I was with my church group on 8/21 to 8/23. Unlike any other place, the place is quiet and nice that I felt very nice to there. Nice cozy, clean room and good food, with friendly staff. We were warned at the beginning of our stay to not bring in any animals, not to smoke, or bring in a lot of extra sweaty people. When we first walked in the module room, it was as if a wet, chain smoking dog had been throwing a sweaty dude party inside. The smell was unbearable. The walls were incredibly thin, and we were put in a room with people staying in each neighboring room. We did not stay long enough to explore any further. The smell and the thin walls were convincing enough that we would not enjoy a night of peace. The pictures are deceivingly positive. It's amazing they can hide their yelp reviews and still charge $146 a night! This place was bad. Sad. And very scary. But the front desk people were very pleasant. We started to drive home 2 hrs from the Lake & decided to try & find accommodation for less than $200/night in Stroudsburg PA area. Wow!Impossible! But then wandered upon this place that uses photos of the huge inn out front that's been closed for years to trick guests into booking & staying in sub par rooms in old metal modular strips out back. Once probably a grand resort, now this is a broken down musty old motel with bad plumbing, crunchy sheets, and a tv that wouldn't turn on. The desk clerk told us there had been a recent fire so the swimming pool was out of order! We called the repair guy to our room after we checked in at 8:30 pm because we couldn't get the bath tub water to turn on. David, the feisty old handy man, came & barked at me that he has worked here 28 years and of course the knob works. He had to yank and twist and wrestle the knobby in just the right way for water to flow and slammed it hard to shut it off. I tried to mimick him & was terrified I wouldn't be able to shut off the water so gave up. Later, when his wife (?) came back to replace the broken tv. I asked her to show me her trick to turn the water on... and she did (a lot more back n forth wiggle force) but I decided not to use the tub/shower out of fear. The beds have a sheet and a cheap coverlet but no blanket. The mini fridge wasn't plugged in so may not have worked. The A/C had one setting: HIGH! Freezing us. I booked through booking.com but the web page didn't take my money. I had to pay at the desk. Then David called my cell at 11 pm to wake me up and ask if I booked a room & was I coming?!? "You just met me in room 46 where the plumbing wasn't working!" It's the kinda place my mum & I would have stayed for $49.99 in 1990 while traveling across rural PA visiting colleges (in places where we couldnt pitch our tent in a $35 camp site)! Crummy and cozy, semi-clean and a bit stale. But better than sleeping in our car. read more

My family and I did not feel safe and decided to leave. I spend anywhere from 20-50 days a year traveling and I have never seen a property this bad. This is such a nice area and @ one time (1950s) this was probably a nice property. The toilet in the lobby is visible to all though fading tinted glass. There is NOT a working pool, please see pictures of their outdoor pool. The spa area has very limited hours. I wanted to take a picture in the lobby, but did not feel safe. As much as I tried to like this place I need to warn others. DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY ON HOTWIRE. I have been to all 50 states traveling and was returning from my seventh trip to Europe and never seen a property this bad. I noticed on another travel review site that a family with a special needs child claimed that they were treated unfairly. I still have a teaching license and if those allegations are true there are agencies that could investigate. read more

