Vomit at elevators inside apartments hall
    Reagan N.

Not as advertised / not luxury. This part of the Bronx is safe but very rough. There's bags and bags of trash and dog poop all around the building and sidewalk. There's also not a safe sidewalk path to the apartments. The room is so bright at night (lack of shades or curtains) you cannot sleep. The website description mentions blackout curtains but there are none. I called four times, have been promised curtains, but nothing. The shower handle was broken off when I arrived. There is no kitchenette or appliances (just a microwave and blender) despite being listed in the description. Customer service is atrocious. The hallway stinks of pot (despite this being a no smoking building) and this morning there was vomit all smeared around the elevator, forcing me (disabled) to take the stairs

ZERO STARS--DON'T BOOK. I booked a stay via booking.com for 1 night in April located in Bronx, NY. There's a few things that went extremely wrong: 1. The site online is not a good representation of what the outside of the building looks like. A lot of renovation at the time of stay. 2. One of the buildings that's being displayed online is no longer associated with the company per representatives. So there aren't any staff of Global luxury on-site, making it very difficult to address on-site issues. 3. You are blindsided by a contract after booking via booking.com. Why do I have to sign a contract after I've already booked a reservation and paid fees through booking.com? This came off as a red flag. 4. I was informed by a representative prior to booking, that I could have early check-in if I made reservations. After making reservations, I was denied that early check-in. 5. Customer service is astonishingly poor. They were very difficult to reach. So because of the misleading about location/pictures, blind-sided contract, and lied to regarding early check-in, I requested cancellation. 6. Representatives via global luxury stated inability to cancel since I booked through a 3rd party and instructed me to cancel via booking.com. Per the instructions, I sent a cancellation request via booking.com. Representatives via booking.com stated, after multiple attempts, they have yet to receive a response from Global luxury so cancellation was not requested. 7. Because of the shady business, I definitely booked elsewhere, and decided to fight this and dispute payment with Amex (credit card company). Multiple times, my dispute was denied because Global luxury repeatedly told Amex that I never cancelled and booking.com never reached out to them regarding my cancellation. Well after, I showed proof to Amex with screenshots of emails and correspondences with booking.com, my dispute was found appropriate and I was refunded. 8. Never, will I book with them again and neither should you even consider booking with Global luxury. **I never got a chance to see the inside of the room because I wasn't laying my head in a place controlled by shady business. **If you have an issue with a reservation via booking.com, you have to contact a live person via live-chat to address concerns. Thankfully, the correspondences I had via the live chat helped me with my case. See pictures where global luxury lied to Amex stating I never cancelled and booking.com never reached out to them. And see the proof that I, in fact, cancelled and representatives of booking.com reached out to global luxury multiple times with no response from global luxury.

Debris left in the shower after the washing machine repair.

I stayed at 8 Harrison Ave. I was scheduled to stay for 14 days, but only made it to day 4. Sunday evening upon checking in I found the washing machine broken, tv broken, living room lamp broken, bedroom lamp broken and the place is very dirty. The floor is even sticky. I sent an email immediately to inform GLS and to get help. Monday I received no response to my email so I called them in the afternoon. They hadn't read it yet. I waited while they found my email and tickets were issued for the repairs but not for cleaning. They said they would talk to housekeeping first. Tuesday repairs were made. I asked about cleaning and again was told they would get back to me. In the evening I wanted to shower and noticed when the washing machine was fixed they dumped the nasty water in the shower leaving it unsanitary and unusable. I notified GLS of the issue immediately. It was after 5pm so I receive no response on Tuesday. I had to bath in the Kitchen sink. Wed. I again asked for cleaning. I was told housekeeping was already there but they would come again. It would be scheduled for Thursday. I am now having to bath for the second day in the kitchen sink because the shower is gross. Thursday I returned at 5pm looking forward to a shower and being able to take my shoes off for the first time in the apartment (dirty sticky floor). Unfortunately, I returned to a dirty apartment. I call again and am told housekeeping had cleaned and would not be returning. That is when I took the attached pictures of the larger issues as the smaller debris and the sticky floor don't photo well. The apartment was not a sanitary/safe environment and after trying to work with GLS for 4 days, I ended up leaving and going to a hotel. Oh, the shower felt good! I requested a refund and GLS and they offered to refund me 4 days! They refuse to refund me in full because the contract states non-refundable. I guess it doesn't matter if they hold up their end of the contract to provide a livable space. I wish I had read reviews or checked the BBB (1.4/5 rating) before I booked my stay. I would have gone elsewhere. I hope my experience helps you decide to go elsewhere.

