A really cute and cozy place in the Poconos! Came here Valentine's Day weekend and really enjoyed my stay! My partner and I booked the Sleeping Beauty suite and that was the move. The private hot tub was really, really great. Getting to the B&B was quite well laid out and the owner met us even though it was after 9 pm! The room was nice and warm, the bathroom was fairly luxurious and the bed was really comfy. Perfect for a snowy get away. The breakfast hour was pre-arranged when we arrived and the breakfast was very, very good. I really liked how there was fruit, a fresh pastry and an omelette for two. The coffee and juice was good and the dining area was very cute. Can definitely recommend for anyone looking to get a little bit of pampering and a lot of privacy! read more

I'm hoping this review will help some people save $365. I'm not saying that this B and B isn't great. It just depends on your expectations. Short version: we spent $365 for a romantic night. It's not very private, comfortable, or clean. We left by 8pm, so I can't speak to the breakfast part. Longer version: The house is nothing particularly special: pedestrian, on a dark pot-holed street. Arrived around 3:30. We were given little slippers and told to leave our shoes by the door. Our host kindly showed us our room and all the wonders of the bathroom. We were also shown the eating area in the basement. Then some other guests arrived. The doors are quite thin and the room didn't feel private at all. The room looks out on the deck and the neighbors burning trash. The blinds do work. The bathroom was probably very nice when it was installed back in the late 90s. It's just a bit worn and not really luxurious. We used the jacuzzi tube. Water was very hot. The bed was very squishy. You just sink right on in there. Maybe some people like it. Don't let the pictures fool you. The room is a little smaller than it appears. The bathroom has a funny little wall with windows. The fireplace is right at the foot of the bed. The shower is kinda small. There were some romantic lights, but they lacked batteries and wouldn't light up. We mostly couldn't get past the feeling like there was no privacy. And some things that didn't seem too clean. There was even a barbecue sauce pack on the floor next to the bed. I just don't think the place is well maintained. But I guess some people like it. I think if it cost $150 a night it'd be fine. But it's definitely got that Poconos-skeeve vibe happening. This Bed and Breakfast is second to none! Stan and Julia are so welcoming. My husband and I stayed in the Royal Treatment suite for our 15th Anniversary and they put a balloon and a sash on our door that said "Happy Anniversary". It's all the little details like that that make such a difference. It's the pitcher of water in your room, it's the toothbrush holder in the bathroom and the hand soap. Their attention to detail is impeccable, honestly like no other place I have stayed at. The bed was so comfortable that I was trying to figure out a way to bring it home and the bedding was so cozy! A few smaller things however that fell short for us, especially because this place was quite expensive, were the following: 1) although breakfast was presented very nicely, the food quality was not great at all, really on the cheaper side. Except for the coconut croissant which was really amazing, and I wish I could have had more. 2) I wanted to make the room a little cooler, but the in-room thermostat didn't work. 3) The TV connectivity was also hit or miss and would lose connection frequently, I think there may have been some electrical/power issues maybe beyond their control? We had a wonderful time at the Cherry Valley Manor! We stayed in the "Jacuzzi with a View" room which was absolutely beautiful. The entire house was spotless and the experience was incredibly personal. We were greeted by the owners, Julia and Stan, who immediately offered us coffee and slippers to wear around the house. The house was larger than I had expected from the outside, and each room was very spacious. Our room was quiet despite being close to the kitchen, and we could not hear any noise from other guests. There was a ton to do in the area and the views were beautiful, even on a rainy day. We had dinner at Thai Thani (Julia and Stan's recommendation) which was a short drive from the Manor, and the food was delicious. Breakfast was fantastic; multiple courses prepared fresh, all family recipes (best croissant I've ever had!). I would highly recommend this location and will definitely be staying for longer on my next visit! read more

