The Space: Apartment feel, like you're in a second home. Different spots to lounge besides the bed. Multiple lighting options to suit different preferences but they're kind of everywhere. The Amenities: Has shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, towels, robes, q-tips, water bottle, tea, coffee (nice quality grounds from the cafe downstairs), and snacks! Nice kitchen/kitchenette, depending what room you get. Has basics of what you would need in a home. The Location: Hidden inside a building - need to take a certain set of elevators for the hotel rooms. Entrance is easy to find once you're inside the building. The cost: $$ The Service: Minimally staffed but helpful front desk. Cleaning is available daily. read more

In all the years that I've traveled to NYC this is, by far, the biggest place we've ever stayed at! I don't even know why I looked in the FiDi area. I think in the decades that I've visited the city, I've only gone to Wall Street as a tourist once! Yet somehow, during my most recent searches, I came across Mint House and decided to try it out based on the reviews. And boy, we were not disappointed! Mint House is located in an art deco building right smack in the middle of the financial district. I figured it would be quiet, because what nightlife would be around that area, right? Well, it was quiet, but it was fantastic! But it wasn't quiet that nothing was happening. There were still plenty of places to go to within the area. Black Fox Café is conveniently located on the first floor of the building. And there were many food options in the same building as well. From a Michelin starred restaurant to deli. And if you fancy it, you can even head to the rooftop bar! But the real star of the place is the actual rooms of the hotel. We had so much space in our studio that we didn't know what to do with it! We asked for a studio with two beds, and we absolutely loved that the beds were not next to each other. In fact, the other bed was located in a nook far away from the other bed, making it feel like it was a two bedroom space instead of a studio! We even had a full-size kitchen and a dining table for six that we didn't need. This was the first time in the many years we've traveled to the city that we had space to not only put our luggage, but also order in food, bring home food, keep it in the fridge and throw it in the microwave when we felt like it. Honestly, this might just have become one of favorite hotels in NYC. In a city where it's not uncommon to open your room door for the first time and find that your bed touches almost all four walls, the rooms here are a welcome and spacious change. From the kitchen, to the walk-in closet to the record player I could not get over how amazing my room was. At first I was wondering if I ended up just getting lucky, but then when I went through all of the pictures added here I just realized that was pretty standard - so my amazement continues! Also, my room was so peaceful. The blackout curtains understood the assignment, the bed was comfortable and the temperature control was top notch. Plus the staff here is so nice! Check-in was a breeze and instead of a room key you're given a digital password to gain access to your room and elevator. At first I didn't love that but it's so much better than dealing with your key deactivating at random times through the period of a visit. And even when I apparently accidentally selected a late check-out option that came with a $145 fee, the gentleman at the front was so helpful and understanding. I had just run back to my room to rush out for an on-time departure at 11am because I did not want to be charged, without realizing I had clicked something to confirm that payment. Since I had been in communication with the front desk to let them know I was leaving my room for check-out but would be working in the common area, he knew I was out of the room. But it still showed a lot of grace and understanding to reverse the accidental charge and I truly appreciate that. Overall, anytime I need to stay in FiDI I will always check prices here first since I think I now feel a loyalty. Not bad at all! You could do a lot worse for a NYC work-trip hotel than Mint House. I didn't have the best first impression (see the first con below) but Mint House steadily grew on me. Cue the pros/cons list: Pros: 1. Room was pretty big with beautiful high ceilings, including a very roomy bathroom with a rainfall shower. A unicorn in NYC hotels where the shoebox size is the norm. Plenty of amenities for a longer stay, including utensils, sink, fridge. 2. The Malin+Goetz toiletries in the bulk dispenser bottles in the shower. I'm not above confessing that I took maybe more than my fair share of showers on this trip. 3. Pretty convenient location in FiDi, with a good mix of places to eat (a range of DIG/Sweetgreen/Cava to Crown Shy). Cons: 1. There's no lobby or street entrance and no obvious signage other than "70 Pine" - which, arriving in the city after a long trip, I was a little disoriented and just could not, for the life of me, locate the entrance to the hotel. I came in through one of the building entrances and must have asked two security desks where the hotel was. Mint House shares the same entrance as Crown Shy and Overstory, and the lobby was packed. I finally found the check-in area, which is tucked away near the back. 2. I stayed on the second floor and at night, there was a steady, low-grade, mechanical grinding sound. I tuned it out with the thanks of earplugs but overall, the walls are thin and there's not much soundproofing. read more

