The breakfast hour was pre-arranged when we arrived and the breakfast was very, very good. I really liked how there was fruit, a fresh pastry and an omelette for two. At the Shawnee in Nothing special for celebrations, When you go to Wyndham they have champagne, balloons for you no extra charge. When I contacted the Shawnee in i was told you need to pay for anything you want, champagne, strawberries etc. The room is small, it's a long walk from the parking lot to the room so it was difficult for someone who has a hard time walking and bring your items from the parking lot to the room. So we did go to the museum and was told the building is 115 yrs old and there is a ghost in room 105 great we're in the next room, ghost in the ball room and in the 3rd floor. This building almost made it to become filmed on the shinning but another building won. Many celebrities have been here I've listed pictures for you to see. Do you believe by freak our tv wouldn't work? It was working fine then stopped working. The maintenance guys were awesome very friendly! Replaced the tv from the haunted room 105. This hotel, you can literally walk out the door and go a block and a half and your restaurants are right there in either direction. I wanna make it extremely clear how nice though the hotel was. An outstanding air conditioner or heater that worked remarkably well in the room to control your climate to exactly how you wanted it. Super clean with all the bathroom and other amenities. No need to Uber. I want to really point out that this town has multiple breweries and wineries and restaurants. The room itself had a greasy, dirty texture on the floor that stuck to our feet after showering, requiring us to wash off our feet before putting shoes on. And finally, I found out later that the front desk attendant charged us a pet fee even though we had no pet with us and never even asked about animals. We had to request a refund after the fact, and since customer service didn't believe us we had to wait for them to call the hotel to confirm we did not bring an animal before getting refunded. Would recommend the Penn Stroud if you are in the area instead of Hampton Inn Stroudsburg/Poconos if you want clean rooms and a pleasant stay.

The bathtub has AWFUL WATER PRESSURE! IT TOOK 30 MINUTES TO FILL FOR BATH! Then on to of that the bathroom door won't close all the way. It's stuck open and you cannot lock it! Let alone shut it properly. 2.) it take even longer to drain! I had to put my daughter in the King size bathroom in the jacuzzi and bend to wash her hair. If you have kids with you you know it's not an easy thing when they want to play instead of getting rinsed! For all the points it takes to stay here and being the Presidential you would think it would be perfect?? Just be aware when your come to plan for this. I wish it was a little warmer once getting out of the water and they didnt really have a lot of towels available. Shouldnt matter if it was close to closing. The sink in the room was not in the bathroom with the toilet and tub but it was outside right next to it. Convenient for me to do my makeup with the lights and big mirror and for him to shave. The walls seem thin... The breakfast was a little cheapy breakfast. The staff was very nice. The wi-fi was a pretty crappy connection. There's not much to do within a few mins drive. Also not a lot available to eat late at night. Not even the restaurant next door however the owner directed us to a Wendys down the road. Its not the greatest hotel, you get what you pay for. As a young couple on a budget, it wasnt bad for us. I enjoyed my stay and would come back.
