Such a neat park & pretty big and filled with lots of activities for everyone even the dogs have their own area to play. Their sand area is really neat with a huge whale right in the middle, love the ocean theme and extra little area that's filled with sand that the littles can play while being supervised. There is a swings area with a good amount of them so you don't have to wait for a turn and appreciated that. There are some swings that look like a chair really wish they had a strap for the little ones cause if you were to swing fast they can go forward and really get hurt so this one need to be supervised. The play structure has slides and tunnels and different musical items you can be creative like the drums, rain stick and even a flip the musical note and make a sound very neat. There are many open areas that you have to be careful if you have little ones but still fun. There is a huge area if you wanted to bring scooters or kids cars that they can ride around in a big circle. Love that they have bathrooms and a changing table they are a bit on the smelly side but in an emergency they are good. Very well kept and clean. Love that's it's gated that way littles don't go running off but over all this park is great for all age groups can't wait to be back. read more

Cute mid-sized park in Marina Del Rey with ample street parking. The park has 3 areas: outside the main gate there is a workout area with several workout equipment and water fountains, larger area inside the gate is the playground with a cute climbing wall/several slides/swings/large sandbox with a HUGE whale! Wonderful Park. So much to offer the children. It's perfect in every way except the entrance gate is now broken and won't close completely. This needs to be fixed! Knowing that the entire playground area is fenced in is a real safety feature for parents and grandparents. read more

Went here for a cloud convention! It was clean, gated, and had artificial turf! Would definitely come here again if I'm in the area. There are public restrooms on site and plenty of parking by the entrance and side streets. There are lots of cute gophers around the park so be careful not to trip or step on them! read more

Local Park. There's two tennis courts and three pickleball courts. There's a two dog parks, one playground and one full length basketball court. Parking is relatively easy to park at night around 7pm and beyond. This park has also a small enough to do mini laps for pokemon Go. I haven't been here in the day time so ill check it out next time. read more

Man, I love the City of Marina Del Rey. They remind me so much of our Newport Beach in Orange County. They have the best parks in all of the Westside. Too bad we never came to this park growing up in Los Angeles. I took my girl here once, and we had a blast. We went roller blading, jogging, and a good workout park. I mean, you can still bring your kids and families here to hang out at the park. But I see most people walking their pets, and exercising;. Seem more like a workout park. read more

No. Too many dogs here and too many irresponsible owners. I got bit by one and told the owner and he said "Oh" and that was it. Some people are nice and their dogs are lovely but there are always few irresponsible dog owners that kill it for others. Also, many bring their dogs who are not up to date with shots or fixed and then asks my dog to leave them alone. Um... dogs can smell that.... Some dog owners should not own a dog. read more

This park is filled with irresponsible nannies on their phones. This park is also filled with regular people who are not watching their dogs but are on their phone. Beautiful park. It's a shame that people think it's a place to come let your dog loose and pay no attention. It's disappointing that people who are paid to take dogs to the park are actually just on their phones. I don't recommend this park. It's not worth it due to the negligent people. If you do go be careful because not all dogs are friendly. There is also alot of responsible folks at the this park. Dog park is open - good amount of people in big dog area which is nice and covered in grass with benches to sit on. A lot of people were wearing a mask and socially distanced for the most part. The picture of the needle is very misleading. I go to this park almost daily to play paddle tennis. It is customary to use a needle like that to pop the tennis balls before playing so there is more squish in the ball for use with the paddles. The needles are very tiny and easy to lose track of. I assure you any needle found at this park is likely one that has been left behind from a paddle tennis player and is not a needle used for drugs. The park is quite clean and does not attract a sketchy crowd. One improvement that I can recommend is many of the overhead lights are out on the paddle tennis courts and the bulbs can use replacing. read more

This review is mainly for the dog park. Parking can be a hassle on weekday evenings but overall, the small dog park is clean with ample shade and a great community of dog owners that my puppy plays with regularly. He has, unfortunately, encountered an aggressive dog where the owner did nothing until the other dog owners called him out for his dog being aggressive. There are also some other people that sometimes get upset when my dog runs up to theirs trying to play (?? It's a dog park, not sure what they especially) but overall I love this park and I'm so glad to have it near my house and I've met such a welcoming community of dog lovers there. read more

