Decided to come on Tuesday night. Arrived about 5:45pm. No crowd. No line. Drove straight in. Pretty happy about that. We used the $5 off coupon we got from the newspaper back on black Friday. So we paid a total of $15. They also provided us with a journal called "The Wrapping Paper" and some peppermints upon payment. We didn't get any kettle corn or hot chocolate for we had an early dinner that day. This was our first time coming to Glittering Lights so we brought the whole house with us. We drove slowly through the tunnels of lights while listening to the Christmas music radio station 105.5. A little late on this, but when you've been in a food coma post-Thanksgiving, you get what you get lol. Anyway! Since we made the mistake of trying to visit the lights the week before Christmas last year (ahem, we didn't move a wink for two hours, which back then with an almost toddler and a newborn equaled me wanting to walk into oncoming traffic) we decided to give the Santa Tram a try this year. Best. Decision. Ever!! We purchased tickets for the day after Thanksgiving for 5pm. Also pre-purchased the hot cocoa and popcorn family pack which was delish! We were one of the first people to arrive, so parking and check-in was super easy. Our tram was a couple minutes late which was totally fine because we got to take pictures with Santa! Lots of cute fun games for the kiddos and even a little train ride for them to enjoy. Fast forward to the tram ride. Ya'll, you have to do this! The ease of not having to deal with annoying people who don't dim their tail lights, drive too slow, or get rowdy riding in the bed of their trucks (no shade, but come on people) was well worth it! Our driver gave us a nice smooth ride, we got to see all of the lights and my family loved it! The best part of it all was the live Nativity scene (go Jesus!) that brought tears to my eyes. So cute to hear my oldest say "we love you Jesus" in his tiny voice. But I digress... At the end our ride dropped us back where we started, and it was literally steps to our car and out we went. The only thing we were missing was a little Christmas music, but it was nice to hear all the kiddos bursting at the seams with excitement of all the lights. 5 star for the fast pass tickets! Our pass was for 12/11/21 arrival time from 7:30-8:30 pm. We have been to glittering lights in the past and know the lines can get long so we opted to buy the $55 admission for one vehicle along with the fast pass. We decided pop ourselves some popcorn and bring our own hot chocolate for a contactless evening. Took I15N to exit 54 and make sure you stay to the right. After you pass the street "Check Flag Blvd" you will get in the furthest right lane (wish there was a sign but we figured it out) and you drive until you see an employee (very friendly staff) and/or make it to the front. They will turn you around if you don't have the correct tickets. After they scan your pass, you will either go in the left lane to buy concessions or the right lane to go to the front of the line to drive thru. Turn off your headlights and enjoy! Out visiting my family for Thanksgiving. I'm from CA and have always been a huge fan of the Del Mar Fairgrounds light show--was disappointed when they took it away--so I was very happy to come out and see this light display! SO much better than the Del Mar show. However, as many other reviewers have stated, the lines are ridiculous. We got in line off the freeway at 6:45 pm 11/27 with a window of 7-8pm. By the time we had our ticket scanned, it was 8:15. Keep in mind, we had a fastpass. The experience was worth it but only if you have a fastpass--there was a van next to us in line when we split into the fastpass lane, and on our way out we spotted it in line still, and no where near the front. To the coordinators: there needs to be a better set up. We followed instructions printed on ticket and were in the right lane right off the freeway. That lane abruptly ended with NO ONE guiding us/telling us? That alone caused a huge backup. There needs to be people stopping cars at some point off the freeway checking tickets and directing people into lanes. There needs to be a dedicated fastpass lane from the get-go, too. I understand that last night was considered a holiday and was going to be busy, but we had a fastpass and still ended up waiting for over 2 hours to get in. We go every year and always have a nice time. Definitely go earlier in the easy and earlier in the night to avoid long waits. This year we decided to try the Santa Tram and were able to get discounted tickets on Groupon. Santa Tram is definitely worth it, especially if you have little ones. Parking is great. Santa is there and you can take photos and he interacts with the kids, no time limit. You can pay a little extra for hot cocoa and kettle corn. There's games to play while you wait for the tram ride...corn hole, large connect 4, etc. Some nice photo opp spots, large inflatables, etc. There's also a little train for kids to ride. The ride operator let us stay on as long as wanted. There was no line. And everything is included in the price of admission. Then you ride the tram around in the lights. It's a totally different experience than being in the car and it's awesome. Dress warm and bring blankets because it's chilly. The only thing is I wish you could hear the Christmas music playing but it was still great. My only suggestion is the fast pass line and the Santa tram area are not separated. So if you have little ones running around they're right by the cars going thru the fast pass line and that made me nervous. Also, designated handicap