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Cherry Valley Manor and had such a nice time. Stan and Julia are amazing hosts and really made us feel at home in their home. Breakfast every morning was amazing and a great way to start the day. Breakfast on the patio was so nice and peaceful, which made it hard to get going for the day. The manor is in a great location, close to so many things to do in the Poconos. Our room was comfortable and spacious with a nice jacuzzi tub and shower. We enjoyed our weekend getaway in the lovely Delaware Water Gap at this very cozy B&B. The innkeepers Stan and Julia were very gracious. Our "Romantic Occasion" room was lovely. The cheese and fruit platter was appreciated upon arrival. The birthday banner on the door was sweet as well. The jacuzzi was nice after a long hike at Worthington State Park. Breakfasts were good and plentiful. We had dinner at the Stone Bar Inn in nearby Snydersville and it was delicious. My husband and I spent our 10th wedding Anniversary at Cherry Valley Manor this past weekend and absolutely loved everything about it! This was our first time staying at a B&B so we weren't too sure what to expect. From the time we arrived we were impressed right away with the beautiful elegant decor and cleanliness of the home. Just what we needed!! Celebrated our 12 year anniversary in the Tiffany Suite and it was magical. Huge room, giant four poster canopy bed, two person shower, fireplace (albeit electric), private outdoor hot tub, and spacious sitting area. This room has a convenient separate exit for pool and hot tub access or to get to your car without going through the main part of the B&B. Friendly hosts; tasty breakfast for two, (loved the potato pancakes!); located near several wineries, tasting rooms, live music venues, and restaurants. Just a short drive to the Lake Lenape trailhead on the Appalachian Trail. Can't wait to come back again in fall or winter. read more

We booked The Royal Treatment Suite and came here as per a friends recommendation. She said the room is great with jacuzzi and breakfast was good... Well, as I am learning people do have different tastes, expectations and demands. I am someone who worked in hospitality industry before and traveled to many resorts and stayed in nice hotels, so I have an idea what luxurious surroundings and accommodations should look like. When I see a place rated with 5 stars, I expect nothing short of excellence. Or at least, striving for excellence. I'm also looking for a WOW factor. This place was NOT it. When its Bed and Breakfast. What do you look for? Exceptionally comfy bed (and bedding) and a good hearty plentiful breakfast, right? With a WOW factor. NOT here. While the house itself is nice and rooms are clean and spacious, the service lacks big time. The owners, we were told, are traveling out of the country and we were greeded by a young lady - a someone helping out, who was dressed in laungy clothes with messy hair bun. She was friendly, nonetheless, and escorted us to our room. As we walked out into a spacious private open air terrace, I've observed bins with old soil and dried up dead plants in it from last year. Also, the terrace had no chairs or table to seat and enjoy the 70F° evening. The young lady had a long list of excuses up her sleeve, as to why the place had no chairs to seat and old last year dry plants for our view. ( I understand it got warm suddenly, perhaps no time to plant, but how about moving the dead plants out of our view at least, into a garage or something?) We were newlyweds on a honeymoon and they were expecting us. We booked this B and B weeks in advance. I don't want excuses, I want to enjoy what we paid for and should have had available to us. Who wants to drink expensive champagne and enjoy fruit and cheese platter with this kind of surroundings anyway? Well, at least she brought us chairs and table for us to seat on the terrace. After we finished enjoying champagne, we enjoyed jacuzzi, and when I got out, I couldn't wait to put on that plush bathrob and snuggle into bed. Well, the bathrob was 100%polyester and so unpleasant on hot steaming skin. The bed was too soft and uncomfortable. It felt even more soft on one side, which makes me believe that it's just two old twin sized mattresses, with one king mattress pad over it, pretending to be a king mattress. In addition to the above, there were no blanket, just a flat sheet and polyester bed cover. Be warn, what you see on the website photos as a bed cover, will be serving as your comforter as well. Which ain't cutting for luxury linens pillows and comforter. Sorry not sorry. The house has central air, but the thermostat in our room wasn't working, so the room is either stuffy hot or if you open window gets too cold at night. I suspect they are saving on electric bill and have it off, yet when you ask they act like something JUST happened. Well, based on other people reviews its ongoing issue. Now, the breakfast. First day was OK. Considering we both tall 5'10 and 6' my husband is a big guy 220lbs, they served us ONE bagel and ONE omelette to share, which simply was not enough food. We both, could have enjoyed FULL breakfast, not share just one. Second morning the food was just horrible. Started with spoiled OJ and not yet ripped not sweet hard cantaloupe . Then we were offered potato pancakes with either sour cream or apple sauce. I asked for apple sauce. The lady, owners daughter, comes back with another "oops, sorry" could not find the apple sauce. Really? You have it on the menu, why not be prepared in advance to make sure you have in stock what you are offering. The potato latkes came out fried, swimming in oil. I still feel sick as I am writing this two days later, with heavy feeling in my stomach. Who knows what kind of oil they even used? Lastly - the mini eclairs ( probably warmed up from a frozen pack) covered with abundant amount of hot chocolate sauce. So heavy and not tasty. Who could eat this? Not a breakfast food at all! To conclude, if you are looking for luxury and comfort- this place is not it. If they called themselves "cheap and charming" and charged $150 per night, it would be more accurate and reasonable. For $300 per night, do yourselves a favor and go elsewhere, where there is good bed and good food and the owners actually care about their guests! Cheap people. Lousy service. And it seems as they don't care to improve, and they don't care for these reviews, because my review is not the first bad review and by the way, I agree with many items on other bad reviews. But do they really care? There are enough suckers out there to keep them in business who give 'em five stars..... I left there feeling ripped off and came home with sore back and stomach ache. Beautiful place! Julie and Stan are absolutely wonderful hosts and you can tell they take great pride in the upkeep of the manor ! Place is spotless and clean. It also smells great! Peaceful and relaxing with a calm, serene vibe all around. Couldn't recommend this place enough! Royal treatment suite is gorgeous with a luxurious bathroom that's bigger than most people's city apartments! Would definitely return. On top of all this the breakfast is delicious and Stan is a wonderful, entertaining waiter! They also have a pool which is a big plus on a hot summer day. Hard to review this place, and not be criticized, but let me try. If you are not very heavy, and have no issue with steps, this place is 5 stars & should not be missed! I am only giving it 3 because of MY experience. Let me first comment on the fact that the home is immaculate. Every inch is spotless. The pool is wonderful. We had The Tiffany room, which is large, has a large leather sectional, gas fireplace, flat screen TV and it's own private deck & private hot tub. The bathroom has a dual shower, with lighted rain shower heads, plus horizontal jets ( like a car wash) plus a regular hand held shower. The area was very tranquilI, peaceful & quiet. Now for my experience. I have 2 bad knees & was told our room is on the 1st floor. True if you enter from the garage, but then to get to the dining area, or pool, because it is a split level home, you still have steps, to go up, then down, or have to walk around the house, climb across flower beds, and through the grass. OK in summer, but cannot imagine what that would be like in winter ( ice/snow/mud). The breakfasts were very tasty. There were some subtle comments regarding our weight by the owner, but I know the reality of this culture is that obesity is the last thing left that some people feel is acceptable to ridicule. The owners work very hard to make a nice stay for their guests, and I am sure my experience is not a common one, so with that said, I am still recommending it to my friends, since none of them have mobility issues or weight issues. read more

We came to this B&B based on the excellent reviews we read. Our experience was totally different, the house is nice, clean and well kept but the owners' attitude was terrible at best! When we arrived we introduced ourselves but he didn't, we figured his name "Stan" from the guest book in our room. He showed us the room with a lot of (don't do) as If we were intruding guests staying for free. Then we asked him about breakfast and his response was "why are you hungry? Are you coming from Africa?" which was rude, racist and inappropriate!. He asked when we would like to have breakfast, we said 8, to which he replied very rudely what 8 everybody asleep at 8. But we didn't know about the breakfast schedule and we had no idea it begins at 8.30 and that they serve 1 or 2 couples at a time. Then on the way to the breakfast area he told us we can use the fridge, nevertheless, when we came back from dinner with leftovers he asked me impolitely what is this? I said the rest of my dinner, he asked where are you gonna put it? I said in the fridge to which he replied: what? You put it and go then I have to throw it? of course I assured him I will take it with me before I leave. I do understand it may have happened a lot that guests leave food behind but he could have asked me politely not to leave it behind. Speaking of dinner, he knew we had plans to go out but he didn't say anything about the front door situation, so when we