We had afternoon shade over our motorhome, and full hookups, so we were mostly happy. Try to get one of the pull-through sites, though, if you can. The Marina has a boat dock, a wonderful swimming lagoon with a swimming dock, and the nicest camp hosts who keep a good watch over everything. Very quiet at night which is a real plus. The RV Park is in the town of Bridgeport, but most of the businesses in this poor town are shuttered. There are two small grocery stores, a coffee shop, a small restaurant or two, and a couple of parks, but not much else.

The service throughout the resort was also excellent. My husband attends a physical therapy conference here every year, and the staff always does a great job taking care of everyone and making the event run smoothly. The only downside would be that the rooms are starting to show their age. As a business owner myself, I completely understand that renovating and updating an entire property is a big financial decision. That said, it does feel like the rooms are reaching the point where a refresh would really elevate the experience. I imagine that will happen eventually. One of the highlights of the stay was the restaurant, which is just steps away from the rooms. We ate there multiple times and every single thing we ordered was really good. The quality of the food was consistently excellent and the servers were kind and attentive. They also had live music on Friday night, and the woman performing when we were there was incredibly talented and made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a great stay and would absolutely come back again. The location, views, service, and restaurant make it a really special place to visit in Lake Chelan.

All of this made up for some of the negatives... Overall the resort is a bit dated- the architecture gave us a very 70s motel feel with the layout and roof style. The doors to all of the rooms face the parking lot with stairs going up to the various floors. Our door didn't close or lock properly unless we pulled it shut. The interior of the rooms could definitely use a refresh-bathroom tiles, bath and shower, and room carpet need some love (as many others have noted). When we checked in we saw that two of the towels in the bathroom had stains on them which was pretty icky. Nothing you want to see when you're at a hotel, that's for sure. We had a room with a balcony that looked out at the lake and had us enjoying beautiful sunsets. On our second night the hotel got a bit busy and it's definitely on the louder side. The sun goes down pretty late and people were having fun on the beach until it got dark. Conversations from the hot tub and pool areas definitely carry as well. Overall it's a great location with nice amenities that make for a nice summer getaway but my fingers will be crossed that they do some renovations soon to make it worth the high summer prices. Overall, the location can't be beat and for some that may outweigh some of the negatives.

At that time we met Brian, the owner/outfitter, and were impressed with what he had to offer though we were just passing through at the time. We learned from his sidekick that the only reason the beautiful homes, cabins, and ranch at the south end of the lake weren't destroyed in the fire is that Brian and some helpers stayed to keep things watered down when official help wasn't. That's true grit. Fast track to now, and we were planning on staying in Chelan (about 40 minutes away) and I wanted to do some trail riding. I found the newly updated website (really well done - AltaLakeRanch) and contacted Tara, Brian's daughter, who has taken the reins of the ranch now that the Covid issues have passed. She returned my message immediately, something that sooooo many other riding places seem unable to do. She answers her phone. Long story short, we got two rides scheduled for early in the week. She does have a two rider minimum, like so many trail riding places. First two-hour ride ended up being just the two of us, and since I've had horses about forever we could take some of the steeper and rockier trails. This time I rode Bella, a draft/Friesian cross and a giant horse. These trails weren't the easiest, yet she never missed a beat. Since Bella hyper-enjoyed the spring grass, Tara did have to get off her horse to adjust (tighten) up Bella's cinch a few times around her round belly. Otherwise, the saddle fit me well. Tara was riding a young horse that wasn't "string" ready yet but still seemed very well trained to me. Dog Rip, already a great trail dog for his age, joined us. Second two-hour ride we had another person join us, not a regular rider though very fit. Tara asked if I wanted to ride her horse June from the day before (guess I passed the riding test!) so I rode third with her. Once she is on the official string she'll be a favorite as she is nicely trained, moved off the leg really well, was also very sure footed, and just was a pleasure to ride. Well, that plus she isn't a mile high like Bella. Tara rode June's sister, also a young horse in training, and she did great too. Got to add here that Tara knows her horses' quirks well and has appropriate tack for each horse and rider combo. It's awful trying to ride hilly ground on a saddle built for a giant that you slosh around in. This time we took different trails which were more suitable for less experienced riders and really enjoyed the scenery and mountain wildflowers. With 500 acres in this three-generation ranch and adjacent state land to ride on, there are lots of choices for riders from beginners to the more experienced. Reminder to people who don't ride regularly: don't start out with a long ride as you'll be using muscles you never thought you had. You'll realize that in 24 hours and beyond. I found two hours to be perfect for me. We haven't stayed in their campground or attended any equestrian events so I can't comment on that, though Tara is making improvements to the camping area and has more she is exploring. I'll be back to ride again and check on her upgrades as some of them sounded pretty cool.