parking. No one seemed to know if there was any and we saw no markings. We were able to park close enough that it wasn't an issue, but for same later in the night it may become a problem. And the waiting in line, gives you time to get your spirit disposed to pure, simple amusements--and WHY are you in a hurry when doing something like this?? Come a night when you are free! Visiting Glittering Lights at the Speedway is a great Christmas Day tradition. Thank you to the Boy Scouts and troop leaders for volunteering and spreading cheer on Christmas Day. My family of 6 drove up to Glittering Lights around 8:30PM and were able to drive straight through. With a $26 Groupon, we received admission and 4 hot cocos. We purchased an additional hot coco for $2. The ride through Glittering Lights took about ~25 minutes due to congested traffic. I was okay with the delay though because it gave us more time to appreciate all the lights. My favorite part of the experience is driving through the 3+ tunnels. Each section of lights is sponsored by a different company, like the Wynn or the Review Journal, each with their own themes. I was partial to the butterfly, underwater, and construction themes. My lame 8 year old brother fell asleep on the ride through. My 2 year old brother, however, was squealing with delight the entire time. I'd say Glittering Lights is great for the whole family. We love the Glittering Lights at the Las Vegas Speedway, and we go every year! They transform the entire racetrack into a glittering wonderland and you drive through while listening to Christmas music. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five - is if you go on a weekend night during prime time --- it's a long wait. However, if you go during the week there's no lines at all. In addition, every year they hold the Christmas PJ 5K run/1 mile walk where you get to walk/run through the course instead of driving it. THIS IS THE BEST!!!! They hold this event in November and all the proceeds go to charity. My photos are from this event and my family walks/runs the course. They sell hot chocolate and cookies out there too. We have an annual tradition to visit the Glittering Lights, and my children always love it. They are still young, (5 & 8) and are always in awe of the lights. It's not terribly long to drive through....maybe 20 minutes. If you go after 6pm there is usually a bit of a wait, so we always go right at a opening. We enjoy the hot chocolate, the songs on the radio, and the warmth of our van. Without any children, I probably wouldn't make the trek all the way up to the speedway, but for the kiddos, we love to go. My love of the lights come not from the lights themselves, but from the joy it brings my kids. As an adult with no children in tow, I would probably prefer the Magical Forest. But until my children outgrow the Glittering Lights, we will continue to come every year. read more

Waited almost an hour just to get in and an hour to go through it. (Since cars were slow) Lines are so inefficient. You go to one line then another then another! I've been coming here for years! And I have always had a good experience. This year was terrible. When we arrived the radio station for the music didn't work, customers ahead of us parked in the middle of the road and expected us to work around them, and the whole experience felt short. I'm not sure if there was less lights this year but I defiantly felt this year was not how it use to be. I reached out to the manager of the facility named John. John was unprofessional, unfriendly, and appeared to not take his job seriously. I called for feedback and a refund and John stated to me: I sounded like someone who didn't have anyone to talk and that why I'm talking to him. Completely unprofessional. I would hope a manager would take feedback seriously. But unfortunately John was a joke of a manager and I understand why this year fell short. Who would've thought the best lights in Vegas aren't at a casino?!?! My family has come to the Vegas Glittering Lights twice now, both while my husband was visiting my family (who live in Vegas full-time). What a treat! Definitely off the beaten path of going to The Strip or Freemont Street. As my mom puts it, "WOW- you really get a steal for your admission. Can you imagine the time and effort that goes into putting those lights up? Or the electric bill???" Do you know those end-of-year car sales commercials where the car drives through a full tunnel of flashing Christmas lights? Well now you can do the same!!! It's truly magical to drive through the speedway lit up with several scenes. We looked on the map when we got home- the 2016 show features 52 separate scenes! All more impressive than the next. On that note, the entertainment value is definitely worth your car full. We always bring donations for Goodwill, so admission drops to $20/car. You know what I love about the Holidays? The memories you make and the traditions you build. It's these things that are priceless and last a lifetime. What I love about the Holidays in Las Vegas is that there is so much to do. One of the highlights beautiful Las Vegas has to offer is the Glittering Lights at the Las Vegas Speedway. There are employees with light batons once you get close to the entry to help guide you in. Once you pull into the driveway Goodwill is there with their truck so you can drop off any donations. I actually loved this because I had a couple of bags of stuff I had been meaning to drop off at Goodwill, so I was able to do good and have a good time with my family. Once you get to the booth, you can pay for your vehicle to get and