came back around 9 pm, we politely knocked on the door and he came to open and scolded us and said I told you 5 times that the door is open! "He didn't!". We went to sleep, the bed was comfortable but the room was a bit chilly, we didn't complain as the temperature outside was around 10 degrees. We came down for breakfast and headed to the Keurig machine that we were told we can use whenever but he said No! You go sit and I serve you coffee. At the breakfast table they had cantaloupes, yogurt and juice, I don't like cantaloupes so I sat them aside and ate the yogurt, and here comes Stan and asks me why I didn't eat them, I told him I don't like it and he said good so I save them and took them away, then when he came back to take my husband's fruit plate he said to him in a sarcastic tone oh you ate your fruit, you are good!. I did not appreciate his sarcastic interfering attitude. From what we heard, We expected the B&B experience to be pleasant and homey especially for over 300 dollars a night, We didn't expect to be treated like an unwelcome guests. All the negative reviews were about the owners attitude and all the owner's replies ignored it, so I think if they can't treat their guests in a professional manner they should consider hiring someone else to do it. read more

I have stayed in many b n b .,this place gets only one star. When we first arrived you need to remove your shoes and they do give you slippers but cheap ones like everything in this place. I sleep last night on the sofa in the hall way because you couldn't control the heat and only later in the morning did I find some windows open didn't turn the light because my wife was sleeping. The soap is the smallest bar I have ever seen one inch by one inch and very thin I could here the people talking in the room above us and they weren't talking loud Now come morning which you have to pick a time because they only serve one room at a time.It was horrible I didn't eat a thing even the fresh fruit was bad. We stayed here mid week in January and had a few problems. First the good news. The home is very appealing - it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was a good try, with plenty to eat, but not the best preparation. Now, the not so good news. Apparently the owners were away and the person who greeted us could not communicate very well and really couldn't tell us much about the place. She gave us slippers and showed us to our rooms but couldn't answer any questions. We stayed on the first floor in the Romantic Occasion room. Once we were in the room it was nice enough, but the chairs were uncomfortable, with plastic on the seats and one of the chair arms was broken. The main thing that really impacted our stay, though, was the stifling heat in the room. There was no manual way to control the temperature that we could figure out. The greeter seemed to disappear as soon as we got into our room, so she wasn't available to give us any information either. My husband tried to open a window but some of the windows were sealed and he couldn't find the crank in the middle of the night to open the two windows that could open. (We did find it in the morning about 8:00 am and got some relief). So we had to try to sleep in a very hot room. I managed to get a few hours of fitful sleep but my husband was up all night and finally got into the shower at 5:30 am to cool off. Then at 6:15 he went into the living area to hang out in order to get away from the hot room. When we first arrived, our greeter asked if we preferred 9:00 or 9:30 for breakfast, and was insistent that we choose a time slot. So we opted for the earlier of the two. We later read in the information sheet that breakfast is served in assigned half hour intervals for each couple (an odd system). However, since we were up so early, we considered leaving before breakfast and I kind of wish we had. I know this place gets high marks for charm from the other raters, and it appears to be the best of the B&Bs in the area. I wish our experience had been better and hopefully it was a fluke in an otherwise excellent track record. And it could be that we simply prefer convenience and efficiency to charm. read more

We had the most amazing Valentine's weekend at Cherry Valley Manor. We stayed in the Serenity suite which was just like a mini apartment so we felt like we had our privacy which can sometimes be a problem in Bed and Breakfast properties. The house was kept very clean and Julia and Stan's attention to detail was perfect. They appeared just when we needed them....to make a cup of tea, needing advice on taxi numbers, etc but the rest of the time they just let us enjoy our stay. The breakfast is absolutely amazing, the potato pancakes were the best I've ever tasted and the chocolate eclairs with hot chocolate sauce were divine. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone and we will be returning in the Summer to experience a different kind of weekend break. read more
