When dreams are just dreams - a hotdog pipe dream that went terribly wrong. On a Saturday night the 45th of January 2025 , I took Amtrack north bound. With the romantic glow of the sun filling the train where you have to imagine that the men inventing trains shook hands with God and made a deal that the light be most warm and most beautiful in a train. The purple haze grazing the palm trees of Goleta as the sun set so beautiful in shades of pink and coral into a rolling ocean of navy. The announcement sounded that the cafe was still open, it was 7:23pm. As I passed the train cars of families playing cards I felt like I was in the most wholesome of nights. The cafe had limited options, such as a hotdog. And there began the question one must ask, do I get the hot dog? I am playing a hasty game of chance if I get a hot dog... I'm on a train. If I get sick the bathroom won't be inviting. Will I gain enemies ? But I love hot dogs- every once in a while. Screw it "I'm only 36 once!" I proclaim in the whole 3 mins these thoughts race through my ADD mind. I bought the hot dog , a ginger ale and made my way to grab two packets of ketchup and a mustard. I got back to my seat. Placing the ketchup and mustard lovingly across the dog - as the buns collapsed like exhausted cartoon tires off their hinges. Caution took wind! This was the red flag. No the hot dog on a train was the first red flag. But while I'm still figuring out dating and not going for red flags , you can't blame me for picking this one. I said a prayer still eager that this might not have been a mistake. Ketchup filled the air as I thought , Oh holy Hebrew National hotdog , will thy bless thy self and use thy hotdog skills to land me a hottie husband who will adore me even when I give in to thy hotdog with plenty of ketchup - amen. I held the buns up. One side was wet of frost bite - like it had traveled too far off course on the Oregon Trail. The other side was very hard, but I thought I think it'll be fine. Very much like past relationships except this time I gaslit myself. I took a bite with the 'good bun' - one entire hot dog with one short hard bun that did not match in size , ok it was weird - so when I say the one and only bite I took was terrible I mean it was terrible. All nostalgic wonder passed me by. This was not "what dreams were made of" Hilary Duff , this was a hotdog nightmare. Alone in my train row I humbly acknowledged my mistake. And covered it to rest with a napkin. Amtrack please supply some decent food for goodness sake!

I want to share my experience so others can make an informed decision before getting involved…read more Colorado River Adventures operates legally, but the business model raises serious concerns. The sales process felt extremely high-pressure, with a strong push to sign the same day under the impression that the deal wouldn't be available later. That alone should be a red flag for anyone making a large financial commitment. The membership structure is essentially a long-term financial obligation with ongoing annual fees that are not always clearly emphasized upfront. Once you're in, getting out is not simple. From what I've experienced and seen from others, these contracts are treated like binding loans, which can follow you financially if you try to walk away. Another issue is that some of the benefits and expectations presented during the sales process don't always match the reality of the locations or availability. It can be difficult to book when and where you want, and not all properties are maintained at the level you might expect based on the presentation. There are also broader concerns about customer data security following reports of a data breach, which adds another layer of hesitation when trusting the company with personal information. To be clear, this is not about the company being illegal -- it's about whether the value truly matches the cost and commitment. For many people, especially those who don't consistently use the membership, it may not make financial sense. I would strongly recommend anyone considering this to take their time, read the full contract carefully, and not make a same-day decision under pressure.

My family and I were told when we arrived that there are zero, sheets, blankets, pillows and towels etc. My wife nearly fell off the toilet because it was loose. Luckily I carry tools and fixed that. When I called to issue a complaint with the so-called manager Robin. She told me she has every employee go over the linens and so forth with all patrons. I told her that wasn't true and she basically called me a liar and told me to send an email to her boss. No response. They are a very shady outfit. I'm putting nicely. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I have had a valid temporary Canadian Drivers license, valid credit cards in my name, and a valid US passport. I am a us citizen and I have a current California Drivers license as well. Canada asked that I give it to them as I cannot have a second drivers license due to fraud concerns. So I only have a photo of my Cali license. I get that i cannot use a digital copy.... even though I have rented from this location multiple times. I was told that because my Canadian DL did not have a picture it was not Valid. Maybe not for enterprise, but for everyone else it is a Valid form of ID. Especially in conjunction with a passport. Oddly, if I had a temporary DL from California with no photo it would have not been an issue. Not sure why that matters. She said it was about proving I was who I claimed. I was also told I could use a Costco card with my picture, but when I went to produce it. The agent refused to look at it got angry, and told me she would not rent me a car today and I needed to leave. This is as she was waiting on possible approval from her manager. To be clear this felt more about her being on a power trip than anything else. I had not cursed at her, no yelled in any manner. I was trying to remain composed but felt she was giving me the runaround. I had witnessed her doing the same things to others who called in about their reservations. At 2:30 (they close at 5:30) she told some person on the phone that she would NOT rent her a car today. I could tell the customer asked to pick up the car when they opened at 8. She curtly told her again that she would NOT rent them a car at 8. They would have to wait until 9. Then told the customer to feel free to cancel her reservation. It's one thing to say I can't rent you a car because you cannot for valid reason. It absurd to just get on a power trip and tell people that you will NOT rent them a car they have reserved. And to be clear. They had plenty of cars as it was early afternoon, and I was the only one in the place. She could have rented cars had she wanted to. She just seemed to bothered. I will add she appeared to try to call a manager. But whether she gave her manager the complete story is unknown. I checked the enterprise website and it appears I did have the proper documents. Here is the policy pulled directly from enterprise website. In some US and Canadian locations, customers not holding a US/Canadian driver's license may be asked to provide additional, valid government-issued documentation. Examples of this may include a valid passport. Customers with a driver's license from Mexico may be required to present a valid voter registration card from Mexico. In addition, inbound and outbound travel documentation may be required. Temporary driver's licenses may be refused if the renting location is unable to otherwise verify the customer's identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license. Additional government-issued identification may be required. I provided a US passport issued by the United States. I have heard the US passport does not carry as much weight as it used to, but I never expected it to be refused inside the US.
