[Edit: The regional mgr issued a refund of the last month's rent, which is appreciated, and for that action I'll move the 1 star to a 2 star, even though we suffered far more financial loss than that one month due to staff errors.] We'd never rent here again! We have been on the road for several years and couldn't move out of this location, otherwise we would have. The staff cost us a LOT of money! We moved from a small unit to two larger units, then had relatives come by and take things out while we traveled. When they got us down to one large unit, we asked staff to make sure that we had the same gate access code. The person we talked to (Leo?) assured us that would be the case. A family member rented a truck and brought a friend out from Chicago to pick up some things. They couldn't get in, and since it was the weekend, nobody was in the office. So they wasted the cost of the truck rental and their time. Then after we got that straightened out, we were able to downsize to one smaller unit. I called Leo again, and he assured me that the gate code would be the same. Again, the relative rented another truck and got a helper - guess what, the gate code had been changed again, even though Leo promised us it wouldn't be. Asked point blank, Leo said he had no idea that gate codes changed automatically when renters moved into different units. It wasn't until AFTER this that we were told about the kiosk in the office entryway, but that might not have helped because when our relative arrived, we were out of cell range and couldn't have provided login info. Then when we finally left the facility completely, they wouldn't pro-rate the month's rent (we left on the 3rd). "Company policy!" I guess company policy overrides the money and time we wasted believing your staff when they said we could use the same gate code. And again, they had raised the rate on us. The new place we rented with a competitor cost us less than half what we were paying at Global Storage, and it has far superior carts for moving items into/out of storage. We often had to go hunting for carts because there aren't enough spread around. Also, the exterior doors have door stops on them, to prop open the doors - and most of those door stops are broken! The last day, when we moved out, a man was cleaning fishing equipment and other stuff right in the main entrance near our unit. He blocked access for about 45 minutes, so we had to go the long way around to our stuff. Staff should have noticed this on their video system and asked him to move. Currently, there are a lot of empty units at this storage facility, and now I know why. read more

I am so impressed by this storage facility. Leasing a spot was quick and seamless. Jim and Roman were extremely helpful and nice. Security is tight with cameras everywhere, and keypads for both in and out. With 24-hour access, I'll be able to get to my RV at anytime. I highly recommend Global for any of your storage needs. I rented this storage space in November based upon a deal that they were offering, it was your second month free if you sign up for automatic draft from a credit card.. so I thought hey no problem and their price was comparable to what was offered in the area. The rate when I rented the unit was 173 a month. I only rented this unit to store one of my cars that I only drive in the summer and I live in a town house and have 2 other vehicles at home. No problems until I came home today and found a postcard in my mailbox that said my rate was going from 173.. to 243.. and they said it was due to the rising cost.. cost of what? So I called and spoke with the facility manager and he informed me that he would reach out to his AREA DIRECTOR and see what he could do. He calls me back at tells me that his AD agreed to only charge me 212 per month.. what a joke.. I have a agreement stating that my rate is 173 and only 2 months in you let me know that my rate was going up by 60 dollars for your rising costs.. come on let's be reasonable here I can understand with the rising cost that you may need to increase your price by 10 maybe 15 dollars a month by 60.. how can you justify that. And you are doing it to a customer who hasn't been with you 90 days!!! BEWARE OF THIS FACILITY AND THEIR DECEPTIVE PRACTICES. You gave me a agreement that stated 173 a month and I'm sure there is wording in there for inflation, but almost 30%!! I let him know that I will be moving my vehicle out at the end of the month. Beware of this place and your initial rate.. I can understand if I have been there for at least a year.. but less than 90 days and you raise it by almost 30%!! Good luck with your future customers, I hope they read the fine print!!! read more

I had such a great experience with Global Storage recently. I chose to rent my storage unit online. After everything was paid and finalized, an associate named Eric reached out to me with a welcome email including gate codes and such. That evening, I drove over to my local Global Storage location and tried entering the code Eric had given me. I quickly realized after giving everything another look that somehow I had rented a unit in Dolton IL which was the wrong location! I quickly sent an email back to Eric explaining the situation. Very frustrated I got in my car to drive home and to my surprise at 10:15 pm, Eric was calling me. He had seen my email and was calling to help give me a solution. Within 20 minutes, Eric helped walk me through how to rent out a unit at the correct location and put in the works on how to get my money transferred back to me from his location. I was able to get a unit that night! The response time and help I received was so appreciated. Thank you, Eric! read more

I am so pleased with the great service I received at Global Storage. I came in yesterday and spoke to Roman, who explained to me how storage rental works. Then I came in today to get a unit and worked with Jim. I have never used self storage before, but it's really easy to rent and easy to access the space. I am so excited to have this space to make room in my overstuffed house! The unit is super clean and convenient. Both Roman and Jim were great to work with. I love this place! read more

I rented a storage unit from Global and I'm extremely happy with the service and price. The unit is clean, well kept and nicely lit at night. There are plenty of carts at each entrance to help with moving your stuff (and the wheels work and they maneuver easily!). Went and signed up for a storage container at Global recently. The process was incredibly quick and easy, and I was even escorted to my container the first time so I would know where it was. The facilities are clean and well lit, as well as all one story (So none of those scary self-storage elevators they tend to have). Seems to be a wide range of size and storage options! Our need for storage came up suddenly. We decided to move a parent in with us for a health situation. This meant vacate her apartment and make room for some her furnishings, store the rest and store some of ours stuff. I had no experience in renting storage space. I went on line, looked at a dozens of possibilities from the Yelp lists, read many reviews, did a spreadsheet and created a short list to visit on a Friday. I was pleasantly surprised at the welcome and professionalism of the first four I visited. I won't review them because I did not rent there. All of them had the "online price and deal" that was better than the "walk-in price" so that I was going to complete my list and make the reservation online. Then I visited Global and I did not have an "online price" on the spreadsheet but the price on the website was competitive with the other "online" prices without the need to go online to sign up. Global also offered "climate controlled" for only $5 more that was still less than others on my short list. He gave us the tour of the units, gave us all the specials that were offered online, explained the use of the free move in truck and signed us up. It became a "no brainer". I now had immediate access to the best location of the units for us and I was done. I visited my space today and stored stuff when I thought I would have to wait until at least next week to get started. Time is important because she needs extra care that we feel we need to control plus the care is costing a couple $1,000 on top of $3,000 rent.