Excellent place. A friend of mine rented a two bedroom suite here for her birthday. I used to work nearby, but I was totally unaware of this place-- it' appeared to be a mixed use building. I'm not sure if they have offices here, but it's hotel rentals, but also some folks live here. (I will revisit this later) The front desk staff was very cordial when my friend and I arrived. My friend who was celebrating her birthday sent me the code that is needed to get the elevator to go upstairs. The room itself was very spacious and very modern-- they even had a record player, which was a nice touch. After about an hour, we have a knock at the door. It's almost midnight, at this point. I hear it was security asking everyone to quiet down. Shortly thereafter, one of the people who lived here comes by and she's complaining about the noise, again. She apparently had called security many times over-- they explained we would attempt to quiet down, however, it was a birthday party. This is when I first became aware people lived here, which I then understood why she was complaining because I thought it was all hotel rentals. Security returned about 30 minutes later-- they said they would no longer come back because they understood it was a birthday party. Yet, the same woman came by again and I decided to speak to her myself. I explained it was about 15-20 people inside and I would attempt to get everyone to quiet down, which attempts were made to do so. For the reason explained above, I would not say this is a place for a party, but I would certainly stay here for a staycation. read more

The location okay if you are looking to do things around Wall Street. This is one of the oldest parts of the city. Sometimes in the summer, the neighborhood can be a bit smelly. It is located in 70 Pine Street building. Formerly known as the 60 Wall Tower, Cities Service Building, and American International Building - is a 67-story. Built from 1930 to 1932 by energy conglomerate Cities Service Company (Citgo). It was Lower Manhattan's tallest building and the world's third-tallest structure in the 30s. Things to do: -Take the Staten Island Ferry to get a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty (Price of the train) -Visit the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian inside the U.S. Custom House (Free) -Visit the African Burial Ground National Monument and Museum (Free) My opinion: I think this is a great location for a staycation or a long term stay as it feels like an apartment. It is a bit pricey for a solo traveller but it is like renting an Airbnb without all the fees. read more

This place is unbelievable for the location, amenities and price. Located near Wall Street, the Mint House is a hotel housed in an Art Deco multi use building. The hotel has spacious, clean rooms with full kitchen. It's decor is sleek and minimal but includes all amenities you'd want- coffee, robes, tea, full sized fridge, robes, a record player, and a bar cart. The rooms are exceptionally large for NYC hotels. There's a coffee shop located in the building, a full gym, bowling alley (which I haven't found yet), golf simulator, grocery store and even a Michelin star restaurant. read more

Almost everything about this hotel is awesome. I haven't rented a hotel room in ages as I usually go for air bnb, but with covid going on, I wasn't taking any chances with cleaning. We looked around and saw the reviews of this hotel were pretty stellar. I'm happy to say they were totally right. The building itself is pretty nice on the inside, but it doesn't hold a candle to the room. They truly spared no expense in giving the room some awesome vibes. I'm a huge lighting guy and I couldn't have been more impressed. There are tons of different lamps and lights all with full adjustable settings for whatever mood your in for. They also have a record player and records available so that you can have some smooth tunes while your relaxing. The unit itself has a super comfy been, a large bathroom room with tub, and a full kitchen with all needed cooking supplies. You can't possible want anything else from a hotel room. Especially one in NYC where so many are just meh. The only 2 issues I had, one being not even a real issue was the parking and my dorky request. The hotel has some of the worst available parking I've seen in the city...and I'm a veteran of the city. I'm not kidding, I can find better parking on ST. Marks and in China Town. Let's be blunt...there isn't any. There is zero street parking and there isn't even a pull up loading zone at door, as the street is to narrow. The nearby garage is going to hit you for 45$ for overnight. This really sucks all around. The other issue I have was dumb. They asked if I had any special requests at booking and I asked for a bowl of green m&ms haha. I thought it woulda been hilarious and fun if they actually pulled that off. Totally a missed opportunity for a funny story. All and all I highly recommend coming here! read more

The place is ok, but the front desk staff is terrible - and they over charge. We left the room clean and even picked and cleaned the confetti that we used that night. They charged us $163 (!!!) on cleaning and lied that there was glitter too. Not only that, the front desk person shut me up when I was asking questions about it, refused to give me his name and hung up on me! Worst staff. Worst experience. Overly expensive. I know this is completely out of management's hands but before you book this hotel be aware of the following: garbage/recycling comes by pretty much every night at 2 am and very loudly empties out the trash bins for at least 30 minutes. This could happen once or twice at night between midnight and 3 am. The front desk will tell you it's not an event that should happen every day but that's the frequency. They will offer you ear plugs; I bring my own when I travel and they will not blot out the sound. They will offer to move you to a higher floor (which costs more) or to another part of true building, but will also say it won't make a difference. This is a lovely hotel otherwise but if you're hoping for at least a couple hours of sleep, look elsewhere. The least management could have done when they refurbished these lower floors would have been double paned glass. Not coming back. read more

