We were up in Big White to celebrate 2 birthdays When we got to Globe for my birthday dinner reso, we requested a booth...well our host handed us the menus and pointed Is to the booth at the wall. No kind hosting convo, which at 5:30 pm shouldn't be too difficult. She handed us a children's colouring sheet menu for our little one but when we realized she wasn't going to bring us crayons we got up to ask for some to be told they've been breaking them In half so they are out. When we ordered a couple of the 'famous fish and chips' it was so disappointing, no seasoning, just a bland fish with a crispy coating. how in the world is this order so popular!? I had to ask for malt vinegar to get some sort of flavour besides the lemon I squeezed on it. We also had ordered the pizza for the table to share and it was so overly chewy and hard with again, no seasoning that the 4 year old couldn't eat it and that was a huge sign that the dinner was an epic failure. It was my choice to come to that restaurant as it was my birthday but we definitely agreed it was a waste of birthday dinner and will not be returning. I spoke to the server and she saw the food left at the table and that we weren't going to stay to even have a birthday dessert (...and I always get dessert when I'm on vacation!) she gave our bill a discount which was helpful bc we still had to go get our little one a meal she would enjoy. If you want a great tasting meal for you and your family, go to Black Diamond, the service was amazing and friendly, they even walked us to our table. The signature ribs were delicious and they even brought out our dessert with a little candle celebrating our daughter's special day. If you have a cold you may enjoy this spot, but if you like flavour, I do not recommend you wasting a reso on this spot. read more

We dined here as a couple for dinner, we were pleased with our choice and had a nice night. We sat in the area near the bar which was nice as it was further away from the large tables of families. Not complaining about families, just not something you want to sit beside all the time when there's just two of you. Our server, Madison, was great - attentive, helpful and friendly. We tried the Korean Cauliflower, it was mostly crispy and tasty - recommended . The Patatas Bravas were good - basically a large bowl of roasted fingerling potatoes - they are best when mixed as the tomato sauce at bottom of dish. We tried the daily bread expecting delicious homemade crusty bread - it was corn bread and was ok tasting but lame for the price. None of the food we tried was bad but it wasn't excellent either - we'll be back to try some other menu items. The winner here is dessert and something I would recommend you go here for = the S'mores. They are great. Cook the homemade marshmallows at your table, yes I just said homemade marshmallows - this was the best marshmallow we have ever eaten. Kids love it, adults love it. Go here, you'll love it. A great cappuccino and and a great breakfast to provide energy for a great ski mountain like Big White. Everything was delicious. The potatoes were crispy hot on the outside and so tender on the inside. Sunnyside up eggs were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The vegan sausage was great and the not vegan bacon was good as well. The housemade bread was delicious. If we had time, we would have had dinner there as well, next time, I will come back for sure to this ski resort, which is until now my new favorite one. read more

The first day we went for dinner and were somewhat disappointed. The server was not enthused to be working it seemed. The food was meh, but it could have been the service affecting that. I convinced my family to give it a second try at lunch after a few days...so glad we did!! The server was awesome (from New Zealand with long red/blond hair in partial braids). The food was equally great!! We had pulled pork tacos, porchetta sandwich, and vegan gyro...all delicious!! I dont know how they make the seitan meat in the gyro, but wish I could buy it. Although Big White may be one of my favorite resorts in the WORLD (because it's just amazing), the one thing I can't stand is the lack of restaurants and just food in general. Sure, Biggie is close to Kelowna, but if you're staying up at the resort you don't want to make the hour+ trek back and forth for food. Anyways, I'm glad to report that there is a new-ish option in town that is delicious and reasonably priced! Globe is a great option for families, adults and groups alike! The ambiance is really warm and there are meal choices that will please even the pickiest of eaters. A lot of the foods here I would classify as comfort foods since they are on the greasier, heavier, and carb-ier side of the spectrum. My personal favorite thing from their menu was their pizzas - we had the capicola and it was really delicious and had a lot of meat which was surprising. The potatos bravas is a must try - this is a Spanish tapas dish and it is really delicious (although the calorie count must be off the roof) with sour cream of course. The pasta dishes such as the carbonara are really well executed and everything is very flavorful. The only disappointment of the meal was the braised lamb since I thought it was a bit bland really small portion-wise. Service was attentive and the food was fast. Overall a good dining experience, I'd have to say this is a MUST try if you are staying in the Village or nearby. Also this place would be the ideal location for a datenight or special event since it is fancier than all the bars/pubs surrounding it. read more

For the 2014-2015 ski season the Globe has a new location above the grocery store at Big White. The space is divided into three parts - a coffee shop, a restaurant and a bar area. The coffee is excellent and comes in big spotted mugs. There are cheerful additions - comfy chairs, National Geographic magazines to read, books, board games and more in the coffee section. You can watch the Food Network while you sip coffee. Or you can sit at the window on bar stools and watch people go by. There's also a deck. WiFi is from Telus - Big White Resort coverage. I had a wonderful roasted red pepper and squash soup. I had a large, fresh loaf of bread with it that had a honeyed butter and herbs - I was only expecting a slice of bread - the soup was excellent. The restaurant sometimes gets oysters - didn't try them - but they looked tempting. Had some good gluhwein and listened to an Australian guitar player - just the right volume - enough to be heard, not too loud for conversation - very pleasant atmosphere. There are some wonderful Tapas dishes. Tuna tartare, avocado mousse, pickled cucumber with lavoche is especially good. We enjoyed potato croquettes with corn and sausage sauce. The lamb shoulder with tarragon, peas and garlic toast we also enjoyed. In past years I've had the cheese platter - which is a delightful way to finish a meal. The servers always make you feel welcome. read more

Tapas was good, the Korean BBQ Cauliflower was my favourite. Service was pretty good, but nowhere​ near as good as the food IMO. Next time I'm in Big WHite, I'll be heading back to the Globe Cafe. read more

Oysters - outstanding. We ordered tapas- the pork and potatoes - yum! scallops done just right with a mint/pea sauce, and finished with wild mushroom rissoto. Outstanding. We also ordered a white wine flight (to go with the oysters and scallops) and the red wine flight (for the pork and just because....) We ordered braised lamb, calimari, carbonara, halloumi, pizza and patatas bravas and each and every one was outstanding, with the exception of the pizza; it was well topped, but the bar seemed bought in and undermined the rest of the meal slightly. Stick to the tapas/pasta though, and this beautiful restaurant comes thoroughly recommended ;) read more

Big ski resorts far off in the mountains have captive audiences and it can really show. We weren't in Big white for long but this was definitely the best meal we ate there by a large margin and would easily stand on its own without the ski resort. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. They have a great kids menu and we even stole a little of our daughter's bacon mac and cheese as it was so good. The mushrooms are fantastic. We also really enjoyed the butternut squash bruschetta, and the salt cod croquettes. read more
