We have stayed in multiple of the units here at Pine Near. The staff has always been incredibly nice and easy to communicate with. Check in and out was easy and smooth.wr always recommend this place to people for a quite but fun get away. We loved staying in the greenhouse this winter. It was perfect for 4 adults and two kids. The third room (no pictures) had a bunk bed and one twin bed. There were two fridge/freezers. And even in unit laundry machines. Living room tv has internet connectivity so you can log into your apps. The huge couch was great for all of us to be able to hang out together. read more

We booked six nights at Pine Near and initially found the park clean and pleasant. During our stay, however, wildfires were active in the region, a Red Flag Warning was in effect, and the air quality reached the "Very Unhealthy" range. The conditions became a genuine health and safety concern, and we decided we could no longer safely remain. I explained the situation to the owner, who sounded very understanding and even mentioned medical issues in her own family. We planned to leave the next day, but when the park lost power that evening, we decided not to spend the night without air conditioning in the heavy smoke and left. About 30 minutes later, the owner texted that power had been restored. A couple of days later, after seeing no refund, I contacted her. She offered a three-night credit toward a future stay. I thanked her but explained that we live on the East Coast and could not realistically use it, and asked instead for a refund of the three completely unused nights that followed our departure. We did not even ask for a refund for the night we left, despite not spending that night there. She never responded. I followed up again several days later and again received no response. We did not leave because our plans changed or because we disliked the park. We left because the conditions had become a health and safety issue. I do not blame Pine Near for the wildfires, smoke, or power outage, but I could find nothing in its published policy stating that guests who must leave early under dangerous natural conditions forfeit payment for all unused nights. The park also appeared only about half occupied during our stay. Policies and profits matter, but health, fairness, compassion, and common sense should matter more. We made every reasonable effort to stay and even accepted paying for the night we left. Keeping our money for three additional nights we could not safely use--and then ignoring two requests to reconsider--was unacceptable. For that reason, I cannot recommend Pine Near. read more

We had reservations for two nights. As we were setting up camp (2 p.m.), a large motorcycle group that was also camping at the park, started riding around and through the middle of the campground non-stop for over an hour generating intolerable noise, dust and exhaust. The camp host did nothing to stop this rude and inconsiderate behavior. We packed up and left. read more

I have found a spot which is fantastic! where do I start? The T pee was above my expectations: furnished, clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated with rustic decor and buffalo hide as well. the owner helped with providing ax and lighter, cleanest hotel like showers and mat, honor system for wood, close to downtown and museum. Stopped by on a Friday at 3pm with 35 foot motorhome and no reservations, needing 4 nights. We Had checked 4 other places and no availability. They were full as well. They spent about 10 minutes reviewing reservations etc and were able to get us into an 'overflow' site and then changed us to another site the next day. We were so grateful! I arrived Saturday afternoon after a 3 hour drive to find that my tent site that I reserved was surrounded by RVs that had taken over where the "road" was supposed to be. The person who "helped" me had to move a picnic table so I could drive between the RVs that had taken over to drive on the grass to a site that had yellow lines in the grass that you couldn't see. The person asked if I was going to sleep in my car which I thought was very odd as I reserved a so called tent site. Needless to say I did not stay here and they basically got my $30 fee ... if you like camping with neighbors in your face and if you had an rv i guess it would have been ok for you. I ended up driving back home after I attended the wedding I went to. Made for a very long day. Wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy... read more

It is hard to compare campsites of this type with the style in BC or Washington State parks where you are almost unable to see your neighbours. That being said, this place is a block from the action on the "main" part of town, and that alone is unique for a campsite. Tent campers here will be put up on a nice field under trees that really was pretty pleasant and the picnic tables are movable. I found the claims of the friendly owners to be only partially true, I found them to be a bit disorganized and prickly actually, but not to the point of being unpleasant. On our second stop we stayed in a cabin,.. that was nice, though almost as much $ as a hotel. read more

