I love this spot! It's kind of a hidden gem in Clintonville but one of its greatest productions. I came here on a Saturday morning during the Clintonville Farmer's Market so it was busy. People were coming in and out, so most people didn't come and sit and linger in the room on the other side, which has a little section of fair trade items. The line didn't take that long. It's a small space but I'm not sure if they ever get this busy unless the farmers market is going on. I ordered a pumpkin latte with almond milk which was so good. I could taste the pumpkin! I don't order lattes often, so I totally forgot that lattes usually have 3 pumps of a syrup. It was too sweet at the end. But again, my fault for not realizing. I also got a blueberry basil donut hole. It was pretty good! But I would've enjoyed it without so much of the glaze on it. My sister got a donut with pumpkin seeds on top. It was good and really large. Wasn't overly sweet which was nice. I'm giving them 5 stars cuz they're fair trade and that's a selling point. Also, customer service was awesome. Despite how busy they were, the girl at the register was really personable and talkative and patient. There's a lot of space though. The other room was really pretty with garage doors made into windows. So pretty! Also, lots of seating outside which would be awesome on a warm day. read more

I want to start by saying this place is cute and the local art is awesome. I really wanted to love this place, I love going to cafes and seeing art, but it was just such a weird experience. There were maybe 3 people ahead of us when we got there and we waited a really long time to be helped. My colleague and I both ordered a drink and a bagel with cream cheese. The kind of bagel was not listed, so I assumed it would be just a plain bagel, and I thought I saw the barista remove a bag of plain bagels from the fridge or freezer while preparing ours. The bagels we got were everything(?) bagels. The barista burned one of the bagels, like badly. They handed them to us and said "which of you is getting the burnt one?" And then gave us a cookie. The gesture was nice, but I would have rather just have gotten a new unburnt bagel haha. The latte was fine, I would probably order a different drink next time though. The taste of one of the shots really out flavored the others. read more

This is my first time at Global Gallery and I do like this place! The atmosphere is very casual. I came here in January so there isn't too much seating in-side. In the warmer weather the patio is usually open, which would be cool to check out. My coffee was good. I ordered a latte with almond milk, which was around $4. I like how they offer mugs (reduce waste, yay!), and how they have a rewards program (10th coffee is free). I plan on coming back here in the future! read more

They had a handful of fun flavors and was trying to decided, threw out a couple combinations and the baristas looked at me hesitantly but the gentleman at the counter gave offered me a little sample cup with the lavender and rose (super nice I normally don't experiment because I don't wanna ruin my coffee) but I ended up loving it. Very confused about these raving reviews... I ordered a latte and received what tasted like a cup of steamed milk with a few drops of espresso. I know that sounds like I'm exaggerating but that's honestly what it looked and tasted like. There's currently no inside seating. There is outdoor seating which could be nice if the weather is good. I also really like the atmosphere. Too bad about the disappointing coffee!! One star for the coffee, but I'll give two stars overall since the barista was nice and tried her best. Maybe it was just bad luck, but there's so many great coffee places around town so I don't think I'll be back. read more

