Parmesan Loaf with Sundried Tomato butter
    Melissa P.

This is a very quaint and small bar with a cute interior and great food. I went after a hike for a quick beer with my partner and his sister. His sister and I tried their dinosour beer and my partner tried the stout. The sour was one of the best sours I have ever had. I loved it! If you are a coffee/stout drinker you will definitely like the stout as well. It was very coffee forward in flavour. We also got some snacks. My partner got the fries with chilli dijonaise, I got their Parmesan loaf with their in-house made sundried tomato butter and his sister got the duck fat popcorn. I loved all the food but was obsessed with their homemade butter. It was sweet and savoury and it was the best flavoured butter I have ever had. If you are around the area, I most definitely recommend you try it out! This place doesn't disappoint.

This place is so great. It's so cosy and the food is amazing. The ambience and service make a great night out.

I am so glad my friend showed us this amazing spot for drinks and snacks! We've recently moved to Kelowna and have been on the hunt to find all the best spots in town and this is definitely on the top of the list! The staff are incredible, they're all so nice and funny. And the food and drinks are spectacular. We definitely will be frequenting this amazing spot!

Tried to get into Raudz without a reso, by myself, but too long a wait. They suggested their sister restaurant two doors down, Micro. Glad they did. One of the best octopus dishes I ever had. Amazingly tender, crunchy veg, red-veined sorrel(never seen that before...) in a tomato broth. Actually licked the bowl. Delicious. Cute space too

Forgot to review this a while ago. I have been here two times and each have been amazing. The drinks and staff are great! However, the food is by far the best! Each plate is like an art piece and the flavours are amazing. If you are visiting Kelowna, this place is a must!!

    The Backhand of God

So, while on vacation to Kelowna (yes, in the dead of winter) we happened upon micro. What more can I say than a minuscule menu of delectable goodness and beers on tap that would make any beer snob think they'd died and found heaven. Especially with a pint of gold called "the Backhand of God". If we had a bar/pub. It'd be just like this. But I don't know that it could be more perfect.

Came here spontaneously after our original dinner plans fell through. We had tried Raudz earlier in the week and knew Micro was under the same management and thought we would give it a go. They only have about 3 outdoor tables, 2 indoor tables and it is mostly a bar. I noticed a lot of people would come by here as a way to pass the time while waiting for their table at Raudz. But we were here for dinner. We sat at the bar, and the service was great. The server was polite, nice and made recommendations to us from the small plate and large plate food menu. We got some beers and ordered the paella gnocchi, soft tacos, jerk lamb ribs and the pork lomo. The star of the show was definitely the paella gnocchi. Everything else was mediocre. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking a place to chill while waiting for a friend or a table elsewhere, but the food didn't wow me enough to come back to eat. But based on the service, I will definitely be back for a drink or two with my girlfriends.

Miami 75 and Bourbon Bee Sting
    Susan F.

4 stars for the cocktails, 2 stars for the food. I will start with the cocktails we had the bourbon bee sting and the Miami 75 both were great very smooth and great flavour. Now the food, overpriced for what you get. The turkey wings were very difficult to eat the meat should have been more tender but the flavour was good. Fries were nice and crispy. Cheese was waay overpriced 7$ for one piece not worth it. The courgette quiche tasted old and had a nasty grey colour to it. I will go back for the drinks but hopefully they switch up their menu.

    Great Beer! Fine Charcuterie!

You walk in and it's always bumping and bartender is always making funky and cool drinks and everyone's always having a great time. Lots of conversation between friends or even between strangers at the bar. Service was always great. The best dish is the brussel sprouts - it always has something funky in it - marshmellows or grapes and then cheese. It was so enjoyable and they truly believed in their culinary art. I've always appreciated their evolution of their dishes and it was never boring to come back again and again. I truly hope the owners are able to create another restaurant as creative as this one and make it last. I really truly enjoyed this!

We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

On a recent trip to Kelowna we met with an old friend of ours who lives in Kelowna and we suggested dinner at Basil and Mint. After dinner our friend said that next time we should go to the Yacht Club with him for dinner. Our server Scott has been our server on previous occasions but this evening the service was not up to the usual standards. It was a busy evening but it took a long time for our entrees to arrive. We shared an order of escargot again but on the occasion the escargot were very small. Our entrees when they finally arrived consisted of a salmon special for our friend, chicken parmesan for my husband and beef short rib for myself. My husband found the chicken lacking in seasoning and flavour. My short rib was dry and stringy. It was terrible and definitely not worth the $42.00. When the server came with the pepper grinder and asked we wanted pepper we all responded yes. She did the pepper for my husband and myself and then walked away. We had to flag down another server to ask for pepper for our friend. When our friend left the table and Scott came by and asked how our dinners were we expressed our disappointment he just asked if we had been served the same meals on other occasions. Should this make a difference? You should be able to have consistently good food and it should not be dependent on what you order. We ordered crème brulee for dessert. It was so disappointing because we had suggested Basil and Mint to our friend. He did not comment on his meal but the fact that he suggested another restaurant for our next dinner speaks volumes. We might give Basil and Mint another try because we have had very good experiences before but they are no longer a must visit when we are in Kelowna.

No kind hosting convo, which at 5:30 pm shouldn't be too difficult. She handed us a children's colouring sheet menu for our little one but when we realized she wasn't going to bring us crayons we got up to ask for some to be told they've been breaking them In half so they are out. When we ordered a couple of the 'famous fish and chips' it was so disappointing, no seasoning, just a bland fish with a crispy coating. how in the world is this order so popular!? I had to ask for malt vinegar to get some sort of flavour besides the lemon I squeezed on it. We also had ordered the pizza for the table to share and it was so overly chewy and hard with again, no seasoning that the 4 year old couldn't eat it and that was a huge sign that the dinner was an epic failure. It was my choice to come to that restaurant as it was my birthday but we definitely agreed it was a waste of birthday dinner and will not be returning. I spoke to the server and she saw the food left at the table and that we weren't going to stay to even have a birthday dessert (...and I always get dessert when I'm on vacation!) she gave our bill a discount which was helpful bc we still had to go get our little one a meal she would enjoy. If you want a great tasting meal for you and your family, go to Black Diamond, the service was amazing and friendly, they even walked us to our table. The signature ribs were delicious and they even brought out our dessert with a little candle celebrating our daughter's special day. If you have a cold you may enjoy this spot, but if you like flavour, I do not recommend you wasting a reso on this spot.

Not complaining about families, just not something you want to sit beside all the time when there's just two of you. Our server, Madison, was great - attentive, helpful and friendly. We tried the Korean Cauliflower, it was mostly crispy and tasty - recommended . The Patatas Bravas were good - basically a large bowl of roasted fingerling potatoes - they are best when mixed as the tomato sauce at bottom of dish. We tried the daily bread expecting delicious homemade crusty bread - it was corn bread and was ok tasting but lame for the price. None of the food we tried was bad but it wasn't excellent either - we'll be back to try some other menu items. The winner here is dessert and something I would recommend you go here for = the S'mores. They are great. Cook the homemade marshmallows at your table, yes I just said homemade marshmallows - this was the best marshmallow we have ever eaten. Kids love it, adults love it. Go here, you'll love it. It's ridiculous, messy and awesome. Enjoy!