This campground is warm and welcoming and shows pride of ownership and management. The reservation staff, on the phone and in person, were friendly and professional. The camp is gorgeous, grassy, well-watered, treed and full of shade. The dusty road are well-watered, there are showers with towels and bath mats for a $1 and there's a laundromat on site. We have a fully contained "campervan" named Velma, so we showered and made all of our meals here. The teepees look cool from the outside and it was a quiet and friendly place. We have stayed at Pine Near Rv park on and off for several years. We've used tent spots, tipi, and trailer sites. The electricity, water and sewage hookups have always been reliable/functional. There are premium lone sites or sites available for groups of campers. Anna's family and crew are always available. They are the most gracious hosts willing to please their customers. The onsite (individual) showers and laundry are very nice features when camping. The park is across the street from the Shafer Historical museum. The park is a short walk from downtown shops and restaurants. We would highly recommend a stay at Pine Near if your adventures take you to Winthrop, Wa. or elsewhere in the Methow Valley. read more

Excellent RV park for the family, especially for little ones under the age of 10 in terms of plenty of space between the RV's. RV pads are on turf grass which adds to being in the outdoors, hook-ups are well maintained and in good working order. Service staff was very polite, professional, and they walk you to your space to ensure the set up is appropriate. Other facilities such as showers, toilet rooms and laundry were well maintained and functional with a 'home' look and feel. Residential materials and decor gives the appearance of a nice cabin in the woods feel. Plenty of mature trees on the grounds to provide shade, plenty of picnic tables and fire pits to enjoy the outdoors with the RV amenities. Grounds were very well maintained, nicely cut, gravel road surrounding the grounds were well maintained, small rocks or gravel material, no pot holes or ruts or too muddy. Overall a very well maintained, quiet camp ground. Nice thing is there is an old mining museum with old equipment and structures to highlight the history of the area near the camp grounds, something nice to do with the family for entertainment. The City of Winthrop is very close, 5 minute walking distance to grab coffee, a bite to eat or a treat with the family! Highly recommend this campground to 'Griswald' it up! read more

First time staying here, turned out pretty nice! Labor Day weekend, so it was a busy place, especially in town! Great grass spot, close quarters, but not bad. Parked right across from office, probably would want to be on other part of park. Would definitely recommend this park if traveling through on hwy 20. read more

Awesome campground. It has everything one could need and more. We're on a 3 month roadtrip camping and living out of our car. This was one of the best equipped campsites we've seen. Tent sites are grassy, open, with a picnic table, fire pit, and outdoor wash sinks. They have a building open 24/7 with clean flush toilets, laundry, books, and showers. Anna at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. Best part, it's a very short walk away from downtown Winthrop. Which is a cool tourist town that doesn't look like a tourist town, as it's built to look like an old western gold mining town. Great brewery. We'd absolutely come back if we're ever in this neck of the woods. read more

We have always had a great experience here and we are repeat, repeat customers. Summer: we have stayed in a teepee, mining shack, tent spot, and the bunkhouse. We have been coming here for the past 3 years and it is amazing. You can walk into the town of Winthrop and get fries or ice cream or play golf. They have free WiFi and showers as well as bathrooms. They have a quiet time of 10 pm. This is an amazing camping place!!! read more

This is a gem of an Rv park with extremely reasonable prices. Wide open grass spaces with full hookups. The nicest people you could hope to meet run the park and are always attentive and friendly. You can walk to the cute town of Winthrop in a couple of minutes. We will be back for sure and definitely recommend this to anyone coming this way. LOVED this park! We had recently purchased a pop-up tent trailer and decided to do an early Fall trip to Winthrop in October. Previously I've camped at the KOA just outside of town on several motorcycle trips. We decided to give the Pine Near a shot to try something new. We were MORE than pleased! The park was very quiet, pet friendly (we had our little Jack Russell with us), and very accommodating! The owners are incredibly friendly and stay onsite. The restrooms and laundry facilities are extremely clean. They've even got tipis to rent which looked like a lot of fun! We walked to town in 2 minutes so the location can't be beat. We will most certainly be back next season! read more