I am committing a Yelp sin. Nothing too bad, nothing against the TOS, but I am doing an informal no-no. It's one of our prodigal son Mike G's "thou shall nots" listed on his review of Yelp. But since Mike's gone, and we're free at last I am gonna do it; while the cats away the mice will play. I am reviewing a place as I sit in it; a real-time description of the experience as it happens. So, so taboo. Relax, don't click that flag button, I've been here before, a quick stop on my way elsewhere. I won't decide my rating until I go. And will not send until I am home. I forget what this use to be; perhaps a bank with the drive-through out front. Today the portico is used for a patio. It kind of looks like a artist studio, gallery, or antique shop from the sidewalk. Underneath the arching portico are what looks like art pieces, and a cello. My perception must be influenced by the places name, because on closer inspection it is not art but weathered cookout items; they just look like items in a Urbex photo. Ordering is done at the bar right in from the door. The seating is separated by a hallway which features the work of an Etch-a-sketch artist. Never heard of that before, but his work is impressive. There are a few seats up against the windows here, but the space is small. Other than those choices, you can't really order, go get a seat, and return like more open spaces, which could make an awkward wait but the bubbly barista today had my large mocha done fast. Why does it smell like Chicken and Noodles here? Do they serve food? It smells like Chicken and noodles, maybe dumplings, with lots of pepper. I have to check this out. They do! The small menu at the front can be easily missed. It is not Chicken or noodles though, but pad Thai. They also have pot pies and a couple other items. Smells good. I am not having any though. I have plans later. This review will judge only its coffee and atmosphere. I am really digging the space. There's photos on the wall, nature shots, prints floating in glass around rustic wood frames. The walls are mainly white brick. The ceiling are dark grey moldings. There are small windows, three rows of six. . . wait! Those are garage doors. This place wasn't a bank, it was a garage. Now why didn't I notice that coming in? Wow does it smell good. . . Ok, focus now--decor. What else? The furniture is rustic and distressed. I like the black bistro table I am sitting at. Right of me is a craft room with typical craft stuff for sale: there are purse bags, marble looking cut outs of Africa, knits, pottery, some kind of weird looking owl, jewelry, candles and scents, a bike tire for some reason, and a mirror. They have post cards too, the spinner is in front of me. Great photography. I see a black and white of an Indian, a couple French drawings, local photos like the corner of --Olentangy Blvd and Orchard Lane!? What? Now who would send a postcard of . . .oh never mind, I am digressing. Let me spin this. Ok Park of Roses, that makes more sense. The people: it is the young, pro, hipster, and student set. Most are pounding away at their laptops, or in conversation. The seating here is in the community interaction philosophy like Fox in the Snow or Tasi, with long table for multiple parties rather than small separate seating. Where is the restrooms? I need to go. It must be that door in the craft room people keep going in and out if. One second. Yep it is there. Unisex and single use, their restroom is perfectly clean. ( I am not writing this in there FYI) They have reading material for those that need to spend time there. Lots of progressive literature. In fact, Global is filled with progressive papers, signs, and flyers. Not a surprise for a fair trade place. Oh the mocha! I bet people would want to know what I think about this. It came in a big red cup and was very smooth. Maybe too smooth. I am not a coffee expert,so. I don't have the concepts to describe what I like and don't like about a mocha. My best attempt is to say I like the smoothness, but the taste of chocolate is lacking in the middle of the cup. The top taste milky sweet, the middle more like expressos in hot water, the bottom syrupy chocolate. So I'd say it was good but inconstant in uniformity, if that makes any sense. I would order it again. All in all, I love the atmosphere, the aesthetics; the coffee was prety good. read more

I came up from Cincinnati and hadn't been here in awhile. The interior change was impressive! Last time I was here, it was cool but a bit cluttered. It's been repainted in a soothing grey and white, the furniture is warm woods and painted turquoise, the bathroom has been redone and there's a sense of flow where you can slow down and appreciate the fair trade goods on shelves. The honey bear latte was wonderful...not too sweet and served piping hot in a hand painted mug. They were serving a Salvadoran breakfast as part of an international women's day presentation. Homemade refried beans and tortillas, scrambled eggs, fresh avocado and salsa...yum! The array of desserts is expansive and my biggest challenge was choosing. The presentation was moving and I've such appreciation that a tiny coffee shop in Columbus, Ohio remembers its connection to growers in the wider world not just in marketing but also in the very fiber of how they run this place. read more

It's a nice shop with a great outside patio. The fact that they dedicate their entire business to fair trade practices says something. Good coffee, baristas, and location. The price is right about average for single pour coffee, but their serving size is low. The small is an 8oz, which to me, is just silly. But hey, some people might be into getting just a lil pick me up. Something I do appreciate is when you order a small coffee, they let you know how small it is, in case you weren't aware and wanted to have a bigger cup. I most recently got their pumpkin latte, which is really good. The pumpkin isn't too overpowering and I definitely appreciate that. I will frequent this coffee shop. read more

