Overall Vibe: Full…read moreGroom: A Full Groom at Woof Gang Bakery Laguna Niguel includes a luxury bath with shampoo and conditioner, hand drying, full body brushing & styling, nail trimming, gentle ear cleansing, sanitary trim, and anal glands by request. Pricing: was fair and as a first-time client i was able to get a 20% discount. Experience: Not going to lie, I was a little anxious initially because finding a new groomer is like finding a hair stylist. It takes trust and loyalty. Andrew was soo patient with me. He really listened to my concerns, looked at my photos that I had ready of his previous cuts, and I was incessant about not having his tail touched. I had a previous encounter years ago at PetSmart where the groomer made my dogs tail look like a pig. I was livid! Ever since then, I have PTSD when I have a new groomer, so I try to stay with the ones I have. This time, Andrew was kind and delivered exactly what I wanted. I asked for the happy hoodie to be on my floof to prevent water going inside his ears, and when blow drying so it wouldn't bother him. Score. No collar due to collapsed trachea issues, so harness it is. He came out looking like the lion that I wanted him to be. I love it!! Given it was cut a little shorter than I expected, but he looks good. Dewclaws cut and rounded with the Dremel, face looking like a lion and not a lamb or bear, tail flowing like a fountain. He came out with a personalized scarf with his name on it and smelling delicious!! Thank you to the team here for taking care of my baby. Like his mom, he has some medical issues, but you guys took care of him and I appreciate it. I appreciate the owner Charisma for being patient with me when I lost my purse and was running a little late for fear of being outside the 30 min window and was told that it would not be an issue if I called them due to the circumstances. Luckily for me, I paid my remainder on apple pay and then went home to find my lost purse. Key to those reading, before you make an appointment, there is a deposit of $20 that must be paid before securing your appointment. That fee is then incorporated in the total when you are ready to pay the remainder of the groom. Thank you, Andrew, again for doing a great job. Would I come back, yes! Just note, if you decide to make another appointment for groom at time of pick up you get a $5 discount. I wasn't sure when I would be back with my floof due to the chaos of losing my purse at pick up, so I didnt take advantage of it. Just FYI! Recommendations: prior to visit: 1. Have rabies /vaccines done and bring certificates prior to appt and make sure everything is up to date. 2. Reference Photos: It's often said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Providing reference photos of the desired grooming style or look for your pet can be incredibly helpful. This visual aid ensures that you and your groomer are on the same page, leading to a result that aligns with your expectations. Up-to-Date Vaccinations: The safety and health of your pet are of utmost importance. Before your appointment, ensure that your pet's vaccinations are up to date. This helps maintain a safe environment for both the pets and the groomers, reducing the risk of disease transmission. 3. All Over Body Check: Before grooming, it's a good practice to give your pet an all-over body check. Look for any lumps, bumps, or skin issues that may need special attention or that you'd like to bring to the groomer's attention. This way, the groomer can take extra care with specific areas if needed. 4. If floof has any specific needs like Happy Hoodie, have medical issues, anxious , etc communicate with staff prior, make sure its noted in file and remind again day of when talking to groomer. Better safe than sorry. In my case, floof has collapsed trachea, thus NOTHING around throat, no collar. For his safety, harness only. Also, use of Happy Hoodie for his ears and cotton on his ears to prevent water going in ears to prevent ear infections. If want anal gland expression, you must request it and document it.

Unfortunately, my experience has been consistently frustrating. During my time as a customer, I have dealt with numerous appointment reschedules initiated by the business, frequent groomer turnover, and multiple price increases. The final straw was today's appointment. After my grooming appointment was rescheduled last week, I rearranged my work schedule and left work early to make today's appointment. I even received a confirmation call asking if I would be there. However, when I arrived, I was turned away because my dog's rabies vaccine had expired four days earlier. I understand the importance of vaccination policies and have no issue with businesses enforcing them. My disappointment is that this was not caught or communicated during the confirmation call, before I adjusted my schedule and drove to the appointment. A simple conversation beforehand would have saved everyone time and frustration. After more than a year of dealing with repeated scheduling issues, staff turnover, and increasing prices, this experience was enough for me to decide to take my business elsewhere. I am disappointed because I wanted to continue supporting this local business, but the overall experience has become more of a headache than a convenience.