The playground is awesome and the dog park is nice. But the entire field is made up of gopher holes. Every time I'm there I see people trip and fall and skin their knees or roll their ankles while just playing catch or chasing their dog or just walking across the field. I'm all for letting the gophers exist but there's a hole like every other foot. It's like the Swiss cheese of parks. Just checked out the new kids play area at GA. This place is AWESOME!!! EFFING AWESOME! We had driven by a couple times and noticed the new digs. I decided to take the baby here. The kids play area is fenced off so the dogs don't come in to poo. Lots of signs to indicate NO DOGS in the play area. There is so much stuff in here to keep the kiddies occupied. Swings, jungle gyms, rockers and a bunch of other stuff that I can't even describe. You'll just have to check it out yourself. Or see the pics. :) Oh, and the floors are rubber! Sweet jeebus! Lots of parents and nannies abound and the feeling is really safe. I was mildly concerned bringing baby here since she can't walk yet, but, no worries! Obviously there weren't any newborns, but, definitely some older babies and toddlers running around. If your kid is old enough to sit up on their own, bring 'em! This place is definitely my new go to spot when I take baby for a walk. Love it! read more

This is a really great park! I LOVE that the playground is fenced in - definitely helps me worry a little less and not have to run around chasing my 2 year old as much. There are great play structures, a pirate ship, climbing wall, swings, sand. While I do like this park, I don't like that people who have large (and potentially aggressive German Shepard & Pit Bull) dogs don't keep them on a leash. There are no fences so all dogs, small and large play in the same space. When it's only medium to small dogs it's really great however, when the big ones are around be careful. If you have a small pooch, it just may end up getting chased and mauled by a person who claims "my dog likes little dogs..." Sure they do, they like 'em for dinner. read more

We really do love this park. It is very large with a lot of fun things for the kids to do. As a mother I also appreciate that the park is completely fenced in! We really enjoy the large sandpit here. There are also swings, a multitude of slides, climbing rocks, and a rocking boat. There are restrooms located within steps of the park. There is a large grassy field around the park but a lot of people use this for their dogs to run and play. This park has always been very clean and street parking is relatively easy. This review is for the dog park. I used to go to the playa vista dog parks but this place has become my new regular. The rest of the park is nice and grassy too but I don't have kids so I cannot review the playground. There is a small and large dog park here. The small dog park is very well shaded and gorgeous though I've never been in. The larger park is right next to the tennis courts which I think is genius. It's super long and skinny. One half of the park is that fake grass with a water fountain in the middle. It's always very clean and this side is always busy. There are a few benches around the park. My one criticism is that they could use more benches. My dog always has a great time and there is a great crowd that comes here. The other half of the large dog park is natural landscaping. It's worn out grass and trees. I don't go to this side a lot of but it's a little less used and I see people use this side to play catch with their pups away from all the bustle of the fake grass side. I love that there is an option for busyness and landscape for our dog. There's plenty of tennis balls around to throw and doggie stations which I've never used cause in being my own bags. As far as the rest of the park, it's nice and grassy with a few trees. The bathrooms are apart from the bustle of the kids park and pretty clean for a park. There are sometimes tents on the side selling Mexican drinks and food which is always nice. One stand has all the different fruit drinks in large containers to choose from. Another has salsas. And then there is one with produce as well which is super convenient. It would be awesome to see the number of tents grow as our community becomes safer and less social distanced. It's like having a farmers market, park and dog park in one convenient location! read more

