Unfortunately, a few months later while responding to a fire call, the ring got crushed inside of his glove upon cracking a door down. I had an extremely disappointing and frankly insulting experience at this jeweller. I brought in a 3 carat natural diamond ring--a significant, high-value piece--and was absolutely stunned when they offered me $450 for it. That offer wasn't just low; it was offensive. It showed either a complete lack of respect, or a blatant attempt to take advantage of me. But it didn't stop there. After making that laughable offer, they had the audacity to suggest I trade my natural 3 carat diamond for a much smaller lab-grown diamond. As if I wouldn't know the difference--or worse, as if I wouldn't care. It was incredibly shady, and felt like a deliberate attempt to scam me. I've since had my ring appraised by two reputable professionals, and unsurprisingly, it's worth many thousands more than what I was offered here. This place clearly preys on people they assume don't know better. If you have anything of real value, do yourself a favor and steer clear. I don't usually post public reviews, but I was so disappointed with our experience here. We had booked 3 forever bracelet appointments for my mom's birthday, which was difficult to plan as she lives out of town and my sister and I have two children. We booked our appointments approximately 2 weeks prior, as their website says that you should book your appointment 3 days in advance to ensure a jeweler and the chain you want are available. I sent a simple, detailed description of what we wanted per their instructions. I received two confirmation emails for our appointment. We arrived on our scheduled date. We walked in, and the staff had NO idea that we had an appointment. Absolutely no clue or documentation of such. One of the workers went into the back and brought out a Tupperware box and threw it down on the table and said "well, that's all we have. You can dig around in there if you want something." There was one chain option. ONE. Their website had many to choose from, which is why we decided to go with Glennpeter. I am so disappointed because this was for my mom's birthday and I took all of the necessary steps to ensure that they would have what we needed. It was so unprofessional. Then the jeweler came over and said "the small chains break, I wouldn't get them." So not only was he telling us that his product was not well made, but he didn't even have the product to speak of. A week later, receive a call that they now want $100 more for the repair. Nothing changed, they just wanted more money. Another local store is doing the work for less then the initial quote. My husband purchased my engagement ring from Glennpeter, and we also got our wedding bands here. Mary and Tracey were wonderful to work with and provided us with fair prices on all of our pieces. We actually purchased the rings from their Clifton Park location which is a small fraction of the size of this store, but have since had multiple services done here. Since being married, both ladies are now working at this location as well, so it's been great to see familiar faces. I have a warranty on both my engagement ring and wedding band, and part of that includes having your ring inspected twice a year. I've gone in a few times to have that done now, and have had nothing but great experiences. The process takes maybe 10 minutes, and they then proceed to clean your ring, making it look super sparkly and new. They even return it to you atop a silver Hershey kiss, a nice touch. Another service I had done at Glennpeter was having to have my wedding band cut off while pregnant. As awful as this sounds, it really wasn't THAT bad. The removal actually did seem to take a while, due to my band being pretty thick. But once I gave birth and had it resized, you cannot whatsoever tell that it was ever cut off. The store itself is absolutely beautiful. Everything sparkles (obviously that's the point). They have a lounge area as well as a bar area, and I believe a private room to host parties (interesting concept). I haven't had the urge to purchase a new piece of fine jewelry, but if I do, I will for sure be returning here. read more

My wife brittani and I spent 10k on an engagement ring here. It has lost multiple diamonds within a couple times of wearing it. She had to have it fixed 3 times so far. The ring turns her finger green. She no longer wants to even wear the ring because it is missing diamonds and broken looking more then is fixed and she is embarrassed that it looks like this and her finger is green. The timeliness of their work and the quality of their customer service have secured me as a return customer. Upon entering the beautiful store, an employee helped me almost immediately. The sales person, Mariana, was patient and helpful while I looked through countless rings. She did a great job of listening to my budget and style preferences when choosing a setting. Additionally, the store manager came over several times throughout the process to ensure everything was going well. Great jewelry store. Service was great. I worked with one their jewelers to design a custom ring for my wife and it was a great experience. The guy I worked with was super cool and you could tell he genuinely loved what he did and he kept in touch with me throughout the experience. He would send me proofs and I'd make changes to fit the vision I had in my head and he never once got upset or frustrated with me. He took my drawing I did on paper and converted it the software. The diamonds I wanted were pretty rare and they actually went to jewel show down in NYC to get exactly what I wanted. Since we purchased the ring, they've done the warranty check ups 2 times per year and on one occasion they had to replace a few diamonds on the band's of he pavé set and the turnaround was quick. Sorry to say I didn't have a good experience here tonight (maybe not so sorry). The boyfriend and I went in to look at engagement rings for the first time and was never approached for the first 10 minutes. Finally a nice young man greeted us and asked if anyone was helping us. After saying no he asked if we just got there. We again said no and he apologized, then offered us a beverage (wine, beer, water). He asked how he can help and after telling him why we were there he showed us where to look. He was very nice and said he would be back to go over a few things with us. Well, he was helping someone else and got busy with them so we just looked around for a while. No one else approached us the whole time we were there (30 minutes). There were 3 other employees there (besides the man helping us), talking and laughing amongst themselves, the whole time. My boyfriend and I became upset over the non-customer service and left. I had high hopes for Glennpeter's and was VERY disappointed. We won't be returning and definitely won't be buying our rings here. 2 stars only because we were approached by a nice young man who attempted to help us. read more

