The LA traffic is enough to make me want to poke my eyeballs out. This is a great spot to walk before the dreaded LAX or before returning your rental car. Elephant seals. Lots of walkability. Boats. Yachts. Best Trader Joe's you've ever seen. Right on the water with great staff. I have no idea if I was parked in a good, authorized spot. I wasn't there very long... but I loved it here. The air smells of smog and money. Big money.

Burton Chace Park is truly one of the most beautiful neighborhood gems in the marina. The park is incredibly well maintained, with lush green grass, clean walking paths, and stunning views of the boats and water in every direction. Being surrounded by the marina makes it feel peaceful and scenic, yet it is still lively and welcoming. It is a perfect spot for families, friends, and anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors. My dog absolutely loves coming here, and if you are lucky, you might even spot seals swimming or lounging nearby, which always feels like such a treat. There is plenty of space to picnic, relax, or just sit and take in the view. The park also hosts fun community events during the summer, and the holiday decor is especially gorgeous and festive. You can tell a lot of care goes into keeping this park beautiful year round. Whether you live nearby or are visiting the area, Burton Chace Park is a must stop for enjoying the best of the marina.

We came here for their New Year's Eve event and it was great family fun. There are many parking lots close to the event and since we wanted to get there early and go eat at a nearby restaurant first we ended up with up close parking. As the night goes on the lots get full and the further back you will need to park. The event was really nice with a few local food trucks and vendors. There was plenty of activities for the kids such as arts and crafts and face paintings. They had tons of cute decorations and light displays for you to take pictures with. They even had a stage with a DJ and local performances. The best part is they have two huge firework displays. One at 9 PM for the East Coast countdown and one at Midnight for the West Coast countdown. We decided to leave after the 9 PM so we could get home and watch the West Coast one from the comfort of our home. Well it seemed like everyone else had the same idea because it was a madhouse to get out. I understand traffic and everyone wanting to leave but some people are just rude. Cutting people off or not following the flow of traffic, it just makes it more congested and a long wait time to get out. It probably took us almost an hour to get out and we were close to the exit. They really put a lot of thought into this event and the best part is that it's all free. Despite the long waits to get out we would probably come here again.

A beautiful mid-sized park overlooking the marina bay in the corner. Ambiance is relaxing and the noises of seals make this place an entertaining spot to have a nice stroll through. Parking lots nearby has meters that you need to purchase-- one lot is 90 minutes max for parking. Lots of dogs leashed and walking, fresh grass well-taken care of, and an overall perfect park to go to if you want to escape the heat!! It's also not too far off from the freeway exit-- making this a perfect park to enter in and out from. I recommend bringing blankets, sweaters and chairs in case it gets cold from the breeze.

July & August 2024 | Marina del Rey: Burton Chase is a wonderful park with beautiful scenery, plenty of picnic tables & and all around pleasant atmosphere! Holiday Spirit: Around Christmas time, Burton Chase Park is decorated in such a beautiful way, all lit up as well, so festive! It's fun to walk throughout the park and enjoy the scenery/displays! It will totally get you into the holiday spirit! Picnic Time: There are plenty of tables around the park, as well as clean restrooms! Recently, I booked Soulistic Food/International Vegan Soul Food/Chef Dahm to cook at my home and to meet up at Burton Chase Park! A few close friends and I surprised my Dad, who was visiting from the Midwest with an amazing dinner picnic! Fun times & the atmosphere was beautiful, as well as everyone enjoying the scenery, including the stunning sunset! Watching the boats/yachts, the seals... Perfect location! To our surprise, there happened to be a boat parade, the same night, which made the evening even more amazing and special!! Music to My Ears: After seeing a Yelp post via Yelp Friend Barry about the Burton Chase summer concert series, I added the upcoming Goapele concert to my planner! Thanks, Barry!! After sightseeing with my dad all day, he wanted to rest up, so I went to the concert by myself! I had an absolute blast! The concert was amazing, plenty of concert screens around the park, great vibes, and great crowd! I enjoyed the concert immensely!! Overall: I love this park! I also have incredible memories at Burton Chase Park! I highly recommend checking out the Summer Concert Series, taking a relaxing walk throughout the park, Christmas scenery at the park, as well as having a wonderful picnic!

I love this place. Its so quiet, nice and serene. Just amazing little gem in MDR. They have free events all the time and fastest or best way to know about them is through facebook. I go here with my family just for a little walk around. The sunsets are just wow. Its a nice place to take pictures too. Parking is pay and park but its worth it. I also love the sea lions that come and dock near the area. Its always fun to see wild life. Its perfect for those who wana just walk around but not too up hill or downhill. Great place for kids to play around. Also can bbq here so pretty cool.

Super kid friendly park but also perfect for a romantic evening picnic. You can also catch the sunset and see sea lions sunbathing in the docks (forewarning: they smell). The park hosts movie nights during the summer and is right down the street from Trader Joe's.

This is one of my favorite spots in LA! During the summer, you can bring your food and picnic on the tables or on a grass. They have a lot of events throughout the year. I just went to see the Holiday boat parade. Come early if you want parking. If not, park in the pavillon /cvs parking lot and walk to the park. 10,15mm walk but headache free.

The beautiful 10-acre Burton W. Chace Park is a stunning destination in the Marina, jutting out into the main channel, which offers one of the best viewing areas of the harbor with water views on three sides. Hit the flat paved walking path along the perimeter a leisure walk, and relax on a bench to watch the sunset. All outside tables are first come, first served. Covered picnic pavilions and a smattering of uncovered tables, all with barbecue access, make for a great gathering place, though not in use since the pandemic.

The park was fantastic, pristine and spacious with a top tier playground. Felix's parents claimed a prime seating area right outside the playground, where we could eat and socialize while keeping an eye on our various kids. The set-up felt very safe and easy. I admit to losing track of my five-year-old for long stretches at a time, and once finding him in a piece of playground equipment with a group of children he didn't know, giggling as two of their dads spun them around and around. My two-year-old spent a lot of time in the sand with several toddler friends, pouring sand into a play table and also all up in their clothes. We brought our elderly basset hound Duke in a mobility stroller, and he got lots of attention, too. It was a nice outing for our whole family. I also couldn't help but notice that the park was right next to the Santa Monica Airport and other airplane-themed entertainment. If the swings were considered unsafe, why were they removed instead of repaired or replaced with new ones? At the same time, there are still loose or missing bolts on some play features and open gaps on the elevated structures where a child could potentially fall. If safety is truly the priority, why were those issues left unaddressed? Now the playground offers much less for young children. Kids can't spend the whole time using only the slides.
