I visited the property again because I was having second thoughts about moving downtown, but Kelvin completely reassured me that the building is safe, clean, and a place where my daughter and I would truly enjoy living. Two years here. This is long, but if you're thinking about signing a lease, read it. Start with maintenance, because that's where it started for me. The toilet in my unit was leaking and running from the day I moved in. Maintenance came out three separate times over a month -- each ticket marked completed, each time still leaking. I ended up fixing it myself. My first water bill? Over 12,000 gallons in 27 days. A running toilet they couldn't fix three times, and the water it wasted got billed to me. My front door had a broken lock for over a year. I asked repeatedly. Nothing -- until I sent a formal written demand, and even then it took another month to replace the door. A year of asking about a security issue, resolved only when it arrived on letterhead. The refrigerator was the same story: multiple requests before anyone fixed it. At one point I had water coming through a light fixture inside my apartment. I've filed over ten maintenance requests. There's black mold and a ceiling leak in the community room right now. And when a sewer pipe was leaking in the parking lot, I reported it and nothing happened -- it got fixed only after a complaint went to the health department, and the area was never even washed down afterward. See the pattern? Nothing gets handled until it becomes official. Which brings me to the bills. Utilities go through a third party called Conservice. When I finally read mine line by line: a "water heating" charge run through a formula I couldn't find in my lease, sewer billed above LADWP's own factor, a trash hauler named on the bill that isn't the franchise hauler for this zip code, admin fees on top. I asked for the underlying invoices. Conservice told me in writing they can't produce the trash invoices because management keeps those in-house -- the company billing me admitted it doesn't hold the documents behind the charges. Management didn't respond to the demand at all. When documents finally came, they were heavily redacted, first pages only. Neighbors compared bills and found the same charges -- one unit was billed hundreds of dollars for hot water while its meter read zero for ten straight months. So we filed complaints with LA Housing and LA County Weights & Measures. The County inspected and ordered submeters from this building sent out for lab testing. Mine was removed -- and months later, it still has never arrived at the County for testing. The meter that was supposed to prove whether my bills were accurate is just gone. Around the same time, the building posted a "mandatory meter replacement" notice. And after all this started, a lease violation notice showed up on my door. The location is convenient. That's the whole pro list. If you sign here anyway: photograph everything at move-in, submit every request in writing, read the utility addendum word for word, request full PDFs of every bill including the rate page, and keep all of it. I live at Glo @ 1050 Wilshire Blvd, which I truly love and had a refrigerator problem. We had a Service Tech named Jesus Flores that evaluated the refrigerator and stated it should be replaced since this was the 2nd service call after repairs and it was still leaking a lot of water. So we received a new refrigerator but our experience with Jesus was amazing. He was detailed in explaining the problem and how long it would take for a new refrigerator. I'm my initial review, I failed to mention how great the actual apartment complex is. When first arriving at the property the neighborhood appeared to be on the up and up! Line so many neighborhoods in DTLA, the area may not be in the "epicenter"of all of the downtown attractions and activity, but is close enough to access it all, without all of the noise and traffic. The 2 bedroom unit we looked at was both spacious ( 1000 square feet +) and layout was great. It allowed for a combination of both the open floor plan feel but enough separation, to allow for a dining area that was not in the middle of the living room. The bedrooms were spacious, with good closet space. The kitchen area was well appointed with modern appliances and the bathrooms were spacious. The property has amenities that rival some of the more expensive luxury buildings we looked at. There is a nice size pool, there is a separate patio area, and there is a resident lounge equipped with a kitchen. But what really stood out were the next two features! They have a 2 story gym, that is well equipped with modern workout equipment and little hidden gem known as the "Library ". Tucked away in a corner of the parking level, this area has an open space with tables and booths designed for both studying and working remotely. Additionally, in the back of this space are several private rooms with doors where you can meet with colleagues or conduct remote work meetings in private! Glo is a gem! With 2 bedrooms/ 2 bath tents between $2600-$2700 per month, it is definitely a place that you should consider if looking to live to DTLA! read more

Had 2 people try to enter my unit. Security did nothing. I have multiple packages go missing. The office team blames the carriers but the office locks the package room door at 6pm via deadbolt. The office staff will not take accountability for the anything delivered after that time. Residents will hold the door open for anyone so the building is unsafe. The security is a walking patrol that is shared with another building and they will not do anything if you call the security line. Homeless will sleep in the stair and break into cars. I had my car broken into in March and the property refused to show me the videos tho they say they can see it. read more

