Great food - extremely slow service. Nice and clean though. Friendly waiters and waitresses.

On our way through Angola on a trip across the country, I'm so glad we had a chance to stop at…read moreMama's for breakfast. The portions are generous, the prices reasonable, the servers welcoming and friendly, and the place itself is warm and inviting. It's just the sort of place that scratches that "home cooking" itch, without you having to do the dishes afterwards. The biscuits and gravy alone are worth the trip - even a half-order is plenty to satisfy the craving for a big fluffy biscuit covered in rich sausage gravy. Seriously, I could eat that stuff with a spoon, it's so good. My wife and I both got one of their casserole skillets, and we had leftovers for further down the road. For a meal that feels like you're home in Angola, take yourself to Mama's and tuck in. It's worth it.

If you've not been, they are in the old Auntie V's next to Walgreens. Love love love!!! Friday - 12:30p - what are the chances we beat the rush or they're slammed? Got right in! Instead of ordering my usual Old Mother Hubbard, I took a chance on the BPT. I'm glad that I did. This is by far the best BPT I think I've ever had. Hand pounded thick, fresh, juicy & tender. Perfect amount of seasonings! I opted for their sweet cole slaw to dress the old BPT with. When you grow up penguin point - you KNOW. 10/10 Next one will be with cheese and ketchup. Servers were top notch. Food came fast despite 8 or so full tables.

I saw this restaurant from the main street while we were heading to downtown Angola. When we got to…read morethe downtown, there wasn't really anything we wanted to do or see. But, we were hungry. We looked for nearby restaurants (my sister used Google, I think, and I used Yelp), and we both decided that this looked good. I was kind of excited, since I'd seen it earlier. I just love little diners. It's a pretty small restaurant with a very friendly staff. They have a nice variety of meals, and their prices are incredibly reasonable; I got a large salad for under $11, and my sister got a small one for under $9. The small one at home would have easily been $12- $15 at home! Both were huge! I took home probably 2/3 of mine and half of my sister's. and got 2 more meals out of it. And their iced tea was freshly brewed and they kept refilling our glasses. They also had a variety of pies, although we didn't want any. They do charge 3% for using credit cards, but they also make it abundantly clear before you pay; there are signs on both doors, another by the register, and they also tell you. I actually complimented them on how they inform their customers of that fact. If you're hungry and near the Village Kitchen, it is absolutely worth stopping.

We noticed the sign, seat yourself, and found a number of clean tables. We were quickly approached by the server, provided us with a menu and took our drink order. We opted for the turkey BLT, which was delicious and a great portion. We also opted for a cheeseburger, salmon and a beef Manhattan. All our food was cooked great, quick turnaround and great service.

The exterior isn't fancy, but the food was exceptional.