They kept calling us on the day of arrival and again on the day we were leaving, which felt a bit excessive. I did appreciate the complimentary toothbrush and razor, though that was a nice touch. The kitchen amenities and sink area were also very nice and convenient. The biggest drawback was the smoke alarm beeping in the middle of the night. It really disrupted our sleep. I understand maintenance may have needed to come in, but I wasn't comfortable with someone entering while we were out or disturbing our privacy while we were inside I'm a bit particular about that when my belongings are in the room. Overall, the views were the highlight, but due to the outdated features, staff experience, and the alarm issue, our stay fell short of expectations.

The main bedroom sits directly against the outside walkway so you hear a lot of noise, if you open the window blinds everybody who walks by can look in & the AC unit cooled the room well but was obnoxiously noisy to run. The location is too far outside the town of Chelan which makes it a long unpleasant walk in the heat. I would still recommend this hotel, ideally not during such a busy weekend.

Product: We rented one of their oldest trailers, so I fully expected that it would be well used (although I wasn't expecting to see that one of the outlets had been completely fried. Yikes!). However, it was not clean. Turns out that we had a different standard of clean than the owners of this company. When a $75 cleaning fee is included in the rental agreement, I expect something to actually be in liveable condition. Bare feet turned black from the carpets, a fridge that smelled rotten upon arrival (we cleaned it out ourselves), dirty dishes and all counter tops had a residue, to name a few issues. The owner did tell us that it was deep cleaned annually. But, since we rented in August nearing the end of camping season, we got the short end of that stick. Also noted upon arrival was a horrible smell throughout the entire trailer. We immediately called the owners who stated it should dissipate within the day. It didn't and never did. Anyone who walked into our trailer mentioned it, including my 5 year old nephew, who doesn't currently possess a very picky sense of smell. Our main concern was the safety of my 4 month old niece who was also staying in this trailer. 2 days later she ended up being hospitalized at the local hospital, unable to keep anything down. The rest of us (3 adults) fell very ill, as well. We were at the campground with 12 other family members and no one else got sick, even though we hung out together all day long and shared meals. While we can't prove it was the trailer, it's awfully coincidental. We continued to stick it out, as this was our summer vacation and there were no refunds for either the campground or the RV. However, very late on the 4th night of our 7 day rental, I moved the garbage can to retrieve something and saw black mold on the wall. This was the last straw and we packed up and left the following day. The owner told me later that it was a residual stain from black mold a few years prior. However, it looked to have live spores and certainly did not appear to be treated. I was irritated that we found this out after the fact. 2. Customer Service: We ended up departing two days earlier than planned due to the discovery of the black mold patch and the fact the none of us felt well. The owners response to my email implied that I was a bit picky about the cleanliness of the trailer, and acted personally insulted that I would offer up a complaint. In my attempts to redeem a partial refund due to the aforementioned issues, I was shut down and told that they considered the case closed. Would not recommend. We were told by several other people at the campground to go with Freedom RV Rentals in Wenatchee instead.

The generator wasn't powering the trailer so we had no lights, no AC, or refrigerator and no running water. So basically we rented a hot box for the weekend and still had to use the porta potty. All of our food that we brought for the weekend (that we intended on putting in the refrigerator) was completely ruined. Luckily we had friends that had extra food so that we didn't starve. We ended up sleeping in our rental car because the trailer was too hot to sleep in. The owner, Shari was very unprofessional and responded to us when we complained that nothing was working at one point with "whatever." I asked her for a refund and she came up with excuses as to why we wouldn't be getting a refund. I feel like this is totally unfair because it basically ruined our whole weekend, that we spent A LOT of money on. This is a warning, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.
