The rack rate here is $15 for 9 holes, and $25 for 18 (it's 9 holes, so you'd just do two laps). But watch for deals - you can often find the 10am rate for $10. What disappointed me there was the $10 "convenience fee" booking online with them. I did an end-around and booked via Teeoff.com and saved that fee. Whatever you do, it's a pretty decent deal to walk 9 holes "in town". Course quality is okay. The layout is cool - for an executive course (3 par 4s, 6 par 3s), it's got a lot of character. Mature trees, some elevation change, a little water, and some well-placed bunkers give you more to think about than just the pin position. The condition is the "okay" part - some of the more-used parts of the fairway (like, around 220 yards out where many drives land) was full of crabgrass. While not ideal, you're still golfing in town, so you deal with it. This isn't U-Ridge! People - I was greeted by a friendly fellow in the clubhouse. He saw me in the system let me know me and my friends could get out a little early if we wanted to. Very nice and helpful. In short - this isn't a bad little course if you don't want to leave town to scratch that golf itch. If you're looking for the class 18-hole adventure with cart and a well-stocked clubhouse bar, you'll want to go somewhere else and pay up. But this is a nice little slice of nature right in town, and it gets the job done.

For me, the best feature is a large 18-hole disc golf course and for this purpose, Margreth Riemer Reservoir really delivers. This course has a perfect mix of hills, grasses, trees, bushes, and large bodies of water for the small chance that you may lose your disc (fortunately, there's plenty of area between the course and water, so you'll have to throw quite off the mark for it to land in there). The only thing I dislike about the park is the confusing parking, but it's not too bad once you've been there once. Definitely worth a visit if you live in the area, and a great place to get some disc golf practice.

The course starts off very long for amatures but as it goes along it becomes interesting and challenging for both players. I think my favorite hole was the one in the front nine which has a bunch of thin trees close together between the pad and the chains. It was really fun and interestingly different than other courses I've played. This was fairly easy to find your discs if you got off the beaten path.

Some residents who were camped out on a front 9 today…read moreplaying with their dog on the fairway, blocked the hole and refused to move so we could play through. This is a taxpayer funded course right (??), so I'm not entirely sure how that grants the rights to adjacent neighbors to camp out and use it as a dog park and then report people who get angry about their game being blocked in return, because they can't finish their game. And I just want to clarify, that if we want to go throw on a course, and there are people blocking us from playing the course because it's a dog park at that particular time of day that they have deemed works best for them, then we need to just ignore their entitlement and go to the next hole?? Would you do that to someone on a regular golf course?? I think NOT. Guessing the police deal with this entitlement on the regular based on what they said after they were called. 3 stars are because the course is amazing, but the entitled neighbors and their stupid dog can get bent.

My home disc golf course and as with much time as I've been disc golfing lately, this might be my…read morehome away from home. Nestled in the beautiful Root River Parkway near the Oak Leaf Trail, this course can be hard to find. The easiest way is to take Forest Home Avenue and when you reach 92nd Street, head south and you'll hit North Root River Parkway, where in a short distance you'll see hole 1 on your left. Hole 2 is across the foot bridge. While the water doesn't come into play on this course, the woods do. Make sure and take care when you're throwing your favorite disc, as it can easily be gobbled up by the brush. This comes into play on the later holes. This course is ran by a very dedicated group of volunteers who recently put in concrete tees and made many improvements to the course. There's a lot of TLC from the volunteers here so make sure to clean up after yourself and keep this course beautiful. Also when you're throwing, take a quick look around for wildlife. There's a doe who lives here with her two young fawns that are spotted on the course frequently. As a matter of fact, I ran into them on Sunday at the hole with the uphill shot (15 maybe?). Nothing will make you feel worse than hitting Bambi's Mom upside her head with your Innova Destroyer so let her do her thing. Just remember you're a guest in her home. Leagues are played here Wednesday night I believe. I'm still comically so bad at throwing a disc that I can't play with anyone yet. All in due time. I love this course, and I hope it's here for years to come.