    Faulty fire alarm diables

Booked a two bedroom was put in a one bedroom Took 3 hours waiting to get emails with information to get access to the appartement because they don't have anyone at the property. Than the pins they provided to the entrance doors were wrong...took another hour There was no parking on site and for a $23 fee I packed at an Unsafe public parking. Also if I leave and come back I have to pay again that parking. After that horrible checking in experience, was about to sleep that the fire alarm went and woke up the kids that was because of a malfunction. Called the customer service and 15 mins I had a message from them asking me to just disable it I was against it but there was no way to stay in that apparement with the fire alarm noise. I'll sleep with my family in a unsafe place and I will call the city fire inspector tomorrow to let them know what global Luxury Suites is doing in their property. The customer service was rude unprofessional and inexperienced. The count less hours of our life We spent dealing with this BAD business...never getting them back. Dirty-unsafe and bad customer service. This is my worst experience. Do not book that place. with them.

    Better Business Bureau web page

**DEFINITELY AVOID THIS PLACE** I made a reservation in February to stay at their Jersey City Waterfront location in April and ran into several concerning issues: - Hidden fees that jack up the cost of a reservation a fair bit higher than advertised prices - Requiring an uncomfortable amount of detailed personal information (e.g. pictures of the front and back of my ID) to confirm the reservation after booking, as well as requiring signing a lengthy agreement that I was only made aware of and able to see the terms of after I had already paid. To reiterate, they only asked for this information and made these requirements known AFTER the reservation was already booked and paid for. - A month after the reservation was made, they applied an additional random $13 charge to my card (without notifying me or explaining what it was for) that was not listed in the price at booking or the reservation confirmation. When I contacted the billing department about this on two different days, they said they didn't know what the charge was for and they had to forward it on to a manager. It took them a couple of days to get back to me and they eventually said it was sales tax that for some reason didn't get calculated in the price shown online at booking (despite having already paid about $100 in sales tax) and said they would refund it. - A shady cancelation policy that seemed to repeatedly change every time I called (I heard at least half-a-dozen different and conflicting answers.) When I called them to cancel the reservation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they said that since it was more than 14-days out from the reservation they would issue a refund minus a 30% non-refundable deposit and I canceled the reservation based on this information. When I followed up a few days later about when to expect the reimbursement, they then said they would not refund any of the amount because it was canceled less than 30 days before the reservation date. Only after persistent follow up on my part did they honor their original statement and issued a partial refund minus the deposit. - Very subpar customer service: representatives seemed unable to answer and annoyed with basic reasonable questions, such as whether they would be able to hold our luggage at the desk if we arrived earlier than our check-in time. (Usually I am on the side of customer service workers and always try to give the benefit of the doubt, having been one myself and knowing how difficult their job often is, but the service was just incredibly bad.) In summary: Do NOT book with them. EDIT: Added a screenshot of the Better Business Bureau listing, further showcasing the shadiness of this company.

I've come here twice and had a wonderful experience each time. Great service. Unfortunately on both occasions my party was only one of 2 or 3 other tables occupied in the restaurant. My most recent visit was on a Sunday (the day of the World Cup championship - which could explain the emptiness of the restaurant). Their main dining room didn't open until 5pm so we sat at a little table near the bar in the hotel lobby and ordered fries and drinks while we waited. The fries (not pictured) were skinny, crispy, and delicious. They came with a wonderful side of aioli sauce. More than enough for 2 people to share as a snack. Once we were seated inside, we both ordered the salmon. It was absolutely spectacular. We did not specify a temperature and the chef cooked it to absolute perfection. It came on a light bed of some sort of yogurt - which sounds questionable, but you just have to try it. It was amazing. The salmon also came with roasted zucchini and squash. It was topped with nuts so if you have an allergy make sure to keep that in mind. This is a nice restaurant but overall the vibes are very casual, you'd be fine in jeans and a decent top. It was a bit chilly inside, but that was much appreciated given how hot it was outside on this day. One important note is that this is not the place to come to watch sports. There's one TV near the bar that's outside of the main dining room and it's in somewhat of an awkward position. Overall 10 out of 10 experience, would definitely come back!