We had a red eye so laid for early check in. Got to the hotel at 10am for early check in and was told our room wouldn't be ready until 2pm at the very earliest. Told us they'd text when the room was ready -- never did. We had to go back to the hotel and ask. Then they realized the hotel room indeed was ready. Very disappointed and ruined our first day in the city because we needed that extra time to rest and shower but waited around with bags till the later half of the day instead. There was no effort to try on the staff's part. Please do yourself a favor and book a different place that takes their jobs seriously and provides adequate customer service. read more

The staff however needs a major lesson in what it means to be in the hospitality business. They can barely look away from their phones and when they speak to you it's as if they just are at the end of a 15 hour shift. I have so many wonderful things to say about this hotel! First of all, the customer service is unmatched. All the staff were attentive, helpful, patient, and kind throughout my booking process. The pricing was fabulous, too. You get way more than other NY hotels. Next, the room selections are unbelievable. Each *suite* is fully loaded with ample square feet, modern amenities (super cool bluetooth and record player), stylish furnishings (great for pics haha), and full kitchen (huge fridge for all leftovers / beverages - no dorm room size here). The location of the hotel is awesome, being just steps away from the ferry and other waterfront attractions. Finally, I was there to celebrate my anniversary and we opted in for the "Stay & Celebrate" package - worth the $ for sure! We were able to get early check-in, gifted a bottle of bubbly upon arrival, breakfast vouchers (contactless delivery to the room - WIN) and late check-out which was needed after a long night and lazy morning. Also, parking is super close by (Cedar or Pine St.). I would definitely stay here - for longer - again. ( I would rate more stars if I could!) EDIT: I meant to add that COVID safety precautions were firmly in place and enforced. That provided peace of mind throughout our stay. read more

This hotel--OMG. Haven't quite seen anything like this in NYC. I stayed for two nights and really had no reason to leave my room. Full kitchen, lovely dining area, comfortable bed, HUGE space. I absolutely loved it. Very, very clean. Customer service was awesome. When I checked in, both attendants were extremely friendly and informative. I didn't want to leave! I also thought I may have lost a pair of earrings so I called when I reached home and Gabriella (?) was super helpful with trying to help me find them. I called back to tell her I found them, was put on hold so I wanted to write that here. All good! gets busy, I'm sure! Anyways, thank you for such a peaceful stay in such a busy city. I love this place! Now it's called Mint House at 70 Pine (new management, but same procedures and staff). The clerk even remembered me from my first staff. Each time I stayed, I stayed on their 1 bedroom - 2 bathroom suite. The suite is equipped with everything you need for a great stay-cation, except for food lol. I bought groceries with me there to cook and had a wonderful weekend in. The quiet hours start at 9, which I wish was 10:30 or 11. They called at 10 and politely asked me to quiet down, which I complied with. Staff is very helpful, especially since the office is opened 24/7. I hope they have rewards for staying because I know I'll be back again. I have a video of my room but I can't attach videos :( read more

Came for a low key birthday weekend and it's a very nice hotel sectioned off in private residential building in the financial district of Lower Manhattan. The building itself is gorgeous and must be pretty old looking at the architecture. There is some pretty cool artwork that contrasts nicely with the modern look of the hallways but no name of artist which was a bummer. We came at a pretty empty time, I'm pretty sure there's no one else even on our floor right now but due to Covid it's understandable. I have never been in a condo hotel which was nicer than i imagined. It's very big with high ceilings, has a fully decked beautiful kitchen and bathroom that's stocked with some really nice bath products. This room in particular is about 750 sq/ft which as far a hotels go is pretty decent. Would come back again. EDIT: I get home and realize my switch was left there on the bed under the blankets and the cleaning people stole my Nintendo switch and never gave it back despite us offering a 200 reward. they did give me back the jeans i left there so i guess it's something. The staff didn't seem too worried that this cleaning person just stole my console and they didn't much care to do anything about it. I will be lodging a formal complaint later with the manager. Final Edit: They found the console a couple days later. not the ideal situation but they handled it and for that i'm appreciative. Ill keep my word and change the review back. read more