Great park! We had a mishap with our reservation and the staff here went above and beyond to take care of us. When it looked like there wouldn't be a coffee maker in our accommodations, the manager insisted we take some cash to get coffee in the morning. Ultimately they got a coffee maker into the trailer! The people who run this place are always hustling. they really make every effort to make your stay the best it can be. we stayed a weekend in one of their tipis. lots of room inside and despite the 100 degree temps, no Mosquitos inside the tipi. note that it isn't completely sealed at the bottom or top so it's somewhat an outdoor experience. when we expressed concern about this the owner quickly gave us other options to try to make us happy. we stuck it out in the tipi and I'm glad we did. restrooms here are always clean as are the showers. they provide towels for your use while showering! cute office area with books to loan and area brochures. easy walk into town by using the foot path behind the museum - just across the street from the campground. read more

This is one of the most wonderful campsites to which I have been. The hosts and owners take exceptional care of you. They walk each vehicle to their spot, and guide them in if necessary. It is superbly taken care of, all grass, watered and well mowed. And I had my two dogs with me, and they made them feel very welcome. The bathrooms were impeccable, and even the Porta potty located on the property was very clean and comfortable to use. I had a slight problem with my hitch, and they were exceptionally kind in solving and making it work. Jerry, was a godsend. And there's not one single employee that isn't charming. What they're doing, they are doing right, and although I don't want it to filled when I want to come, I hope I hope it is filled every single time. They have tipis, tent sites, and cabins, also. A very nice park. Spots can be a little tight in a couple areas and there is not a ton of privacy. The spots are pretty level, all on grass. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. It was a super quiet night. There were some spots with good shade and others were exposed. A super short walk to Main Street and all the activity there - but far enough off the road to be nice and quiet without highway noise or other traffic. They did change my reservation from the spot I reserved (which is the one I wanted) to some other spot which I did not want, before I arrived and without contacting me. The first person I worked with upon checkin was completely insensitive about it, and unwilling to help and completely didn't care at all. He was rude and very unapologetic to the point of I was about to call my credit card and block payment. However another lady came out and had better suggestions. She called the owner, the owner came over and was incredibly nice and the owner made everything right - finding me a nice spot. The second lady who helped out and the owner were both understanding and empathetic, and the owner solved the problems the way they should have been. I am discounting the bad experience and giving them the benefit of the doubt because everything else was great and the owner was wonderful. Word of warning though - if you want a specific site, their "reservations" don't actually mean you will get that site (even though you pick one when you reserve it). If siting is important to you make sure to contact them directly and speak to the owner to make sure they understand that and don't move you around. read more

Stumbling distance one block above Main Street. We recently came over to Winthrop and while we would usually rough it in a secluded camp spot, this place was open and we were really just looking for a place to sleep in the back of the Pathfinder and go into town for the night. They gave us the AAA discount even though we couldn't find our card, and it was $20 for a tent site. Since it was still early in the season and empty, they even let us use an electric hook-up site where we could charge our phones (normally $38-40 site). Super friendly owners, family business. Not a place for roughing it or secluded tent camping. Perfect if you're going to explore the area and need a place to crash. read more

Joined SOTF for a Winthrop Wine & Women event hosted at this RV park. Our group was well tended to by the owners and staff. We enjoyed both the easy walking access to the downtown area as well as the easy access for trailer parking in the well maintained grassy park. I rented one of the newly constructed "miner's cabins" on the hill and was quite comfortable. Do be warned you will have to walk up and down a hilly dirt path to access the cabins or tepees and restrooms. The rest of the park is fairly flat and easy to maneuver. Overall a great place to stay when exploring the Winthrop area! read more

I agree with others about how well maintained this rv park is and how convenient it is to downtown. Like one review said it is a steep climb up and down to Main Street. Use the steps down the hill at the Shafer Museum across the street. The museum is a great collection and recreation of the pioneer period when this town was settled. Don't pass it up. I also highly recommend the Rocking Horse for breakfast treats or lunch. It is on Main Street not far from the Pine Near RV park. read more

Stayed at site #11 in a motorhome with 50 amp. service. Very nice staff, very nice, grassy site and good wi-fi. Had a 7 year old with us and she had a great time running through the sprinklers with other kids. Easy walk to town.Will return for sure. read more