So my now wife and I have bought her engagement and our wedding rings at this store with a lifetime warranty. It's easy to be caught up in the emotion of it all, we even sent pictures to the store. Unfortunately, my wife came in late for an inspection for the lifetime warranty we purchased, being 9 months pregnant and her mother recovering from chemo, she had forgotten. With tears, she had informed me that they constantly quoted contract law to her and told her they will no longer honor the lifetime warranty because of her breach of contract, thus we do not get the value of what we paid for. I came into the store and questioned this, I was quoted, more than once, about the contract and letter of the law. Now I understand technicalities and legal protection, but I also understand how lifetime warranties have been honored in the past, 6 month increments of coverage, not including gaps but covering it again upon the next inspection in another 6 month interval if the ring and diamond is in perfect condition. Well my wife's ring is in perfect condition, and there is no claim to repair or fix it, which is also agreed by the store, but again was quoted contract breach and that the 'old' way of honoring these contracts are no longer viable because the store is under new ownership. I wish I had known that their 'old' business practice, which is why I had bought it in the first place, in honoring a lifetime warranty was apt to change over the course of the ring's lifetime. Please be careful of empty promises to lure you into additional purchases, then have them act like a contract lawyer after they have their money from you. read more

My experience at Glennpeter, and with Ryan specifically, could not have been more fantastic. I came here to purchase an engagement ring, and I had several very specific attributes that I wanted the ring to possess. However, these attributes were not necessarily complementary of one another, or likely to coexist in a single ring. Nevertheless, Ryan patiently wrote down everything that I was looking for, and proceeded to show me a gorgeous array of rings. He dealt honestly with me, and at no point did he give me the hard sell or pressure me to buy something more expensive. A customer buying an engagement ring is incredibly vulnerable, but rather than take advantage, Ryan and his colleagues were totally straightforward. In fact, they made several crucial suggestions to optimize the ring's appearance that actually lowered the overall price tag. The ring needed to be special ordered, so Ryan promised to keep me updated throughout the process. And he kept his word more conscientiously than I ever thought possible. He informed me, via text, e-mail, and/or phone call, every time there was a development. I had some timing considerations, so he convinced the manufacturer to push the completion date forward by nearly a week. It was clear that he was as committed to getting everything perfect as I was, and he succeeded brilliantly. In the end, Ryan was one of the first people to whom I sent a post-proposal picture. At Glennpeter, I have not simply gained a trustworthy jeweler; I have gained a reliable and supportive friend. For a major jewelry purchase, you would be crazy to go anywhere else. read more

I have an automatic watch that had a hand come loose and so I brought it in for service. I told the clerk that I needed the hand reattached and that the watch has been giving me trouble with staying running. She mentioned that due to its age, it would need to be serviced. She also mentioned that the shop does not have a watchmaker on site and the watch would need to be sent out to be worked on. Be prepared to wait. It takes about 2 months for work to be completed. When I got the watch back, The hand had been reattached, but not serviced. For $10, I thought this was a decent price, till I noticed all the dirt on the face on the watch. I promptly told the clerk that I wanted all the dirt the watchmaker added to my watch removed. 2 months later the watch returned. I inspected the face of the watch and about 90% of the dirt had been removed. I was not happy. I was going to take the watch and go elsewhere, but when I tried to wind the watch, the stem fell out. Another 2 months and the stem has been reattached. The 10% dirt was not removed as per my request. I understand that this is not a watch costing thousands of dollars and it seems as if the watchmaker was put off by working on it. I would not recommend having a watch serviced at this location. I plan to get the watch serviced elsewhere. read more

This place is especially dear to my fiance and I's hearts because its where he got the engagement ring. My fiance found this place after researching where to get my engagement ring. I was surprised when he took me here to get an idea of what I liked and to get my size-I was totally expecting a little corner shop in a mall. This place is very grand-it's almost ALMOST like the entrance of Tiffany's-there are tall pillars with a vaulted ceiling-which gives it a spacious and grandiose feel. There is also a fireplace in one corner with a lounge couch. Not to mention there is a bar with a mounted flat television. The service was incredibly helpful, friendly and very personable. We actually got help fro the owner which was surprising to us. Beyond upset with this place, Before purchasing from Glennpeter's we thought so highly of this place but when my fiancé and I went in to purchase his ring everything seemed to go ok, The salesman was friendly, advised that we get 50% off my fiancé's ring because he had purchased my engagement ring and band from them, I paid cash and they gave me a receipt, all seemed fine. Then my fiancé went in to pick up the ring and they ordered the wrong one (which would have been no big deal, mistakes happen) but then they tried to say he owed another $250 for the right one. I called and flipped and was told that the salesman should have called to get the price of gold and that we should not have gotten 50% off his ring (which everyone in that place initially stated we would get). I AM NOT A JEWELER and no one ever said any of this beforehand, then after a half hour on the phone the very snotty sales manager (woman) stated (AFTER I told her I had an invoice stating I owed $0 balance) that because they are a reputable company that they will honor the price. If you were reputable I would not have had to fight with you over what your salesman messed up. On TOP of that when he went back in to pickup the CORRECT ring they STILL tried to charge him and try to play like I never had that conversation with the sales manager. Left such a bad taste in our mouth. We will NEVER go here again and have been sure to tell others to beware when purchasing anything from Glennpeter read more
