I had constant issues with black mold and water damage, rats, and worst of all, a piece of my ceiling caved in during a rainstorm -- a massive 30-pound chunk of plaster that would have killed me or caused severe brain damage if I'd been standing underneath it -- due to the building's disrepair. STAR openly admitted that they were just going to replace the ceiling tile to cover the hole and wouldn't do any repairs. This will threaten another tenant's life and safety.

My biggest issue with HomeWorks is their lack of professionalism. It seems like they use a third-party receptionist, so you have to schedule a call with your actual property manager. The property managers constantly miss the scheduled calls, and getting information that should only take a few minutes can take days. To date, I have had eight missed meetings with Christine and Zaphyr. To make matters worse, the portal is never up to date, so you have to call to know what is going on with your property. It has been a complete nightmare working with this company. Save yourself the headache and find a different property manager.

The registration, check-in, and monthly payments were all automated and easy to use and navigate. The space was cosy but roomy enough for two of us, and the place was fully furnished with an outfitted kitchen so we could easily cook any meal if we wanted to. I recommend Mt Vernon Flats for anyone needing a furnished place for a week or months.