They seem to have the appearance of a respectable company at first, but if you ask for more that emails and for standard photos of the apartments, you might find that they will disappear. The agent I dealt with was very nice at first. She gave me a few links and an application form. The company the application was for has several reviews stating they are reluctant to return security deposits, and they want your card info included in the application. That was not reassuring. If you ask the agent for more reassurance, they might insinuate you're being evasive because you must have dealt with that company before and they rejected you. Absolutely not. I think in the decades that I've visited the city, I've only gone to Wall Street as a tourist once! Yet somehow, during my most recent searches, I came across Mint House and decided to try it out based on the reviews. And boy, we were not disappointed! Mint House is located in an art deco building right smack in the middle of the financial district. I figured it would be quiet, because what nightlife would be around that area, right? Well, it was quiet, but it was fantastic! But it wasn't quiet that nothing was happening. There were still plenty of places to go to within the area. Black Fox Café is conveniently located on the first floor of the building. And there were many food options in the same building as well. From a Michelin starred restaurant to deli. And if you fancy it, you can even head to the rooftop bar! But the real star of the place is the actual rooms of the hotel. We had so much space in our studio that we didn't know what to do with it! We asked for a studio with two beds, and we absolutely loved that the beds were not next to each other. In fact, the other bed was located in a nook far away from the other bed, making it feel like it was a two bedroom space instead of a studio! We even had a full-size kitchen and a dining table for six that we didn't need. This was the first time in the many years we've traveled to the city that we had space to not only put our luggage, but also order in food, bring home food, keep it in the fridge and throw it in the microwave when we felt like it. Mint House is the unexpected favorite place we've ever stayed at, and we cannot wait to go back!

It was very similar to our stay before, except the room was a bit smaller (230 square feet) than the previous stay, but it was fine for the two of us for the short stay. It cost 1,050 points for the two nights ($1,083 comparable on the Marriott web site if paid in cash), and I booked it about 2 months before. It's all about the location here, being within walking distance to most of the theaters in the theater district and Madison Square Garden, both of which we took advantage of during our stay. Didn't need a car, so the nightly valet parking rate of $78 didn't apply for us. They still have the complementary guided walking tour, which sounds like a lot of fun if we had more time. Didn't have a chance to check out the upper rooftop or the small fitness center in the basement. The room was fine. It's noisy (street noise and neighbors) so they provide eyemask and earplug kits. They had light blocking manual shades that worked well. The room had a decent size fridge, and there is a communal microwave in the basement. The TV had plenty of cable channels. As a basecamp to recover from the heat and lack of sleep, it was perfect. I had gotten a phone call from the vacation club call center every day during the week before we came, asking to talk to me about how they could help us get ready for our visit. So finally picked up to get them to stop calling, listened to them explain the hotel benefits (which I knew since I had stayed there before), and then finally tell them politely no to a free, no obligation gift if attending a timeshare presentation (they call it a tour of the property). Something similar happened in person when we were checking in, where the concierge grabbed us before we got into the elevator. I listened politely and then declined, and told her I was really unhappy that they kept soliciting even though I had asked it to stop. She looked hurt, and said she would make sure that the property would put an opt-out to my name. Well, the next day when we were heading to lunch, a different concierge caught the attention of my wife, by offering a free gift. He didn't even know our name, which I guess is one way to claim why the opt-out didn't work. I got angry and loudly told my wife we needed to go for our appointment and that we weren't interested in a timeshare presentation. The same concierge later recognized me on the street, and gave me a derisive wave of recognition ("I see you")...have no idea a guy with that sort of fake, insincere personality can be in a job that is supposed to help people. Outside of the concierges, everybody else at the hotel was great...very friendly and genuinely trying to help. We will stay here again...the location is too good and I need to use my points every year. Just need to be better at saying a firm 'no', and moving on.
