    chicken marsala
    Janice K.

We ordered takeout since our family in Indiana has a 2 year old that doesn't do great in restaurants. My husband ordered the sausage roll and it was huge. He rates it 4/5. My chicken marsala was not good. The broccoli was delicious but the chicken was swimming in oil. The menu description said lightly breaded so I was thinking just a seasoned flour dredge. This was definitely a normal three layer breaded chicken. Just look at the picture of all the oil in the container, yuck. I would never order this again. The chicken was cooked well and the mushrooms were good. There aren't many restaurants in the area so if we ate here again I would maybe try the pizza.

We were staying at the cabin and decided to grab food at Caruso's restaurant. Well, we've heard many great things about this location over the years. We had not tried it until recently. While we placed a takeout order so perhaps the food quality isn't quite the same as what she would get at the restaurant, however, we were all disappointed with the food and it's temperature.

We placed a to go order, a medium pizza, toss salid and bread sticks. Cost $65.00. NEVER AGAIN Caruso's. The pizza was over cooked, bread sticks are now from a frozen bag. What happened, you used to be great food for a fair price.

It was some of the best Italian cuisine I have had recently. I had the veal Marsala. It is made fresh Nice creamy and smooth sauce. The fettuccine noodles were cooked a little past al dente though and there was a taste from the pasta that reminded me of well water. It did not keep me from eating the pasta. The Caesar Salad was good. When I think of Caesar Salad I think of homemade crouton, lettuce with torn--not cut--leaves, raw or coddled eggs, Parmesan cheese and anchovies. I was a little surprised by the "UP" charge for the two anchovy slices. It was only two bucks though and it made the salad pretty epic. My wife had the shrimp scampi. I got to taste one, but the rest she kept pretty well guarded. Server' name was Delinda I believe. She was very good and you could tell she really liked her job.

This restaurant is the "vibe" of the town, the parking lot was to the top. The space and environment has the Italian flavor for your senses not to be disappointed. Our waitress was PAIGE , she was energetic, nice and very communicative, coming to us many times to make sure we have all we needed. The food came fast and is very tasty, this was a surprise considering that we were traveling from New York to Wisconsin, when we saw A big billboard inviting us to visit here, we accepted! We order the calamari, I was about to say that it was "normal good", but the sauce have a kick that makes it better than normal good. The veal Parmesan was very good, the garlic bread will be in my dreams tonight, and the blueberry mascarpone??? Should be in a culinary competition to win the first price Overall the food is 4 stars out of five, pretty good for where we are and the portions were "Jurassic". Guess what? The surprise at the end was that we were able to pay with Apple Pay

Loved the veal Marsala - amazing. And the side of fettuccine Alfredo was on point. Service was excellent.

Service was great after our short wait. The minestrone had plenty of vegetables but was a little bland.

Not impressed. I have been to better Italian restaurants and the food was so so. Won't return.

Do they have a kids menu?

My wife and I had no children with us and we don't remember if there was a kid's menu. It may be that a kid's menu is provided if the server sees there are children present. Sorry. Here is the link for the menu we saw.…

Decided to find a place we've never been that was between BC and home. Discovered Cork and Barrel. Looked good. Reviews were great. Called and spoke with the owner (so kind) to make sure we could get a table, and to Angola, IN we traveled. The owner warmly greeted us by name (per our phone conversation) and we were seated at a quiet, casually elegant corner table. Decor is beautiful, subdued. Music played softly. Lights were dim. (We recognized the location which several years ago was "The Hatchery.") Lovely ambiance. Food and beverages were wonderful! We shared a cold and crunchy wedge salad which the kitchen split for us. As our main meal, we shared three dishes from the tapas menu: smoked salmon, ahi tuna, and 3 mini shrimp tacos. All are pictured and described below. Our server, Megan, was a pure joy! We also were treated to the bruschetta...a nice surprise! SO fresh! Yum! Will we be back? YES! Should you try Cork and Barrel? ABSOLUTELY!