They had strewn their belongings all over the actual play structure. I'm not sure how often the playground is sanitized and cleaned, but i no longer feel safe bringing my toddler here, especially during COVID times. My nanny kids love it here. The vast majority of other adults are pretty chill considering the area. I of course have met a few jerks, but for the most part people are friendly and attentive to their kids and dogs at the dog park portion. There is a lot for the kids to do; and caring for two toddlers I love that it is fenced it...they play together well half the time, the other half of the time they are running in two different directions! I'm reviewer number four, yay for park reviews! I have just a couple things to add, in addition to the 11 photos I took yesterday: You have to like dogs to come here, haha. They were running around all over. The good news is that all the doggies got along well. I noticed an unused section of the park under the trees, by some picnic tables (between the tennis court and the paddle tennis courts). Why couldn't that be fenced in for use as a dog park? There is a obviously a community need, judging from all the dogs I saw off leash. In fact, Alla Park has plenty of room to provide enclosed space for critters. It would be nice to provide enclosed space for ladies in the restroom too! Haha, the two stalls had no doors. Kinda creepy. read more

I love the dog park here. Usually there are plenty of dogs, and for the most part they are good humored! The large dog area is composed of half dirt and half turf (fake grass). I much prefer the turf and dirt combo than dog parks with strictly dirt or wood chips -- you don't have to immediately wash your dog once you get home. Plus I get a much needed break from having to play tug or entertain my pooch for the rest of the day, because socializing and playing wipes him out! I would have given 5 stars, but there seems to be constant construction going on; either half of the large dog section or the whole large dog section is closed off, and it is rare to find the water fountains working. However, I appreciate that they are doing construction to make the park nicer for our pups, even though the process has been going on for a long time! read more

GREAT COMMUNITY PARK THAT IS IN NEED OF HELP Great Park, have been coming here 40 years. Recently a lot of homeless have been coming in and taking over. They generally stick to the outskirts. There is a full outdoor basketball court, several tennis courts, a paddle tennis court and a nice playground for kids with a lot of stuff to climb on. We have had many parties here and the park is relatively safe if you remain in the central kid area, however..... CAUTION: you do need to watch your kids around the restroom area. The homeless tend to be inappropriate around there, use drugs inside, shower etc. Drugs are a problem here and on many occasions I have found crack pipes, hypodermic needles etc outside of the play area in the outskirts of the park. At night time it is a very dark/ sketchy park. read more

Great find. I heard about this park from some friends in Playa Vista. Dogs are friendly and off-leash (shhhhh...I don't think it's legal). There are no gates so dogs must be under good voice control and not bolters. Sometimes I'll park by the Peet's, get my coffee, and walk with my dog to this park. Love this park the playground is gated and safe for the little ones who like to runaway! It's clean and well kept. They have a sand box, big rock to climb, swings comfortable & safe for babies and they're also great for special needs kids. There's a rocking ride with wheel chair access. The floor is soft, many benches and tables to eat. It's a great park for all ages and kids with special needs! Definitely recommend! read more

My daughter found a used needle under a park bench. I found two workers with "City of Los Angeles Pacific Regional Maintenance" t-shirts and asked if they worked with the park. They told me "yes." I told them where the needle was and they made no effort to get rid of it and eventually left the park. It's sad that such a nice park feels unsafe and that city workers made no effort to take care of the space. read more

This is my new favorite dog park. I have only met friendly people and dogs in the 4 times that I have been so far. In the big dog park it is all fenced in and is half grass and half astro turf. It features a large area for the dogs to run and play. There is a water fountain right in the middle at both entrances to the park. Benches all around the perimeter but not much shade over them. The little dog park only gets 3 stars because a large portion of it is cobblestone. Not ideal for dogs to run on. Near the rear there is grass and the whole area has lots of shade read more

I live right by this park and often run around it in the mornings. Recently, many homeless people have been camping out at the fences surrounding the park. They have always left me alone when I am running around there. I often go to the park early enough in the morning where the bathrooms have not been cleaned yet, are a mess, and smell of cigarettes. When I have gone later in the afternoon, they are always much better. (Assumption: bathrooms are cleaned daily around 6/7am). I do not have any kids, but I often see kids playing on the playground and it looks like they're having a blast! The only true problem that I have is the people that have their dogs off leash that are not under good voice command. I have a dog that can be very aggressive with other dogs, and it can be hard to see dogs approaching us, as this park is on a hill. If your dog is not under voice command, please do not have them off leash at this park. read more