then a little further ahead is the boy scouts offering goods such as hot chocolate, apple cider and other items. We purchased the hot chocolate, apple cider and snowflake glasses. I didn't think my hot chocolate was going to be good, but I slurped that sucker down. It wasn't watered down at all and was very smooth and chocolaty. The lights themselves are beautiful. Yes, there are sponsorships and you will see names of companies but the lights are fun. My son kept oohing and ahhing at everything. His eyes would light up every time he saw a new light. He enjoyed all the lights from the trucks, to the dinosaurs and dragons, to the snowmen and Christmas trees. Drive Slow. Take it all in, appreciate the memories you are making and enjoy the holidays for what they should be about - love and family. We had a Yelp evening here Monday night and it was a pleasure to drive around the Speedway and enjoy the lights. I like the tunnel of lights section and it's fun driving under the stands by the concrete pillars and looking at the various designs. Some of the hotel sponsors' lights were quite nice. Christmas in Vegas? This should get you in the spirit! 20 or so themed light displays and you get to drive through the Las Vegas Speedway? Quite a unique experience. I read all the descriptions and news articles before coming and got real excited. Is it must see? I wouldn't go that far. Some of you will like this more than I did. Maybe I have high standards and have been fazed by all the people who go crazy on their houses during Christmas time... installing waving figures, ski lifts, shimmering lights, moving train sets, live music, and maybe even a visit from a real life Santa. It's not that elaborate here. You get all sorts of scenes, some Christmas related, some not so much. Elvis? Check. 12 Days of Christmas? Check. 3 wise men? Check. A lit McDonald's sign? Check. A castle sponsored by Yelp? Check. All of these are lit, but there aren't any moving parts or special effects. The most you get for effects is shimmering light tunnels that you drive through (pretty cool). None of the scenes overwhelmed me. It was $20 a car on the weekends ($15 Monday-Thursday), but I got a $2 discount for donating a bag of goods to the Goodwill collection truck located at the entrance. After you pay, there's a drive through station where you can buy little car snacks like popcorn, candy, and hot chocolate. They also have a dedicate station on onsite that you can turn your radio to to hear themed music while you're driving through. It takes about 30-45 minutes to drive through the whole thing, unless you have a really slow cars in front of you. Like racing on the Speedway, you can pass the slowbies on the turn if you rev up to 15 miles per hour. My advice? Take your time, because it doesn't last as long as the map makes it seem. In the end... worth doing if you have free time and are looking for something holiday themed to take your kids or sweetie too. Or you could just walk the flower garden at Bellagio and save yourself $20 and a 20 minute drive out of the city. read more

Here is a break down of my review: 1) I appreciated your effort for putting this together during a pandemic, so family could still enjoy this annual tradition. 2) My kids enjoyed it. 3) A lot of reviews has suggested snacks and entertainments, it would be nice if someone was selling them along the way of that 3-hour wait instead of all the way at the entrance, which slow down the traffic even more. Maybe Carol singers along the way to break the boredom? 4) Suggestions: while people are waiting in their cars (before the right turn to the ticket area), there could be staff selling tickets with portable devices, at the same time ask if they want to make a donation, put proof of ticket and donation by the windshield, maybe give them free cocoa later for their donations. It's a lot of effort to go from 3 lanes to a single lane, then break that again into to 4-5 lanes just to buy tickets, snacks, and donations, then later on merge back into one lane to enter. A lot of potentials around the areas where we waited, besides portable bathrooms. 5) Live wait time on website would be nice, so we could decide before leaving the house. 6) A lot of efforts had been put together and ultimately, you want people to enjoy it and appreciate that effort. It is definitely hard to switch that excitement around and feel festive and delightful after 3-hr wait with 2 whining toddlers/kids (with only 1 bag of snack) read more

If you want to see some christmas lights but want to stay warm, this is for you. It's a drive thru. How convenient. It's about 20 minutes away from the main strip near race track/stadium. The cost is $20 but if you pay through Yelp it's$16. They also sell drinks and snacks. They have many sponsors which I think it's awesome. Some of the light decorations were neat like the square tunnel. They do ask you to turn off your headlights so drive carefully. You'll see/hear caroling as you enter the light entrance. Oh yeah, Yelp was one of the sponsor too! Be sure to use the bathroom before you come because you have to jump out and in as cars are slowly moving at the entrance. Not safe. This was the worse Christmas light display / show I have ever been to or seen. My 7 year old daughter was so bored with it, she turned on her ipad 1/4 of the way through it. I could not blame her. If you are thinkking about going, find a nice neighborhood where they have decorations. I am sure it will be less crowded and have better live displays. This was absolutely a waste of time and money. Go to Fremont street and you will enjoy the display