The cabins are comfortable and spacious, the grounds in winter are charming and the original photography done by the owners adds a touch of family feel. The pricing is very reasonable. Don't expect cell phone service, internet, or TV in this tiny town although the Gibson's do provide wifi to their guests. If you watch at dusk, you may see the herd of deer tgat grace the town. Update as of 5/26/2015: According to this resort's Facebook Page, they have closed. The…read moregovernment has apparently declined to renew their lease. This resort is on prime real estate and the owners seem to know it. No major renovations (or repairs) in 10+ years. The camp spots are on a high bank, right on the lake shaded by very nice willows. The views are spectacular with the moon and stars reflecting magically off the lake. However, the spots are nothing but dusty dirt patches while the other two resorts on the lower reservoir somehow found a way to set up an irrigation system and have them nice and grassy. The resort startles a state park boat launch with cabins, store, office, showers and docks on the far side from the RV spots. It's a good 200 yard hike to all the amenities. If your trailer doesn't have a toilet and shower, make sure to bring a bicycle. The hookups seemed to work fine, water, sewer and electricity. They have convenient fish cleaning stations. The final hassle was .25 cents for a six minutes shower. $30 a night is on the inexpensive side but you would still expect a shower included. Boats are a reasonable $50 a day, beat up but serviceable. Come for the views and fantastic fishing but don't expect much else!

So my husband & myself along with our young son had been up in the area of Bonaparte Lake yesterday…read more& stopped in here to grab something to eat from the little snack shop they have attached to the restaurant. They didn't have anything that tickled my fancy but I could smell something Coming from the restaurant that made me decide to check out the menu. Of course my young son doesn't eat hardly anything, ( basically pizza or pizza sticks, so it's really difficult to get him to eat..welp anything really).. We ended up ordering their Greek salad & a side of home fries for my husband & myself to share & a kids chicken strip/fries for our son. We DO NOT like to go into restaurants really at all. Too many people, too much going on around us, judgemental people all the time etc etc, so like usual I ordered it to go. Then went back out to our truck to tell my husband & son how long til I could go back in & pick up the food. Our son told us that he wanted to go inside AND he wanted to sit down together INSIDE to eat & of course we did it for his sake. My husband will fight tooth & nail to avoid all public events & interactions usually but not this time. We go in & get sat down by a window overlooking the lake. There was a few folks there not much. Let me tell y'all from the moment we sat down, we felt comfortable, invited, not judged, not scrutinized, not any of the normal stressors that will normally get us to get out of any place as fast as possible! It was really refreshing! The manager guy was very very personable, very engaging but not overly so & the bartender guy was the same. We let our son color on a dollar bill & we all signed it & the manager, without even saying anything to him, brought us a stable gun that he quietly sat on the edge of our table so we could put the dollar up on their walls of bills when ready. The food was great - the fries where probably the best fries my husband & myself have had in a long time & our son ACTUALLY ATE HIS FOOD!!! Great job to the two guys working. We love camping with the convenience of a restaurant on site. The owners and staff are friendly. The food is delicious 95% of the time. Sometimes the burgers and fries have been overcooked. Our favorites are prime rib Saturdays and any/all of their freshly made on-site desserts. We also love that they continue to make improvements and upgrades across their property. Looking forward to next year's stay already.

We stayed in Cabin #12 and it was very nice. It was clean and neat. It came equipped with a full kitchen. We used the refrigerator but did not cook. There was a stack of napkins on the nook table but no paper towels available. Next time I'll remember a roll. The deck was right above the river and was very scenic. The hot tub was very useful to us and we sat in it stargazing for hours. The setting is private with privacy screens on both sides. We had neighbors on both sides of us who were also outside but all was peaceful. Good nature sounds out there. The check in procedure was flawless. It was all faceless and we never entered the office or saw any staff at all. They had our credit card number and sent us an email the day we arrived with the key box code. I'm assuming Covid prompted that procedure but it was smooth. There were a couple rocking chairs and a couch in the tv area. Under the tv was a DVD player and we watched some old Bogart/Bacall movies. Very cool. We already booked another trip next time Washington Pass is clear.

The property is in a great location, just a short walk into town, and it felt safe and relaxing. I had stayed several years ago and still enjoyed my stay, but Angie has clearly put a lot of work into upgrading the place, and it shows. We appreciated the little touches, like having the A/C and even nature sounds playing on the TV when we checked in. We liked that the hotel was nearer the end of the busy part of town, and near the rivers! Nicely appointed, luxurious bed and linens. First rate front desk hospitality.
