Please, please, please beware. I was a diligent patient and "friend" of Carmen's for the past five years. Eight days before my wedding, I went in for my normal procedures. I was talked into getting the plasma pen done to make my lip area look smoother and fuller. Carmen knew that my wedding was in eight days, but assured me that everything would be perfect. Three days after the procedure, I noticed what I thought to be a cold sore. I texted Carmen right away, but she never responded. She finally responded once I called her unprofessional, which in turn she called me a jerk!!! (See screenshots and photos). Fast forward to the Thursday before my wedding when she finally texted and asked about my face. It turns out I had a staph infection on my face. I don't want to say that my wedding was completely ruined, but my face was all I thought about. My makeup artist did as well as possible. I asked for my money back but was denied. It was very disappointing and depressing, especially since Carmen referred to me as a friend. But guess what? Friends don't treat each other this way. I've had several microdermabrasions here and have been very happy with them. I find the staff friendly and easy going. This is a small business tucked away in a small business park. I did use a groupon and was treated as if I'd been a client for years. The experience is relaxing and my skin looks better than it did in my 20's. I will continue to return and encourage others to do the same. Just to note, if you're looking for a high end day spa with painful pricing, this may not be for you. Expect a clean and professional atmosphere with down to earth employees. read more

1st time at Glo and I am in amazement. The Spa is absolutely gorgeous. Carmin is the sweetest most knowledgeable professional I've ever met. I went in for a consult after a not so good experience at another Spa, Carmin spent time talking and explaining everything to me. She fixed & touched up my treatment at zero cost. I have been going to Glo Skin care since last year. At the time I had large pores and oily skin. I am glad to say my skin has never looked this gorgeous. My pores are smaller and my skin is no longer oily. Yeah!! As a woman of color I had no issues entrusting my skin care in the hands of Amy and Carmen. When I call with questions or appointment changes I have always been accommodated. When I go for my appointments I am greeted with a smile and treated as a valued customer. My last visit was on 2/16/2018. I would highly recommend Glo Skin Care. Amy and Carmen's level of professionalism and expertise in all skin types has exceed my expectations. read more

I don't usually do this, but I have to leave my honest review. I purchased a Groupon for a chemical peel from Glo Skin Care. I was looking forward to receiving this service, but I eventually had to ask Groupon for a refund. We scheduled an appointment, and I was informed on the day of the proposed service that the "esthetician" has strep throat and was at the doctor's office. We rescheduled the service for 2 weeks later, which was already inconvenient for me because I have a job in the legal field that requires me to meet with clients and go to court. The day of my 2nd rescheduled appointment, I was on my way to Glo Skincare, and I called to inform them that I was running 5 minutes late. Amy, who I believe is the receptionist, told me that her and the esthetician, whose name is Carmen, were out of town for a training, which I find to be repulsive and unprofessional because no one thought to contact me to let me know. Not to mention, I had just received a confirmation email the previous day, and I am pretty sure that they knew about this training prior to that. Then Amy tried to make it seem like someone was supposed to contact me to reschedule and she made up some lie about how her and Carmen spoke and were going to do the service free of charge... But, no one followed up with me on that, so I ended up asking Groupon for a refund. I am quite shocked that this even occurred, the level of unprofessional, and I honestly feel like I was treated differently because I am a person of color, or perhaps because I was using a Groupon. I absolutely LOVE GLO. Carmen has helped me more than any dermatologist or skin care facility. I've struggled with acne for over 8 years. I tried so many products & skin care regimens to no avail & had given up when I went to Carmen for a microderm abrasion (part of a Groupon my sister got for me). She has since worked with me over the course of a year to manage & drastically reduce my acne & acne scarring. The results have been incredible! Carmen cares so much for her patients & is incredibly knowledgeable. Over the time that I've been going to her, I've gotten to see just how much she is constantly investing in ways to improve the services that she can offer. I've also gotten to learn how incredibly hectic her schedule is as a mother, business owner, & service provider. I say this because it is best to be flexible & understanding, in general, and prepared to wait to be seen, as you would in most doctors offices. You won't necessarily have any wait, but she will spend the time attending to her patients & this is a great thing - you will benefit from this! So, if you have to wait, understand that the next time, it may be you that she is taking the same extra care & time to help. She works her tail off & does an incredible job. Yes, the services are expensive, but that's because they are INCREDIBLY valuable. Also, the equipment & products are expensive to provide & I know that medical spas being unable to bill for insurance means that they cannot collect nearly the profit most people would assume (my friend's mom also owns a medical spa in Philly so I've learned some of the challenges these providers face from her). My point is that the care from Carmen is unparalleled in my experience (& I've been to a number of high-end skin care specialists, including 2 of the top plastic surgeons in the East Coast for help with my skin). She is incredibly honest, fair, & talented with her work. So, if you want the best results, plan to invest the time & money in the services that Carmen believes will work for you & you WILL see incredible results.
