I came to Global Chiropractic after Manny (my FABULOUS massage therapist) moved here. The massage work that Manny does every week helps both my body and mind. He is a master at deep tissue and trigger point therapy. I do not need to tell him where I need him to do work because he knows anatomy and muscle structure incredibly well. It makes my job as a patient much easier! Doctor Sorouri is one of the first chiropractors that I do not feel is trying to "push" me into doing things that I do not want to do. He is patient, knowledgeable and a great guy. I appreciate his approach. My insurance has made billing a pain, but Christy works with me and helps me find answers all of my questions. I have been coming here for about three years now. When I first came it was because my knee was messed up and I could no longer play basketball. After Dr. Mehran Sorouri analyzed how I walk and how I bend, he adjusted me and taught me some movements which helped me out immediately. He also fitted me with some custom orthotics. This coupled with therapeutic massages and I was back to doing what I love, playing basketball at a high level. Dr. Sorouri and the massage therapists, Gunther and Jennifer, got me back in the game, and I am forever grateful to them for that. Over the years I have had to come in for a variety of different reasons, and Dr. Sorouri and his staff have treated me effectively each and every time. When I pulled my back doing dead-lifts, Dr. Sorouri hooked me up to a TENS machine to increase blood flow and he showed me a stretch that would aide my recovery - It worked. When I sprained my ankle, Dr. Sorouri used a ultra sound and a graston technique to help break down the swelling and aide my recovery - It worked. When I came in the day before a basketball tournament, Dr. Sorouri gave me acupuncture and kinesio-taped my body up just so I could perform at my best level, it worked. All in all, you don't need to be in pain to come in and see Dr. Sorouri and the massage therapists. But if you have pain or if you believe you could be be moving around better, I highly recommend visiting Global Chiropractic and Rehab Center because they will take great care of you. Dr. Sorouri takes his time and treats the person as well as the injury that you may have. He's very personable and cares to learn about each person he treats. His schedule allows for him to be seen whether its morning, afternoon or evening. I've been seeing him for several years along with my wife who is currently pregnant. I have problems with my knees. I did pt somewhere else for 4 months. It made me have so much more pain. I started coming to Global and the doc helped me with accupunture for me knees. The pain is greatly reduced and is helping me get thru till I eventually have replacement surgery. I also have some neck issues he has helped. I started seeing Dr. Sorouri for pain I had around my right elbow. It wasn't going away and the pain started to become severe affecting my day to day routine. I stopped hitting the gym and was starting to gain some weight, which isn't good when you're planning on getting married in a few months. Who wants to be fat on a honeymoon? I'm a retired rugby player so I'm used to injury...So when the old rest, ice, compress and elevate didn't work, I knew I had a problem. The pain was obviously not going away and it was actually getting worse everyday...even with the downtime form the gym! I saw Dr. Sorouri and he did a thorough examination and determined that the pain was actually nerve pain from discs in my neck...I had an MRI and it confirmed that I had 2 herniated discs pinching and irritating the nerves giving me the pain that I had. I had no clue that a disc injury could give you pain in your arms and was freaked out that somehow I injured it...As bad as it sounded, Dr. Sorouri's confidence in treating this kind of problem put me at ease. He took the time to explain to me why I had the problem, how he was going to fix it and what I should do in the future to prevent it. He made me take an ACTIVE role in my treatment and put me on a home exercise program that within a few weeks took care of the problem. Right now I'm back to my regular routine, dropped 11 pounds and 100% PAIN-FREE! He and the others that work in the office are upbeat, positive and professional. Went in with some pain and left with less pain then I went in with and for that, I give it 5 stars as it accomplished what I needed. Candace is a rock star! Earlier today, I tweaked my back and it was a little tight. I call the same day and got in to see the massage therapist. I really didn't know what to expect, but when Candace started working on me, I knew I was going to be better. Candace was great! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a therapeutic massage. She was knowledgeable and was interactive with me. She answered all the questions I had about what might be the issue with my pain and she would let me know what muscles she was working on. Not that everyone needs to know that, but since I like to talk and learn about things, she was prefect to educate me. The clinic itself was professional and the staff was friendly. Dr. Mehran Sorouri has changed my life. That is not an over dramatization. I have suffered from Migraines for many years and have tried many, many treatments unsuccessfully. On a recommendation from a friend and colleague, I tried Global Chiropractic. Having never been to a chiropractor before, I didn't know what to expect. The first session included an extremely thorough discussion with Dr. Sorouri about my medical history, lifestyle, etc. Followed by some very deep tissue work, some adjustments and stretching and finally acupuncture. He also made a couple of recommendations of things I could do at home. He is very well educated and combines the different methods he is trained in for the most effective customized treatment. I am absolutely delighted that after 6 visits (within a two week period) I have not had a headache since I started going (unbelievable) and haven't had to go back. I have been to several Chiropractors in the past. One who claimed I was "too sensitive" to recieve his treatments. I heard about Dr. Mehran Sorouri through my hair stylist who also has been treated by him. I have numbness in my arms and neck pain. Dr. Sorouri understood that I was sensitive because I'm in pain. He took the time to examin me and gave me some exercises to do at home that actually worked for me! He is very gentle and has not hurt me. He has a great chairside manner and you can tell he loves what he does. Anyone looking for a great chiropractic experience should go to Dr. Sorouri. He takes my insurance and has good hours. Dr. Sorouri is the best chiropractor I've ever had in Chicago- and believe me, I've been through a bunch. I came in 6 weeks ago with my hips over rotated, right leg jammed into my hip, weak low back, and a sour outlook on how this was ever gonna get corrected. Dr. Sorouri had a plan, he sat me down and we discussed my workout routine, my diet, my frame of mind. Once he put my mind at ease then he went to work. Where as chiropractors I've had in the past would just "crack" me and send me out the door in 10 minutes, Doc spent a half hour carefully manipulating, stretching, and gently eased things back into place. I walked out of there upright, balanced, and with a fresh outlook. We did 3 straight weeks of this, each time feeling stronger than I did the week before. We're now on a bi-weekly adjustment schedule and we have a plan to stretch that to 3 weeks and maybe even every month for just "maintenance" because if you have a physical job like mine it's about preventive, not just going when you're hurt! Also, to step up the strengthening of my hips and back I started seeing his colleague Jennifer (who is on his staff) for weekly yoga sessions. She is also an incredible masseuse. Combining the yoga, massage, and adjustment has opened up my hips and a fresh healthy outlook on this daily struggle I have with my hips/low back. I'd give him 10 stars if I could! It started as lower back pain, I started seeing an acupuncturist, she suggested I go here as if it was disc issue, the acupuncture wouldn't help. I put it off, as having had a really bad experience years ago, I was afraid of chiropractors. My co-worker goes to him and told me he wouldn't do anything I was uncomfortable with, which made me more comfortable booking the appointment. When I did call, as I was now experiencing shooting pains down my leg, he was booked up, I pleaded my case, and he offered to come in a few minutes early for me..which I really appreciated!! He evaluated me, did some exercises and stretching me and a little massage. He sent me home with exercises to do and asked me to come back at the end of the week..I was 50% better! After the second visit 80% better..I then went to weekly appointments and then every other week and now it's been about 2 months and he said for me to gauge when I should come back, he's not one of those that requires 3x/week. Happy to say I am 100% better and have returned to my yoga, which was not allowed during the therapy as it was making my issue worse. I'm telling everyone that I know..go see him if you have back issues..he will be honest, straightforward, and he's a really nice guy, along with the front desk manager! read more

As a fellow local chiropractor, I'm very picky about who I choose when my back needs care. Dr. Sorouri has helped me in the past when I had severe back pain after playing basketball that required daily care for a week, and then 3x/week for 3 weeks. He was able to get me back to 100% with alot of his time and effort including chiro, PT exercises, and modalities. I write that to explain that everybody needs different care plans, and that's how I practice as well. There have been many other times when I just needed one adjustment and I'm done. We also have very similar training and have both treated numerous athletes. That's the type of Chiropractor that other Chiro's want to go to. I appreciate that he is skilled and caring which don't always go hand in hand. Having known Dr. Sorouri both personally and professionally now for close to 20 years, I can highly recommend his office to you without hesitation.