Maintenance and management did all in their power to make it a pleasant stay but they can only do so much. The building is a bit dated. Heavy homeless and drug addiction present in the area that made it feel unsafe to start a family in. My wife & I welcomed a newborn into our family and decided against staying. Packages frequently went missing. Lots of break-ins. Vandalism and theft within the building. Several instances homeless were discovered living on the roof of the building. Sean and Solie have been very helpful , friendly and attentive whenever I have questions or need help . I really appreciate the efficient communication and them always keeping us up to date with everything happening in our community. I also thoroughly enjoy all of the community mixer events . Taco Tuesday was a hit . It is also a great way to connect with our neighbors. I would also like to shout out the maintenance team , specifically Tony . He is knowledgeable and efficient. After four plus years of living at Glo I still love this building and community! Location is perfect, easy fast access to the freeways, 7th Street Metro hub at a five minute walk and I love living on this side of downtown, a bit quieter and calmer, but still right by all the things you want to enjoy in DTLA. The management and staff at Glo are phenomenal, always friendly, professional and quick to respond to and solve any issue that may arise. I lived in Glo for three years. This was my first LA apartment, and while I love my new neighborhood, I'll always have fond memories of Glo. Believe me, I wouldn't have renewed my lease twice if I didn't like it there. The best thing about Glo is the staff. I've seen a few people come and go over my time there and everyone who has ever worked in the office is awesome. Helpful, friendly, and they really go above and beyond when you have an issue. They all deserve raises for some of the stuff I've seen them deal with. Maintenance staff are top notch and very quick to respond - I never waited more than a day for service. The cleaning staff are awesome too, seemed like they were always cleaning common areas and the street out front. My apartment itself was nice. I had a large 1 bedroom and, while I'd appreciate an additional closet, I really have no other complaints. The appliances are getting a little dated but they always worked. I never heard my neighbors on the sides of me but I did hear my upstairs neighbors every day. Such is apartment living. Speaking of apartment living, there were of course some negatives, none of which I think are unique to Glo. I appreciate the security offered with a fobbed building but there is no way to buzz people in, making getting a pet sitter when you're out of town really difficult. Also, while I was never worried about safety in my own apartment, common areas were a different story. Car break ins were an occasional issue, and I had an on site storage unit get robbed - definitely do not rent storage here. The elevators are slow and wonky and would sometimes break down. Water would need to be shut off for repairs more often than seems normal. Also, in a building this size, with this many tenants, there will be issues with disrespectful neighbors. My balcony overlooked the pool, which was lovely, but pre Covid people would host large loud parties at times management wasn't on site that were pretty obnoxious. Security always ensured the pool was cleared out by 10pm though. Overall, if you're looking for a pet friendly building downtown with large units a bit away from the action, you could do a lot worse than Glo. The staff are really the best part. read more

I have lived in the Glo Apartments going on 4 years now and though some things have changed and some people have moved on, the one consistent thing I have experienced is the staff. They are professional and helpful, but also understand your privacy. Apartment living means sometimes things need fixing. In my 3+ years I have had some few issues but ALWAYS has the maintenance team been there when I needed them. I totally give shout outs to Christian and Dallas. Both have 'come to my rescue' over holidays, weekends and evenings. And, as always, they are courteous and solicitous of my privacy and well being. The front office houses Shawn & Sollie. Both have saved my @ss on a couple of occasions. Sollie especially. I work from home and my work can be intense where I don't look up for hours and I can't take the time to go up to the lobby, which leads to the next thing: I get deliveries regularly. Some of those require signature or special instruction. I think you get the picture. They go out of the way to help, when they can (they have other duties as well, you know). As for the anemities, pool, jacuzzi, large community room with several gaming platforms (foosball included!), which can be used for private events, such as wedding receptions or b-day parties and the tenants respect this. There are also two stories of work out facility in Building B. There are new restaurants now sprouting up directly in the area (5 mins walk) after the pandemic closed several, as well as the dozens of established restaurants about a 15-20 minute walk to Figuroa (hey...I'm old lol) for Steak joints (Flemmings, Mortons, Fago), Sushi (Sugarfish), Italian, Irish, Fusion, etc. It's a 20 min walk to Cryto (Staples Center) and a 15 min ride on Uber to Dodger Stadium. You are at freeway hub of So Cal with the 110, 101, 10 going in all directions. One last thing I want to mention... Shawn, the Community Manager, is very interactive. Prior to the pandemic, it was sort of easy to meet people in the building; people weren't afraid of each other back then, but post pandemic, things are a bit more 'keep to yourself'. Shawn started setting up Community Meets which entail a midweek afternoon-evening with food and drinks and entertainment in the Community Center or in the Leasing Lobby. I think this is a terrific idea and has already allowed people to start relaxing around each other again. read more