Friend brought me here for the first time; accessible nice location off high st w/ plenty of parking. Indoor seating & heated outdoor patio with tables. Inside was full so we went to the other outside patio which wasn't heated, but the gate was closed so we just stood outside which was fine. I had a classic americano, and as far as americanos go I thought it was quite good. Solid menu along with baked goods, c.c. scone was delicious. Some cute gifts as well (hats, candles, honey, etc.). This coffee shop is so cute and welcoming. Before you enter the door, there's a patio in the front with lots of seating. There are also strings of lights that add to the ambiance of the place. The area that you order at is quite small but very cute and cozy. There's more seating in the back and it's perfect for small talk or studying (free WiFi too). Visiting from out of state for a few days and stumbled upon this little coffee shop. Pleasant, laid back atmosphere and nice decorative touches. A little pricier than I was expecting but I suppose the quality is worth it. Good food, good coffee, but damn it, I took a star away because the guy completely forgot about my food order. A cute little coffee shop located in clintonville where you'll find something new happening each time you go. My 1st visit there was pretty normal, just coffee and chilling on the patio. But the next 2 were more than an ordinary coffee break. 1 stopped by 1 evening to try Bakers Dozen sandwiches. I was delighted by this pop up sandwich stand dishing out some of the best sandwiches you'll ever have. The Italian sub and Cuban do not disappoint. Not only was there food but I was pleasantly entertained by a local musician who was performing there as well. I had no clue this was event happening and what a great surprise it was. The next time I went there was an art festival going on which was also very cool. I got a cold brew and the barista gave me 50 cent off just because. I was craving something hot and liquidy when I came in. Tea for sure, but soup, too, if they had any. The soup of the day on the wall menu was a Punjabi lentil soup, which sounded absolutely scrumptious. So I ordered it along with my dragonwell (yay for more than one green tea option -- there were four) as "the soup of the day" (that is, I didn't actually order it by name), and the young woman came around the counter and took a carton out of the prepared foods fridge. Have to say I wasn't expecting that. It also turned out to be not Punjabi lentil soup, but chili. Well, ok then. I didn't protest because I was just craving something that would warm my belly, and chili sounded dandy, too, but it was certainly odd. She heated it up in the microwave and brought it to me with my tea. It was really very good, so it's hard to complain about any part of the oddness, but it was still unexpected. It's not immediately evident when you walk in that there is seating inside the shop itself. My first thought was that all the tables were outside -- and there are definitely more of them out there -- but I wisely wandered through without giving up on the idea of hunkering down. I didn't need to plug in today, but there is a power strip near the far wall if you need it. Although there were several other people there doing their own thing, I was struck by how utterly quiet the place was. There was no music on, and it felt kind of like a library. The tables are nice and big; one customer was grading papers (for which I did not envy her at all), and she had plenty of space to spread out all her materials. The room smelled wonderful of all sorts of herby stuff. The wifi was zippy even with four laptops open throughout the cafe. I'm definitely a fan. If you need a coffeehouse where you can simply work in quiet without distractions of the homo sapiens variety, this is a great option. It's very intimate, but in a cozy way, not in a shoebox way. loved the location of this place. it has a nice outdoor seating area and only three people are permitted into the store at a time while wearing a mask so it's very covid friendly. the coffee itself was pretty average. i got an iced vanilla latte and it was kind of bitter and i ended up asking for an extra couple pumps of simple syrup to sweeten it up. there was an impressive case of pastries but i didn't end up trying any of them. might go back to test out another drink and see if the pastries taste as good as they look. read more

It's just nothing has ever really made me want to make many trips to Global Gallery. The Clintonville location ups the ante by selling all those conscious-friendly items and...serving as a coffee house as well. Clintonville can never have enough places to lounge around and sip a cup of good java. They serve soup too. My favorite part about this shop is that it is located in a old renovated service station.
