), this was more of a "why are you even here?" type of vibe. It wasn't just me that felt this emanating from the barista, I was told by my partner he felt the exact same as we both got back in our car. To top it off, my drink wasn't even made correctly. How hard is an Iced Vanilla Latte? I was unable to detect any vanilla flavor in my drink, let alone espresso. Talk about leaving with a bad taste in your mouth, both literally and figuratively! The barista condescendingly added "more" vanilla to my drink after I complained about its lack thereof. At $4.25/12oz, it's fair to say I was taken back by such unprofessional service. Now, the way I see it, paying customers should never be treated this way if you expect to run a viable business, catering to the public. Maybe the lady was having a bad day, but that's not enough reason to slack on the job, serve poorly made coffee and make people supporting your shop feel unwelcome. No one deserves that kind of disrespectful behavior, not even the coffee. I absolutely hope problematic employees such as this get trained better for the sake of: 1) Customers, that are satisfied and will continue to spend money at your establishment 2) Getting, keeping and maintaining a stable business 3) Employees themselves, if they want to make decent tips and still have an existing job. Everyone CAN win. Rating used to be a 3 out of 5. Had high hopes for this place but until they correct some of these problems, i will not be back. Taking everything into account, a star was knocked off leaving the final rating of this coffee bar a 2 out of 5 for me. read more

So, I have avoided "coffee houses" and businesses of the like because I wasn't about to pay more for the same coffee I could get at Dutch Bros or Starbucks. Dang I was wrong! I had a fabulous conversation with the (manager?) lady on Saturday about how to make simple syrups. I am from Northeast Oregon and we were in Eugene to see String Cheese Incident. I am SO incredibly happy that we decided to stop by. I am addicted now, and your little chat made me feel a lot more comfortable with going to a coffee shop. Honestly, I think they might be under charging. My drink was heavenly. I will always remember you for being the place that introduced me to "real" coffee drinks. I am home now and I miss you already! I can never drink chai at most places, because it's so incredibly sweet. But not here! They make their own blend of "spicy chai" that is to die for. They also have a "sweet chai", for those who like their chai sweeter. Or, you can go with a 50/50 mix. Their other teas are delicious too. They carry pastries from Noisette, a local bakery, which are very good. My only complaint is that I wish they carried more stuff from Noisette, especially some of their more savory options. read more

The coffee is equal to other places in town, red barn and equiano coffee located down the street have a better house blend. They are located in a convenient location and are open early. Unfortunately there counter help have an air of superiority, maybe its the vibe they are looking to put out there: I found it distasteful and rude. I had already ceased going to this shop because of a negative experience with one of the counter people, I gave it another go out of convenience and to mention the last experience. I was confronted with the same kind of poor customer service as my last attempt to purchase coffee, she the manager was not interested in having an honest and open conversation about my negative experience. Then preceded to laugh with other customers in their small shop about me before I was even in my car. There are more then one culture here in Eugene, lets try and work together so that we can continue our struggle to be excepting of all types of people. read more
