The guest accommodations had no hot water, plumbing issues, and a toilet that would not flush. When concerns were brought to Trisha's attention, we were met with comments like, "Ugh, this is my life," rather than solutions. The bridal suite was equally disappointing. The water smelled strongly of sulfur, making the tub unusable for the bride and groom on their wedding night. The air conditioning was not working, and although Trisha was informed the night before, it was still not fixed the next morning. At 7:00 a.m. on the wedding day, I texted her to let her know it still wasn't working and received no response. This was a 90+ degree June day, and fifteen women were trying to get ready in the bridal suite without air conditioning. On the morning of her wedding, my daughter was told that dogs were not allowed in the bridal suite, despite us being told during our initial tour that dogs were welcome. After the ceremony, Trisha told the bride and groom that the groomsmen's belongings had been locked away and needed to be collected, pulling them away from their guests. She also told them it was "the worst wedding she had ever hosted," which is something no couple should ever hear on their wedding day. There was also an incident in which Trisha physically grabbed our wedding coordinator's arm, dug her nails into her, and pulled her toward the parking lot. To make matters worse, I discovered an unauthorized $264.84 room charge on my credit card. Most disappointing of all was the complete lack of accountability afterward. We spoke directly with one of the owners during the wedding weekend and were promised a follow-up call the next day. Despite multiple calls and messages from both my husband and me, we never received a response. My family has been in the hospitality industry for many years. We understand that problems can happen. What matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we cannot recommend this venue.

The lobby is very nice and inviting along with the light color furniture selection and window detailing in the rooms. Upon settling into the room I started finding hair in various places of all color... brown, blond, black, curly, wavy, and straight. My coffee table had a sticky spot on it, clearly not wiped throughly. There were brown/black spots on the ceiling and cabinets. I found a random pair of socks in the stairwell on my last morning as I was leaving. Also the cherry on the cake... my shower took FOREVER to heat up, to the point I thought it wasn't working. I made up my mind that I would suck it up and take a cold shower then check out first thing since I was exhausted and didn't feel like getting dressed and packing. Luckily as I was rushing to take my shower it started to get a little warmer and finally on the verge of hot, so I decided to stay another night and letting it run for 10 minutes before getting in (I would be pissed at this water bill if it were my actual home). This was my first time inside the building, which was built circa 1880, and also at a Cream Tea. It was a lovely experience! Secret Tea Room is a pop-up company that creates classic English tea party experiences. They host events at four locations - DeBary Inn and Reeves-Reed Arboretum (Summit), Morven Museum and Gardens (Princeton), and Van Vleck Gardens (Montclair). Great attention to details! Everyone loved the table settings and chinaware. The loose leaf teas were wonderful; that day, we had an apple cider, Ceylon, and green tea. Then came out the tiers. Oh, the scones! The scones are baked on premise, so they were fresh and delicious. At one point, the hosts also walked around table to table with fresh scones from the oven. It was so nice. I overheard a guest from another table joke, "Oh, you can leave the tray of 17 right here for us please.
