After a rather basic toe nail clipping, they were charged $650 dollars to be paid immediately. It is astonishing that any podiatrist would grift the elderly as part of their practice. I see a different podiatrist and he does far more for far less to care for my orthopedic issues with professionalism, and more importantly, an actual treatment plan. My friends didn't want me to create additional issues by filling a complaint. When he made his rounds again, I was there and they said "no thank you" as they can refuse treatment that wasn't sanctioned by them. They consider the matter settled, but I promised to leave a fair review. His nail clipping he billed as a "treatment" and a $650 check on their bank statement is despicable. Should anyone reading this review feel compelled to report this practitioner for such practices, you can file a formal complaint with the Podiatric Medical Board of California (PMBC).

He included detailed information on orthotics, healing practices to be more consistent with, a well-laid path for building up to running and suggested a CT scan to rule out any non-union at my incision site or any hardware issues that my X-rays or MRI might not have detected. He also took the time to thoughtfully and sensitively let me know I might not be the best candidate for custom orthotics. I ended the call feeling incredibly heard, honored and taken care of. I began laser treatment on my nails with him and as many of those treatments showed no improvement he performed total nail avulsion (ripped nails out). Now my nails are completely ruined for life. I spent almost $2k with him and every time I see my nails I fully regret the day I met him. I would have been much better off had I not done anything to my nails. Don't be lured with his marketing and web site. Do your own research. Laser treatment doesn't work for most people - save your money. And, certainly don't have anyone remove nails unless it is causing pain or other issues. At the of the day, be wary of fast-talking doctors. This doctor is more interested in his own fitness, podcasts and buying real estate (just ask him or do a search online first). I'm sure he does well with older ladies out there who need someone to talk to, but now my nails are 90% worse than when I started. He really is a doc on the run. Our first appt was first week of Oct 2023. I went in with ankle pain, and he diagnosed it as overpronation. I think that's accurate, but havent yet gotten a second opinion. He told me custom orthotics would fix this. His assistant would check on my insurance coverage ahead of next appt. He was running behind schedule, but that's typical at medical practices. He gave me a good amount of time/attention and explained things thoroughly... My follow up appt was the following week to get molds for my custom orthotics. While his assistant called to confirm the appt, she did not update me that my insurance would not cover the orthotics. In first appt, I was led to believe they would run ~$400. At my second appt, I excitedly showed him my recently purchased insoles, asking for his expert thoughts, given his 25+ years experience. And of course seeking validation that I chose good ones. He gave me no validation, simply stating "good for you" and when asked several times for his opinion, he said he will not comment on anything but custom, bc that's "what I sell". So it seems he is a sales person. Not an expert on podiatry. I get that he might not know as much about alternatives, but this was frustrating. If he doesn't sell the product, he'll hardly acknowledge they exist. So is he really solving the issue, or simply pushing a product? Next, he dramatically showed me a piece of paper his assistant filled out that referred to my insurance coverage. He said that I am not covered, and that he charges $850 for the uninsured. My jaw dropped, I asked him what about the $400 range discussed, and he said again, very calmly, matter-of-fact, "I charge $850". So, in (not) my best moment, I stood up and quietly left his office. I imagine this happens often, and I figured best to share my experience so other people will not waste their time here.

But nothing worked! I was sooooooo helpless and frustrated that I decided to seek another doctor. I found Dr Leslie Wolff on my own by just searching for doctors in my insurance group and it was like finding a treasure. He knew exactly what needs to be done, how to fix everything and was shocked at the way I was medically treated somewhere else.