Words cannot describe how dissatisfied we were with our stay at Glennwood Inn & Conference Center. Despite the inaccurate and deceiving pictures posted, this place is an absolute pig trough. When staying multiple, consecutive nights, housekeeping DOES NOT clean your room, there are no simple amenities (refrigerator, microwave, etc.), our two-bed room was supplied with 1 bath towel and 2 wash cloths...THAT'S IT. When we asked for more towels and service, owner/manager rejected our request. DO. NOT. STAY. HERE. Work the overtime at your job the week prior and come to an elegant and exclusive hotel in New Jersey -- it is no surprise this hovel is in Pennsylvania. A mistake that we will not make twice! Terrible. Broken asphalt, , dirty rec room without AC. Broken hot water heater, ants, poor lighting, and inshampooed carpets, unattended front desk. People seem to stay here a day and leave in disgust. Owner punished me for a higher rate after I complained about him forcing me to change room. We had a poor experience at this motel. The gentleman who checked us it's was very pleasant but that's about where the positive points end. The room we got had mold in the shower and sink. The paint in the bathroom ceiling was peeling off and the light fixture had dead bugs in it. The blankets smelled like cheap perfume. There were hairs on the linens and towels; red and black- my whole party has brown hair. The lights were covered in dust. And the smoke alarm was missing. The entire property is dated for sure. I can't knock em for that. The mini fridge in our room looked older than I am and it took well over a day to get cold (it was unplugged when we entered the room ). Very disappointing as we were traveling with a baby who needs her milk kept cold. One of the two beds was unusable. It completely sank in the middle. The other bed was fine and the pillows were surprisingly comfortable. Big and firm, not those faux fluffy ones that collapse to nothing when you put your head on it. We got the impression the property is in the middle of you updating. Our room had wood floors which was a happy surprise! And the TV was modern with a large option of channels. Free wifi is available with decent connection. We did not enjoy that the lock and chain on our door looked like it had been tampered with in the past. When we ordered delivery, our delivery driver expressed he didn't realize the motel portion was even still in service anymore as he frequently delivers to the rental houses on the property and never sees anyone there... When we went to check out I was fully prepared to express my concerns and complaints to management only to find no one manning the front desk and a basket with a note saying to drop the keys there. What a dump! I couldn't believe my eyes when I turned in from the road. The entire place is more than run down; some of it is falling down. The 10/10 and 8/10 ratings have to be from the owners, because no one in their right mind would give this place a good rating. 3/10 would be very generous. The only honest comment that I can make that isn't negative is that our room was clean. However, when we walked in, we were met by a strong musty smell. We opened the window and went to dinner and a couple of hours later it was better, but still not good. I'm 72, have traveled extensively both in the US and abroad and have never stayed in such a rundown/falling down hotel. The average rating of 7.4/10 appears to be "home cookin'." read more

My wife and I were in Pennsylvania for weekend. Very good price. If your not a judgemental person and don't require 5 star accommodations this is perfect. Jacuzzi and pool were super clean. The son at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The property is basic and probably much prettier in the spring and summer. There was no door signs so housekeeping doesn't bother us, BUT THERE WAS NO HOUSEKEEPING. I'm glad we were only there for a short stay. Because we needed more towels and the garbage dumped. The pool looked amazing unfortunately the hours on the website were NOT correct. We really like to start the day after a swim. The website was said the pool wasn't open until the afternoon, which is not correct. So unfortunately we didn't get a chance to swim. There was absolutely no food or ICE!!! If you want an inexpensive place that is close to a lot this is the place. It is definitely no HILTON or MARRIOT. It is actually a MOTEL not a hotel. 3 stars is fair it is a decent place. Not good. Horrible. I attended with a group of about 80 people for a weekend and every room I stepped in smelled like strong mildew and I'm now physically sick (along with many others who are sick). We had to buy candles and fresheners to keep our rooms fresh. We had holes in our walls in my room and one of my friend's room ceiling was buckling in and they had to move her out of it. The feedback on the food was really bad. I couldn't take a shower because there was no hot water in my room (the next day I was able to take a hot shower) and at one point the main bathroom near the main facility had no running water so people couldn't flush the toilet or wash their hands. A friend saw one of the people working for the facility cleaning the floor with hand sanitizer. I highly advise staying away from this place. read more

When you think of camp sites, you think of bunk beds and shared showers or outhouse showers. This isn't the most updated and modern camp site but it's simple/basic and clean. Unlike other camp sites, this site provides a mini fridge, an air conditioner, beddings and and your own personal bathroom(which we love because you know, we have our own bathroom). The tv sets are old and not necessary to be in the room, because really, when you think of camp, you think of nature and fellowship with the people around you. Decors and furnishings are old and with some updating, this place has a great potential. The service hall and the dining hall were sufficient for us and the food they prepared were good. We are satisfied with the privacy that this site offered as well as the good food. We have church camps every year and if given the chance, we would like to have a camp site with amenities that this site offers. read more

Our church held our retreat here and it was a good place for us. I was able to easily schedule a visit and take a tour and it suited our church's needs. Will definitely return again next year. read more