Paper thin walls! Celebrated my friends birthday here. You're only allowed 6 in the room so there weren't that many of us but we kept getting noise complaints all night. As soon as we arrived, like we legit just got to the room and 15 mins later staff was knocking on the door saying above us, below us and around us are complaining. How? We legit just got there? Didn't start doing anything yet, we were just sitting around and cooking. This was around 10. We apologized and spoke in whispers, shushed anyone who spoke or laughed too loud, played music so low we couldn't even hear it and somehow they still called around 3am to ask us to be completely quiet. The neighbor next door had complained. At that point after being quiet all night we were over it and started cleaning up. Tell me why they called again to ask if we were cleaning, apparently the neighbor could hear us washing dishes. They could hear the water running? The water??? They wanted us to wait until the morning to clean. So what if someone was taking shower at 3 am? Were they gonna ask them to not bathe? This is a hotel, where people stay at, you're gonna hear noises in the other room. This is NYC, the concrete jungle that never sleeps. Native NY'ers aren't asleep at 3am. At that point we were over it and told them we were gonna do early checkout and leave within 30 mins because we were completely over it. The water???? Its like if you even walk or cough we were gonna get complained on. I know you're probably thinking we were being loud and wild. We really weren't. Like we really, really weren't. We really tried hard to be mindful and accommodating. But the situation was just crazy! The water? The dishes? I still can't believe our night ended like this. Update: When we left we asked again for specifics about the noise. Got told the downstairs guests complained we were moving furniture and that the staff came to the room to see if they could hear it and they did. How did it change from us washing dishes to us moving furniture? We weren't moving any furniture. Why would we be moving furniture? And even if we were where is the policy that states we cant move furniture??? The unit also has a washer and dryer, what if we were doing an extended stay and wanted to wash clothes at 2am? Would we have been told we couldn't do that too?? read more

This place is the best place to stay. I love this residential hotel. Why because it's as if you were living in nyc. You have a great gym. You have access to an additional gym for 30 dollars a day and it included bowling, a movie theater, virtual golfing, squad racks, yoga classes, pool, ping pong . They also have a neighborhood market. A top restaurant and coffee shop and a lunch place. All of the food places in the building are delicious blue park is great for lunch. Fox coffee is great for coffee and crown shy is great for dinner but don't forget to make a reservation. This hotel is minutes from Wall Street, seconds from the subway and minutes from the twin towers memorial. But on the weekends they do close the subway stop across the street so just keep that in mind there is a different one which is minutes away. read more

The Mint House is our go to place to stay in Manhattan. We try to get away about once a month, and we always pick Mint. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are always immaculate and all come with a kitchen. You are walking distance to the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, Financial District and the Freedom tower. There are 5 subway lines within walking distance as well. We usually come into Manhattan via Penn station and take the 3 train to the hotel. They have a deal with a garage one block away for $35 per day which is also decent for NYC. There is a full super market on the corner of the building, and a really good coffee shop in the lobby. The layout of the rooms are different and we have stayed in 3 styles so far after completing our sixth stay. Our most recent one we liked the best because it had a center island in the kitchen area. We tell everyone coming to Manhattan that this is the best hotel you'll find. Looking forward to our 7th stay! read more

They had 2 glasses of wine and a nice note waiting for us when we entered our room. Thanks so much for that again! We had a great time and zero problems. If your going here check in before the evening. The overnight man who is at the front desk is so rude disrespectful ill mannered and shady. He passed judgement on myself and friend who already had a booking here , without any type of prior knowledge to knowing us. In addition I paid for a deluxe room and he placed me in a Plus room, which was cheaper than the cost I paid. I argued with him about the difference and he told me he was the manager for the night and nothing he can do (while I'm showing him my hotel reservation). He gave us a hard time checking in. Entire experience total disaster. He was extremely obnoxious and disrespectful to myself and friends. I even saw him give his phone number directly to a guest. We have been staying there for almost 8 month straight while were looking for the apartment to move and it was a great experience!! We felt like home there , all the staff is super friendly and attentive ! They let us have our cats there as well !The studio we stayed in was huge and had 2 walk in closets ! We had full size kitchen with fridge and dishwasher and laundry on our floor which is a huge benefit! Finally we found our dream apartment , but we really enjoyed our experience with Lyric ! read more

If you are looking for a place to stay in FiDi look no further. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff is so helpful and friendly. We had to stay in the area for a month because we needed to be near NY Presbyterian hospital before and after the birth of our daughter. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make sure we were as comfortable as possible. The rooms are comfortable and impeccably clean. The kitchens have everything you would want for a prolonged stay. The only drawback is that the rooms are a little dark because they are on the lower floors of the building, which is surrounded by other sky scrappers. But on the flip side the building itself is beautiful, with a grand lobby. We could not have asked for a better home away from home during what was a challenging time for us. read more