much more. If you do not heed my advice then also waste the additional cost on the fast pass, total confusion on how that was monitored . I've come to Glittering lights for the past 3 years as it quickly became a tradition in my family. Though this tradition was ruined this past Saturday as after I got into the wrong line as there where two men directing traffic. One of the men came up to my vehicle and said did you buy a Tesla to let it control you. I'm not expecting it to be Disney service, but at least some people to know at a family event maybe you shouldn't be rude. While I didn't think the light displays were spectacular, some of them were stunning, and they and the accompanying music did put my carload of 5 in a festive holiday mood. I was ready for Hot Chocolate at the end of our journey, but not at the beginning, when they were offered for sale. The guide map was helpful in announcing what was coming next, but a few times we had already passed a location before we spotted it. I liked the longest tunnel of lights and the moving lit Viva Elvis figure best. All in all, I thought the tariff of $15 per weekday carload was worth the expenditure, and look forward to repeating this in future years so long as the light displays do not remain substantially the same. I recommend that Glittering Lights be seen at least once by those who welcome and embrace the holiday season. read more

What a fun experience!! My fiancé and I have been wanting to check out Glittering Lights at the LV Motor Speedway for years. Because of Covid, we figured that it would be a great opportunity to finally see the lights this holiday season with safe social distancing in place. We purchased the Groupon deal for $31.50 that includes admission for one car and 4 hot cocoas, which is a reasonable price in my opinion. We came on Monday night (after the Christmas holiday) around 6 pm and didn't wait long at all. I would say we waited for about 5-10 minutes only because you have to show your ticket or pay admission to the staff at the entrance. We were extremely surprised about the short wait because most of the Yelp reviews on here all said they waited for hours. We even brought snacks and drinks in anticipation of waiting but we didn't even have to take them out because of the short wait. The staff were very friendly and greeted us. They were all wearing masks. They instructed us to turn off our car lights for a better view while driving through the speedway. They also provided us a radio station that played Christmas music. Once we passed the entrance, we approached the next stop where the Boy Scouts were selling snacks and drinks as a fundraiser- like kettle corn, hot cocoa, etc. We received our hot cocoa and it was pretty good. Driving through the motor speedway and seeing all the wonderful holiday lights was amazing! Every turn we made was a different theme of beautiful lights. It was so cool to see the display of lights all while enjoying our hot cocoa and listening to Christmas music. Although all of the lights were spectacular, our favorite displays would have to be the under the sea theme, LV sign, and the light tunnels. It took us about 45 min to drive through the speedway. Overall, my fiancé and I had a great time!!! We both agreed that we're now going to make this a family tradition every year. Thank you to Speedway Vegas for holding this event. Go on Groupon to get a discounted ticket. We went here on Jan 31st at about 7pm and as promised it wasn't very busy. We were able to roll through, not even press the gas, sort of roll, and really take in the sights. It actually was such a long display that my car mates were itching to leave the place. There were so many different themes, my favorites were the pink fairy-like lights and the simpsons display toward the end. My kids also spotted Dr Seuss' Grinch and some WhoVille characters. read more

We visited this last night on a Saturday at 9 p.m. I was expecting it to be busy but definitely not an hour and a half wait busy just to get to the front. HEADS UP: From the point where it splits from Fast Pass to Regular admission it is an hour and half wait (if it is backed up from there). If you can't commit to waiting that long turn around immediately. I saw a car stay in the 3 lane slow paced line for 45 minutes until it decided to turn around and leave. We got the Groupon deal for $20 (which included 4 hot cocos). Normally, it's $30 a vehicle. The actual driving through the lights is roughly about 35 minutes. They have a radio station specifically for this similar to 106.5 that plays nothing but Christmas songs. You're in a line of cars riding their brakes and some cars that even keep their headlights on when they tell you to turn it off. As for the lights, it was okay. I'd have the same feel driving down the Vegas strip for the first time ... If you plan on visiting now ... it's considered their busy time even on the week days. The staff member we asked recommended to arrive as soon as they open up at 5 to beat the rush. It's good for a one time family experience. Next year, I'll just drive my kids around our neighborhood and see lights. read more

Don't bother going...... it's a 3hour wait in your car so gas up. We waited so long we were running out of gas. The light decorations were pretty much stencils that were traced with lights. There is no creativity. Also there was so much marketing from business that the business logos were part of the lights. It seemed so tacky because it felt more like a long commercial. I guess if you donate lights you can market your business. It takes away from the Christmas spirit. read more
